I don't even think calling a food item terrible is culturally insensitive in the slightest. A food item could be terrible to some, while amazing to others.
If Malaysia is finding problems with his comments on their national drink, so to speak, then good for them. It must mean that Malaysia has finally solved its sex tourism issues because it can worry about one guy dissing a drink he had one time.
Really, this would be like the Unites States getting pissed off at some random for hating on Starbucks or Coca-Cola. Ridiculous.
I see zero evidence of racism from the guy that had the drink. Can't say much about his critics though, but what are you gonna do?
It's just embarassing for Malaysia is all.
