I don't think having a goth would improve much. I think that they should add more romance to Pokemon, like Inuyasha. The trainers aren't 10 anymore. They are a lot more mature.

What mushy stuff? I see no love affairs flying around among the likes that you see in InuYasha.

Yeah, just what we need. Some pale kid in all black cutting himself while listening to angsty music, acting like the world's against him while reciting some bad poetry about how much of an outcast they are. We don't need stereotype kids that are seen more in the US than in Japan.

And last I checked, this was a kids' show. If you want violence or death and serious themes, watch Digimon Adventures and Zero2 since it has a fair amount of it.
 
Hello. New Person here. Very interesting thread here. My personal opinion. No Goths or deaths would improve the show. it would actually make it worse. More romance like other people said would be nice. needs to be more serious, true, but not serious to the point where theres death. also i hate the fact that it was changed to be a kid show when it came to america. The show in japan had mature themes which i would like to see. I still like the american version. A website i visit pokemopolis is interesting. tells the mature themes in pokemon.
 
No, romance would kill the show. More. I hate shipping. Well, scratch that, romance will make some shippers whine and complain, which would make me happy.
 
Lol? only problem with romance is the target audience tends to get grossed out by it XD


Death? Bah? Violence? Enough of it in battles as it is. Pok?mon, to me, with its "kiddy" theme, is an escape from what most of you want in it. There's enough death in the world as it is. What we need is stuff that everyone can appreciate, stuff where people don't get crushed by shipping crates and ripped in half. *CSI* Stuff without psycho pot growers killing 4 mounties and then themselves *real life, anyone?*. Pok?mon is fine the way it is.

Except for the music edits? bah?
 
I would like to see more of Ash's past. So far, we know nothing about his father and I'm quite curious of who he really is. We've seen some of his friend's past like Brock, Misty and a few of May's past and I'm not so sure about Max's Past if there is any.
 
Max is a kid? he hasn't had much time to make a past, lol.

And? Now more often then not, Goth is just a fashion statment, then what it was really ment to be in the old Euopeian times of the 1400s

Plus, it's a show from Japan, the closest thing they have to Gothic are the super thin J-Rockers or the lolis. And last time I checked pokemon wasn't supposed to be focused on that. It wouldn't fit in with the theme of the show in the least bit.

Way to break the #1 rule of goths. They DON'T label themselves. ;) You're simply just trying to fit in with the whole trend that Blue mentioned.

Excuse me? I know a hell of a lot more about what a 'true goth' or whatever it is you wanna call it is. For one, a goth NEVER labels themself like that. And don't lose your temper like that, no one yelled at you so there is no need for you to do that.

It's called general stereotyping. Simply because it's also somewhat true considering how many people are taking the label these days. Classifying yourself as a "goth" already destroys whatever chance you have of being an actual individual and puts you into a group of conformists.

Considering the fact that "goths" normally try to avoid being labeled and consider themselves as not being conformists who follow what everyone else does, you're quite breaking the very first rule of it. What YOU are is nothing but a trend follower rather than an actual "goth." I have plenty of "goth" friends and they get quite upset whenever someone slaps them with that label.
 
That's true Blue. Meh, it's a kid's show in the end it's fine the way it is if we all had the changes we wanted made on it it would be a total freak show! 0.o If you want something changed there's always fanfics lol

@Elite rainer Raven EXCUSE ME??! Cutting, for your information is a serious issue which in my opinion should not be approached in that way! I am a Goth and I don't act like the world is against me. You should be a little more open-minded about certain things. And no, it's not a fashion statement -_- but I won;t get into topic in here about that for it would go into something else.

No you can't, you're being very rude to others who stated an opinion. Do it again and you'll find yourself in trouble. Maybe we don't know you, but you are generalizing yourself into the 'goth' trend or whatever it may be. And stop labeling yourself, that breaks almost the entire foundation and ideas of the goth form.

So please stop yelling already and get this thread back on topic.
