To be honest, I'd really like a game that deviated from the standard narrative of 'Fight 8 Gyms and an evil world-dominating team, capture a legendary, become the Champion, then do lots of sub-quests'. I don't see it happening any time soon, and certainly not on a portable device, but that's really what I want to see happen to the main Pokemon gaming franchise. If the Championship becomes a side plot, that's at least a step in the right direction for my taste.
