Probably changes daily, but off the top of my head:

Normal: Furret - Tried it in HGSS and realised I love it.
Fire: Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard - The other Fire starters are good too.
Water: Mantine - Although it's a large type, so there's a lot of choices...
Electric: Magnemite/Magneton - I don't really like the evolved form as much.
Grass: Torterra - Maybe.
Ice: Peel Seel
Fighting: Machamp - I'm not sure, but I've used it a lot, so I guess that says I must like it.
Poison: Crobat - My favourite. There are lots of good Poisons though.
[COLOR=#aaaa4]Ground:[/COLOR] Diglett/Dugtrio - Some other good choices too.
Flying: Crobat - Again.
Psychic: Lugia - Although I tend to only collect legendaries, not train them.
Bug: Shedinja - I like it's interestingness, but it's weak...
[COLOR=#aaaa4]Rock:[/COLOR] Golem - Maybe.
Ghost: Dusknoir - PMD has just made me like it so much.
Dragon: Dragonite - Or Dialga.
Dark: Spiritomb - So cool.
Steel: Magnemite/Magneton - Again.

Water → Vaporeon
Electric → Pichu
Grass → Cherrim
Ice → Spheal
Fighting → Hitmonchan? I guess? Not a fighting-type fan.
Poison → Bulbasaur
Ground → Wooper

Bug → Caterpie/Metapod
Rock → Nosepass
Ghost → Drifloon again
Dragon → Palkia
Dark → Houndour again
Steel → Probopass

All of my first were from Hoenn--including ones added in from previous gens--really since Ruby was the first pokemon game I owned.

Water: Mudkip :D
Fire: Slugma
Normal: Zigzagoon

Bug: Wurmple (definitely remember that one!)
Ice: Snorunt if I'm right
Steel: Idk...Aron I think cause I was trapped in Dewford cave for a long time

Grass - Treecko (though I don't like any of his evos so much)
Fighting - grown to love the Machops.
Flying - Pidegot (I'm old school)
Electric - Jolteon
Ice - Lapras (more icy than water to me, though some people would probably disagree)
Dark - Absol (love the look of this thing!)
Steel - Scizor
Bug - Scyther (harrr)
Rock - Kabutops
Ground - Toss up between Diglett/Sandshrew/Cubone
Pyschic - Hypno
Dragon - Dratini/Dragonair
