    Thought some people might find this interesting:
    New series of Yugioh anime will start in October
    Weekly Shonen Jump announced a coming new anime series.
    According to the anime topic articles in the 34th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (available on July 17), a renewed series of Yugioh will start on October 6, 2004.
    The working title is 「遊☆戯☆王 ＤＭ ジェネックス」"Yugioh Duel Monsters Genex (or Genecs) Or simply Yu-Gi-Oh G"
    The drawing in the tankoubon mentioned below is the characters Takahashi sensei designed for the new series.
    The new hero is 遊戯十代 "Yugi Juudai (or Judai)" and the story will revolve around a duelist trainig school.

    The notable fact is about the hero's name. He has "Yugi" as his family name. It seems he has nothing to do with Mutou Yugi or his family. As for his given name, "Juudai" means "teenage" but contrary to the youthful meaning, it sounds like he is an old-fashioned samurai or something to me due to its homophone which means "of great importance, serious, severe" or "critical"

    I think this is good news because it is time for Yu-Gi-Oh! to end. It means it will end before it gets dumb and repetitive. Of course that isn't to say certain eps already were repetitive, but things really spiced up in the Pharoah's Memories arc.

    I'll definitely give this new series a chance just to see what it is like, and because it seems to be quite different.

    So it's just a matter of time before this gets animated and the R series running in V-Jump gets called off then.
     
    WOW! I was pretty taken back by this news O_O Noooot sure yet whether I like the idea or not since it seems to be only about dueling and I was one who prefered the Yu-Gi-Oh storyline and background of Ancient Egypt rather than the actual duels... to me if the show concludes the same way as the manga did it seemed very final I mean they lost everything that made Yu-Gi-Oh what it was except the card game, no more Atemu, no more Millennium Items.... I honetsly think they should have stopped there even though I really like the show...
    ...so yeah I'll give it a chance when it airs and see what it's like...I just hope the older characters will at least be in it (*Bet ya even if they are they'll just leave poor Bakura out cos he's always left out of most things, poor guy ;_;*)

    Kinda strange, I have a habit of saying I don't see things happening then it does, it was only a few days ago I was saying that I don't think they'll make another season to Yu-Gi-Oh....
    ...it's like the time I said Torchic would never evolve ALL over again O_O;
     
    I am . . . disturbed by this news. XD There's going to be a manga of YGO *without* all the lovely characters who made up the original fandom?! I wonder if they're trying to start a big thing like with all the versions of Mobile Suit Gundam.
     
    Well unless you can read kani, you are going to have to wait...this is how it will go.....
    March 2005-Yugioh R gets animated as a OVA
    -June 2005- G reaches volume 3
    -November 2005- Volume 6 of G comes out as R OVA keeps going
    febuary 2006- R reachs the second part of its story...Grand priex arc
    November 2008- G reaches volume 18
    January2007- G finally gets animated
    Augast 2007- R OVA reachs the end of part one
    November 2007-R manga Ends.
    December 2007-R OVA counties with part 2
    January 2008- G gets translated into english in either manga or anime form ( most likley manga since the anime will only be around 60 something episodes) So there you go you have a looooong wait for it...at least you still got the R anime and the manga and about 70 or so episdoes of anime
     
    I've found a picture of it...surprisingly enough it wass the last page of volume 38...

    Anyways the girl is kaibas daughter and the guy with all the stars is Duke. The one right behind the one in the center (not the short one) is mokuba. The little one is a relative of yugi.

    ...immaturity set aside.. the girl actually looks more like Jounouchi, lol. And the guy with the stars doesn't look like Otogi... maybe with the weird eyeliner he might, but his face is off. =\ Haha... the short kid looks like Max from Beyblade. X3;; And where's Yuugi? ;_;
     
    You mean that there will be no millenium items, no tie in to egypt, and no yugi, tea, joey, tristan, bakura, mai, or any of those other characters? That's not good! I want those characters to stay! It just wouldn't feel right to change it so drastically that the only tie in is Kaiba and Mokuba!
     
    He isent in it...this is about a dueling school. I remember reading that the crator wanted something that could live on so...from now on there will allways be a diffrent yugioh sereis when this end they might stop for about a year or three then they will do anther one

    But yugi's teh king of games! Whether or not that happens,he should still be there. And what aobut Joey and the others? I myself ama a big fan of Joey, and I'm going to be upset to see him go. They shouldn't remove the other characters like that. At least in Digimon season two, all the other characters where there when tehy changed heroes. :\
     
    x_x; I didn't mind the alternate universe thing that was going on with R... at least it had Yami in it. But... I'm not sure how this one is going to be pulled off. =\ I won't judge until it comes out, though. Who knows? Maybe it'll be even better. <_<;;

    Myself, I'd rather just see all the characters back. I don't mind if it's actually the next generation and it mainly features their kids... I just like something to hang onto that's the same from the first series. =X (And preferably something that ISN'T Kaiba.)

    As far as I know that's a whole load of rumors at the moment based on what people have thought about the picture ^^; I haven't seen anything that's official on who they are. Personally I don't think any of those new characters are even related to the other characters.
    Anyway Kaiba is in the picture and he looks no different to what he did in the current Arc, he doesn't look old enough to have a daughter XD
     
    No man they shouldn't change the characters cus thats what makes the program good and Joey is funny because he's a joker and basically it is stupid to change any of the characters and they could easily make a new enemy and plus i like the point that Yugi Moto had the alter ego of his Millenium Puzzle Yami and thats what made it good so basically i think it is stupid

    Okay first of all that is not Kaiba that is Mokuba. And next it might have Yugi and the gang but just once in a while. If it does I wonder where Bakura would be in life? :\

    He's talking about the guy in the top left, not the tall guy standing next to duke. The tall guy is Mokuba, the one up in the top left corner is Kaiba. And he does not look any older than before. (Though it seems it took Mokuba forever to grow up.)

    And he may be dead, but he is still a spirit and it is his job to stop evil. as long as there is evil, his job is never done.

    I'm still a bit skeptical on any of those kids being related to the older characters, as I said I've only seen that mentioned in rumors and other guessing talk about the new show.
    Personally I can't see the resemblence your all seeing with the "Mokuba" and "Duke" characters.

    Besides ONE of those characters has to be "Yuuki Juudai" the new main character of the show and I would have throught it was the one with the Bakura like hair (*Or "Mokuba"*) since he's stood at the front and is basiclly the center of the group making most of the focus on him.
