4th Gen your starter follows you?!

If not only the starters and events, then possibly the same Pokémon from Amity Square as well. I'd like to have an Elekid following me though, it would indeed be a cool sight to see.
 
But not just the ones they specify at Amity Square because otherwise, you wouldn't be able to travel with many. You would need to trade after the main plot. That would be a disappointment.
 
Yes you have a point. I see more of the smaller type Pokémon being able to follow us though. this feature doesn't really bother me too much, I like it, but if only the starter can follow you, then it wouldn't bother me so much seeing as I've played the games without them beside me in Crystal, Ruby, Diamond, and Platinum for so long.
 
No, I would love it if just the Starter could follow you. It is enough to make me happy.
 
I agree, the starter is enough to keep me happy. Just seeing them bring back an old feature from a past game [/Yellow] seems quite nice for a change in play.
 
I haven't played Yellow, but it is the one I want to watch the most.
 
I'm glad to know they are taking ideas from older games such as Yellow and maybe Crystal to form a better remake. I have to say it was a nice touch to allow the starters to follow us, but now it adds a lot of speculation for the fans until more information is released about it.
 
Yes, and this could disappoint everyone if it doesn't come true.
 
I'm pretty sure the starter following you is true, seeing as it has already been seen in Videos and CoroCoro scans, and I don't think they'll turn back on that now seeing as how hyped the crowd is for it.
 
I think the starter following you will not be in HG/SS, well actually it will be to a certain extent. For all we know it could only be for certain events. But I believe it will only be until after the Slowpoke well event. Reason: It seems like a significant event to change things and that your starter is nearing evolution.

I agree. It is very unlikely to be for the whole game, but it could happen.
 
Like I said, it is hard to put the right finger on the spot to tell the whole deal with the starter following you. Though, I'm pretty sure it just might stay out through the game or else having it for only such a short time wouldn't make so much of a great use with it.
 
As far as we know the starter could just be out for certain events. Like, Game Freak are the ones taking the screenshots and stuff. So it could be they are just showing us the events with the starter following.
 
Well, it follows us from the start of the game, to the Slowpoke Well, and then we've seen the Pikachu-Colored Pichu followng Gold in the game as well. So, either the next CoroCoro scans will reveal more on the starter, or we'll have to wait until the game is released to find out how it really runs. Though, they have put in a lot of enforcement on the starter following us.
 
I think its a really cool feature.. but does anyone think GAMEFREAK took this idea from digimon? did any body played digimon world? in that game the digimon follows you around.. and now it also has it in HG and SS.. does any one agree?

Yeah, what Lily stated above is right, they got this idea from Pokémon Yellow, not Digimon.

Also, has anyone thought it might be really cool if the supporting character and Silver might have their starter follow them as well everytime we might encounter them in the game perhaps?

I agree with you.. but i think he wont have his pokemon following him everytime you encounter him, maybe he will have his pokemon following him sometimes.

Maybe, but that was just a thought of mines, they might not have their starters following them at all.
 
I'm really happy about the starter being
able to follow you. Hopefully in future
generations they will be able to let any
pokemon follow you as long as its the first
pokemon in your party. Or they could let
you set which pokemon you want shown.
