Your Most Unexpected Pokemon Power House

My Quagsire in SoulSilver.

Super legit, this thing rocks. It's only fainted once (a horrible fail challenge with Morty) but besides that, it's my backup beast.

It's so beastly I'm considering dropping the MonoGround Challenge it's part of so I can just solo run it (:

Flounder the Quagsire = <33

Gen 3: Breloom. I caught it as a shroomish on sappire and started with mudkip.
YES! But mine died after sister deleted save file >_> But I think I have a Shroomish on my new file but I always aim to get one because like you, I start with Mudkip on Emerald :) Mine has poor defence though...

Porygon-Z was a hugely impressive Powerhouse for me. Despite the fact that I'd never raised it before, I found myself sweeping through most of the trainers in Pokemon Heart Gold. It's dead useful with a mean special attack. Not to mention Tri Attack, coupled with Adaptibility can be incredibly scary.

Except Porygon-Z, and even Porygon2 do so well just having Tri Attack and Psybeam / Charge Beam / Ice Beam / Thunderbolt. Their Special Attack is fantastic, especially for a Normal-type. Try them out. Their only crux is that you need to trade them twice to evolve.

*looks at my AR* oh the temptation.... i ony use it for experiments,& events i miss, but..... this is temptin lol Porygon 2& Z would be a nice change from my usual teams lol

ill try them out.... one way or another :bandit: lol

Well there are several for me but for sure some of them...

Swellow- Back in the days when I only leveled my starter because I didnt think i needed to level anyone else I would catch other Pokemon for HM's and such... Well Exp Share popped around and I decided to give it to Swellow. When my starter (Marshtomp I believe) was beaten in battle my Swellow came out and completely dominated EVERYTHING... From then on one of my favorite flying types. I also started training all of my Pokemon instead of just the starter and ocaisionally one other Pokemon

Dugtrio- I used him back in Yellow basicly because he started fully evolved and was able to compeltely dominate Surge solo.. but honestly I never thought twice about him again... Until HG. I caught myself a diglet for the lulz and quickly realized his MASSIVE speed... Best revenge killer there is, no doubt.

And last but not least; Ambipom- I hated Ambipom... I HATED ambipom, the way he looked turned me off so much... Until I used him in battle... If you play Ambipom the right way he will never in a billion years lose a battle, one of my favorite competetive Pokemon without a doubt.

been there done all that i completely agree with you mate, they are brilliant pokemon XD

My argument wasn't that the Pokemon themselves were bad. Magnet Rise is a very viable move choice, but Lock-On and Zap Cannon is not. Think about it this way: if you use Lock-On and then Zap Cannon, you use two turns and attack with one 100 Power attack, but if you use Thunderbolt twice (in two turns), you do 190 Power attack... Almost twice as strong. Even Spark, doing 130 in two turns will do more.

Also, you said to give Metagross Magnet Rise... Well you can't really do that if you give it Earthquake, Hammer Arm, Lock-On, AND Zap Cannon. Metagross shouldn't even be USING Zap Cannon, since its ATK is so much higher than its SPC. That being said, Metagross without Meteor Mash / Bullet Punch is foolish.

Once again, Sheer Cold is banned in competitive gameplay... And you can beat the E4 with anything, without using items, if you have strong enough Pokemon. You don't need to rely on iffy two-turn tactics.

Good lord, if you're going to give the Regis those attacks, there isn't a point in Zap Cannon at all. You should be more worried about how Heatran can wipe out your entire team by itself.

As much as you're absolutely correct...I think he meant in game.

Anyways, back in my FireRed my Butterfree was just god like for me. Statusing things and the fact that psychic is a great attacking type in game made it to be quite the pokemon!!

Believe it or not the pokemon who surprised me was bidoof, I have never liked Bidoof but I had just started a new game on my platinum, So I caught a bidoof for a Hm slave, the moves were incredibly strong strange enouph. So now its around lv 70 and I decide to check its Iv's, All of them were 31 except def. It was a power house of my team inspite of being a Hm slave XD

Suicide bird~

Swellow @ Flame Orb
Guts
-- Facade
-- Brave Bird
-- U-Turn
-- Protect

The best the best the best lol

I hated Ambipom for different reasons -- because he seemed kind of useless for a Pokemon. But then I realized something great about him: He had Technician-boosted Fake Out, Quick Attack, Water Pulse, Shock Wave, Payback, Pursuit, Swift, Aerial Ace, Grass Knot, Hidden Power, Knock Off, and they added Low Kick in HGSS. Add that plus Agility, Nasty Plot, and Baton Pass and you've got someone of a star. I start every battle with Fake Out and it takes away about half the foe's HP off the bat.

lol awesome XD im so glad i made this thread, everyb time i hear each of your storys i cant help but grin :D

Unfortunately, sir, Regice is much slower than Heatran and will never go faster than it. Therefore, the battle looks more like

True,But.

ARCEUS Used Perish Song!

3 Turns Later

Go! Regice!The Foes HEATRAN Fainted!

Plus,You Can Severely Lower Heatran's Speed With Statuses By Other Pokes,Or Hope The Trainer Decreased It's Speed For Friendship.

Definately Raticate and Tentacruel.
Raticates hyper fang and super fang were very useful.
Tentacruels a good special-er

lol You just added an Arceus out of nowhere. It's also not like Heatran can't switch out lolololololololol

You don't "decrease speed for friendship." That's not how the game works. You're just making things up now.

raticates& tentacruels are usually my HM slaves :(
i should use them more ^_^

Tentacruel would be a decent Special wall if he weren't weak to Psychic and Electric, arguably the two most used Special moves. He learns Mirror Coat and Poison Jab, though.
