If you were a Gym Leader, what Pok?mon would you have for your battles?

If I was the Water Type Leader it would be:

    Seadra L43
    Starmie L45
    Blastoise L41
    Gyarados L45

Each would know surf, but a little something special for Blastoise for those naughty electric/-poison Pokemon (EARTHQUAKE!) My well-trained Seadra would execute commands without my telling it (Like Koga's Golbat)

    or

If I was a Fire-Type Leader it would be ^_^

    Flareon L45
    Rapidash L43
    Arcanine L43
    Ninetales L45

    ^_^ Fear my Pokemon!

I would be a fire pokemon gym leader...picture this

    My team:
    Quilava:43
    Quilava:45
    Charmeleon:43
    Typhlosion:50

They would all know flamethrower, and typhlosion would know earthquake...ahh i just love fire pokemon!

    Poison-types for me...

    Muk lv.52
    Golbat lv.53
    Weezing lv.52
    Crobat lv.55

all will know Toxic (except for Crobat, he'll know Poison Fang). Muk/Weezing will also know Momento. Weezing will know Explosion! (Kamakaze pok?mon are very cool)

Well ... my gym would be an "Any type welcome" kind. I'd have as a gym lineup

    Gyarados lvl 59
    Charizard lvl 60
    Pidgeot lvl 58
    Blaziken lvl 61
    Stantler lvl 65
    Grovle lvl 60
    o.o; Strange lineup...

I would be a water Pokemon trainer.

    Kingdra: level 40
    Swampert: level 56
    Dewgong: level 45
    Seaking: level 38
    Lapras: level 46
    Vaporeon: level 47

    Erm, mine would be a psychic/Fire/grass combo.XD

    Espeon level 68

    Flareon level 68

    Venasuar level 69

    Arcanine level 70

    Sceptile level 75

    Blaziken level 80

What??? The last guy in colluseum had strong pokemon too!!XD

mine would be a anything comboXD!!!

    ok

    Breloomlv50

    grediorlv50

    Beautifly!!!lv50

    wishcashlv50

    mightyena lv50

and last but not least CHarzard!!!!!!lv55

    Since my gym is dark...

    Umbreon Lv. 54
    Houndoom Lv. 54
    Mightyena Lv.55
    Absol Lv. 55
    Tyranitar Lv. 56

You start with my Umbreon who always poisons and confuses first. He likes to get them to make other Pokemon hurt themselves so it makes it easier to attack. My Houndoom loves to burn, burn, burn! She'll use will-o-wisp first and attack with a deadly Flamethrower (she has Charcoal!) My Mightyena is really fast and she likes to bite them! Most of the time she uses Crunch and Bite, but sometimes (mostly at the end) she'll finish them off with Take Down. My Absol. She likes to use Body Slam and paralize them. She then Bites and Slashes and that's normaly it, except at the beggining she'll use Swords Dance. And last but certanly not least my Tyranitar! He uses a variety of moves, Thunder, Hyper Beam, Crunch and Earthquake.

    My Psychic gym...

    Kadabra Lv. 54
    Espeon Lv. 54
    Gardevoir Lv. 55
    Grumpig Lv. 55
    Metagross Lv. 56

My Kadabra normally uses Psybeam and Psywave but ocasionaly he'll use Confuse Ray. Once he's done with his Psybeam's and Psywave's he'll finish the Pokemon off with Confusion. My Espeon likes to use Morning Sun and use Psychic. She'll then use Return to finish them off . My Gardevoir has a trick up her sleave, she likes to use Shock Wave. And that's it, besides Psychic (all my Pokemon know Psychic!) My Grumpig first confuses you, and then springs up high to use Bounce. He'll finish them off with Headbutt. And last but again, certanly not least, my Metagross! It will use Meteor Mash and if that doesn't take you out he'll use Hyper Beam, but sadly Metagross is slow, so if you can take it out you'll be victorious.

    My Ghost gym...

    Haunter Lv. 54
    Shedinja Lv. 54
    Misdreavus Lv. 55
    Sableye Lv. 55
    Dusclops Lv. 56

All my Pokemon know Confuse Ray and Shadow Ball. My Haunter will first use Confuse Ray and then Shadow Ball. In danger he will use Curse. Everyone knows that Shedinja has Wonder Guard to protect itself from certain types, but it will some times use a special attack, Blizzard. It will try and get the Pokemon out, before it hits him. My Misdreavus likes to risk it's life and use Perish Song when needed. Some times she'll use Pain Split, even though some times it can make her faint. My Sableye will use Fake Out first and then hit her foe with Shadow Ball. And last but certanly not least my Dusclops. She'll make you confused then hit you with Shadow Punch. Sometimes she'll use Shadow Ball. She'll also Curse you if nessasarie.

    My Dragon gym...

    Dragonair Lv. 54
    Altaria Lv. 54
    Kingdra Lv. 55
    Salamence Lv. 55
    Flygon Lv. 56
    Dragonite Lv. 57

In this gym you better have Ice, because this time there's six of them. All of them know Dragon Breath and/or Dragon Claw. Dragonair will start out with using Dragon Dance and then attack you with Dragon Breath. Altaria will use Fly and in the air she'll use Dragon Breath. My Kingdra will use Surf to weaken your Ice. Then he'll finish any of your Pokemon off with Dragon Breath or Dragon Claw. My Salamence will first use Earthquake and if that doesn't take you out he'll use Ariel Ace, Frustration, or Dragon Claw. My Flygon is the trickiest. She knows Flamethrower (to take out the Ice), Dragon Breath, Dragon Claw, and Hyper Beam. Try beating that! And last but certanly not least my Dragonite! She knows Dragon Rage, Blizzard, Dragon Claw, and Fire Blast! This gym is probably the toughest to beat!

And when you thought it ended here's Steel and Fire!

    Metang Lv. 54
    Skarmory Lv. 54
    Aggron Lv. 55
    Camerupt Lv. 55
    Arcanine Lv. 56
    Charizard Lv. 57

Do I really have to explain these guy?

Notice how most of these people have a higher level Pokemon than even the Elite 4? And these are supposed to be gyms, which are lower level than E4. Oh well...

Anyway, here goes my Dark team

    Sneasel, L39
    Umbreon, L37
    Houndoom, L38
    Absol, L38
    Tyranital, L40

Sneasel, having a sucky Sp Attack, but decent speed, leads off, using physical attacks, but also having Crunch as well.

Umbreon is a Toxi-staller, having Substitute and Moonlight as well as Bite.

Houndoom is a decent special sweeper, also knowing Sunny Day and Solarbeam, in addition to Crunch and Flamethrower.

Absol can Double Team up, Swords Dance if he survives, and start hitting away with Return or Bite.

Tyranitar completes the team, with a nice physical sweeper. Earthquake to soften up most opponents, Rock Blast for flying types, Crunch, and Dragon Dance, just for sheer sweeping pain.

This set would probably be gym number 7 in the games, out of 8.

    That depends. In R/B/Y, the E4 were lv.56-65. In GS/C, the E4 were lv.41-50. In Ru/Sa, the E4 were lv.46-58

My team (lv.52-55) was designed with the R/B/Y E4 in mind...kinda like I took over Giovanni's gym...

I would be a Gym Leader of the Kinari Region XD
Bug Type Gym - Forest Badge - 5th Leader
    Caterpie: Lv. 30
    Weedle: Lv. 30
    Wurmple: Lv. 30
    Scizor: Lv. 35
    Ninjask: Lv. 32
    Aint meh the best? :P

I don't think Gym Leaders should exceed 4-5 Pok?mon...it just doesn't look right

Fighting gym, with a team that has being a final RS-style gym leader in mind...

    Breloom; female, level 45
    Machoke; male, level 46
    Poliwrath, female, level 46
    Heracross; female, level 48
    Hitmonchan; male, level 50

Breloom was raised with Speed in mind, so unless you trained for a high level, she WILL use Spore first. She also knows a newly discovered move, Plant Punch, the grass equivalent of the element punches that may leave a Leech Seed effect. Yes, her special attack is low, but this will still put a huge damper on water, ground, and rock types. Machoke is just a physical attacker; even though he's unevolved, he still has decent staying power, but poor speed of course. Then there's Poliwrath, who hones Mind Reader and Blizzard, Dynamic Punch, and Fissure. BEWARE! Then we have our endure/flail bug, Heracross, and finally, my pride and joy, Hitmonchan with Rock Slide, Body Slam, Sky Uppercut (or a different Fighting move if I can think of a TM), and Earthquake.

exactly... since the question asks for gym leader not "whatever you want to be," gotta design your lineup similar to how the (stupid) gym leaders set theirs up too. They never have the 1800+ total stats Pokemon as well (such as Dragonite, Salamence, Tyranitar and metagorss)

    Cloyster lvl 42 @ nothing
    -spike
    -protect
    -ice beam (staple)
    -reflect

Ice beam as the stapled move for all Pokemon in this gym (hey it's a TM... I'll just give Ice Beam TMs then! lol that'll save the trouble from making my own TM unlike Iveechan's situation ;p) Other moves are just there to be usable and a bit more flexible...

    Dewgong lvl 44 @ nothing
    -signal beam
    -body slam
    -rest
    -ice beam

Self explanitory... the physical sweeping Dewgong. All of them should be expected by the challenger as it's all part of the natural movelist... not a single TM used.

Lapras lvl 46 @ mystic water
    -water pulse
    -ice beam
    -confuse ray
    -body slam

See the above... except used Water Pulse tm instead because only very few gym leaders got to use HMs (Clair with surf is the only one I can recall). And I can't use Hydro Pump either because that'll be too ubar, so let's go with pulse. No thunderbolt or psychic or the usual stuff on Lapras, because that kinda violates the law to be a realistic gym leader (which means: your moveset must suck to a certain point so the 6 year olds can defeat you after 7 tries)

Sneasil lvl 44 @ quick claw
    -slash
    -ice beam
    -quick attack
    -swords dance

I'm so sorry for being too ubar for a gym leader standard but I just can't help myself but to throw in swords dance... slash is an all time in-gamer-only's favorite move so let's throw it down to act like one of them. Ice beam will suck crap but the rule book for "how to be a realistic gym leader" forces me to use it. No shadowball because this is ingame.

    Dewgong lvl 47 @ nevermeltice
    -blizzard
    -rest
    -body slam
    -sheer cold

Oh my goodness! It's blizzard! Even though it's weaker than ice beam, must use this move because that'll make it even more realistic (and supposedly even stronger in the opinions of most ingamer). Sheer Cold just to make myself sound even more ubar but not really because it'll never hit, due to the reason of everybody being so much higher level than me (supposedly, or at least I hope). Body slam is used so that ice attack isn't the only move I got, and rest for staying alive for one turn longer (supposedly).

Hmm...I suppose I would train all forgotten pokemon, I suppose that's a theme for a gym. I can't think of attacks at the moment so here's what I'd have (high levels to counter their not-so-goodness)

    Dunsparce: Lv.70
    Shuckle: Lv.68
    Chimecho: Lv.66
    Farfetch'd: Lv.64
    Lickitung: Lv.62

    Interesting, eh? :P

lol... no need the high levels. Since this is ingame gyms, even strong Pokemon like Kingdra will need a high level to compensate for the dumb AI and poor-beyond-believe moveset they get. Plus Chimecho is definitely remembered: because it got heal bell.

I suppose I'll have 5 Pokemon. Psychic, Dark, and Ghost.

    Gengar-70@Leftovers[+Speed/-Attack]
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Sp. Atk, 6 HP
    Will-O-Wisp
    Psychic
    HP Dark
    Sludge Bomb

    Sweeper?

    Absol-69@Leftovers[+Speed/-Sp. Attack]
    EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Atk
    Swords Dance
    HP Ghost
    Return
    Some physical attack

    Something...

    Alakazam-68@Leftovers[+Speed/-Atk]
EVs: 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed
    Subsitute
    Calm Mind
    Thunderpunch
    Psychic

    Sub CMer.

    Dusclops-69@Lum Berry
EVs: 252 HP, 129 Sp. Def, 129 Speed
    Toxic
    Rest
    Night Shade
    Mean Look

No need for Attack EVs if this thing is only going to do 69 damage at all times.

    Umbreon-68@Leftovers[+Speed/-Sp. Attack]
    252 HP, 252 Speed, 6 Def
    Wish
    Subsitute
    Confuse Ray
    Baton Pass

Not much attacking going on here. Wish, Sub, Ray, whatever to BP.
