Eh, if it's there, just do it. I do it often, actually, and I don't feel bad at all doing it. It's usually just a song or two at a time, anyway. It's not like I'm downloading the whole album. Even if I was, it still wouldn't matter...
 
Hell yeah X3 I download stuff ALL the time and don't feel bad XD I get it from my bro lol

But its limited to whats on bearshare and the cool stuff I find lmao

Like:

1) Naruto
2) Pokeckt monsters specials and banned eps
3) Naruto OSTs

See, its stuff you can't really 'buy' where I live, so I guess its ok for me X3
 
I don't. It's against my values. I think stealing is wrong, and downloading music is kinda like stealing in my mind. Therefore, I won't download it, no matter how much I want it. It goes with anime too for me, even if it's not even in English yet. I would feel way too guilty to get it, because I know it'd be like stealing. People took time and effort into making the show -- why should I get it for free? They deserve getting paid for it.
Besides, even if the artists are filthy stinking rich, they still deserve being paid for what they do. It would be like working at your job, and then the manager was like "nope, they've stolen too much to give you the money you need". I realize that some artists can deal with losing that kind of money, but I still don't want them to lose any, that they could easily get from me buying their CDs. They're not too expensive where I come from, so it isn't a big deal for me, that's all.

Overall, I don't, because it's just wrong in my point of view. However, I'm not going to go around and critisize people for downloading it. Let's face it -- no matter how much the goverment tries to stop it, they won't be able to. Ever. There will always be a way to get illegal music.
 
I feel that downloading music illigally is fine for a good reason. the reason is that if you are downloading some ones music you will still see them live and that is usually for most artists the only way to get monney
 
I do it almost all the time, heck I'm downloading three songs right now. What I download though is music that you can't buy in America usually. I don't listen to a lot of English music so what I get is more than often Japanese. Japanese laws are a bit different on this as most of the time they really don't care unless it's actually someone in Japan doing it. Either way, I usually end up buying the CDs from online stores. I use to just buy pirated copies, but if I'm going to pay a lot of money for the stuff I'd rather have the actual band get my money and not some bootleger.
 
I do side with it. Heck I don`t do it but Of course I have nothing against it. Why watse your money when you could download it? I have Nothing against Illegal downloading ANYTHING , I do it myself..
I pity anyone who doesn`t do it?..
Same with anime? Why wait a month to catch a new episode? You could download Sub or Dub and watch it on your time..
 
Heck, if you're also talking about anime episodes, I TOTALLY do it. In fact my sister's boyfriend (gawddarnnit let's call him Joe) well he is a bittorrent, Kazaa and whateveryouname it maniac. He knows it all and so does my sister. But the songs are so easy to find.
Call my a hypocrite or whatever it is but I feel downloading music from the net is okay event though I feel bad no one from Zelda or Pokemon are getting my money (hey, I do actually have a 2ba master cd, got it in NYC way back then)
But some songs are just so rare that I'd actually pay for them.

Alot? Nope... tch, usually less than 10 songs an year, but I download ALOT of anime/game OSTs.

10 songs a years? Tch. For me, it's like 10 songs every 2 days XD
 
its good, i do buy CDs if i really like the band like MY Chemical Romance and Depeche Mode, but all the rest i download, STICK IT TO THE MAN! :P
 
I download music that I can't find in music stores, at online shops like Amazon or I just don't want to buy it. If I happen to find a CD that has some songs I want on it, I'd buy it.

However, I only have a 56K modem and it takes me like 15-20 minutes to download a song. So, I do download a song every once in a while.
 
Downloading... what they mean by it being illegal is, for example, they burn fake copies of the CD's Rom's into carts, so forth and so on and sell them, now if you made your friend a CD and gave it to them, thats legal, but selling items that are copies and being sold behind people's backs....
I download all the time whenever I want, I will never stop, It's only illegal if your a pirate, and you get caught selling the fake crap.
 
i download lots of AMV's but thats usually it.
 
Well, I don't download music, but I don't have anything against it either. I wonder why? *Looks at 5 different emulators with atleast 20 roms each*
 
hmm, i think i've only downloaded no more than 3 songs in my life, i don't think it's something anyone should get all nuts about, but it is bad if you do it alot. I do think it's a waste of $ to buy a CD for one cool song or something like that.
