Yugioh 5D's English Dub

    I remember months ago going on youtube and spending days on end just watching the Japanese (with English subtitles) Yugioh 5D's. I loved it. Right now, I'm watching the English version, which SUCKS! WHY ARE THE VOICE ACTORS SO BAD??!?!?!?!

    So, do you guys hate it as much as I do. Do you think the new actors ruin it? Doesn't that happen in every good anime. Sucks, doesn't it =/
     
    I agree, the voice acting does suck. Trudge's voice sucks the most.
    I think Yusei's voice is OK, but it's nothing special compared to some of the other famous English VAs.

    Surprisingly though I actually really like the show. I thought YuGiOh had died ages ago, but I started catching it early morning on cartoon network and loved it. It even made me start playing the card game again for like a half of a week with my little cousin.
    It definitely beats the hell out of DUEL ACADEMY YEAH GX anyways.

    They're doing a good job making new cards with this show, and keeping it interesting.
    The best thing about the show by far was the Joey Wheeler reference in the episode that the Black Rose appeared ROFL.
     
    No dan green no watch. Plain and simple. Mostly why I didn't watch GX. I guess I just liked the original too much.
     
    Since Yu-Gi-Oh is Japanese, regardless of the fact that this is discussing the dubbed English version of the show, I think this thread is best suited in Japanese Entertainment.

    IMO, Trudge''s voice is perfect.
    The voices are OK. They could be better though. Personally, I like Jack's accent. He reminded me of Vegeta from DBZ and Len from Shaman King (I've grown accustom to the Anti-Hero's turned Hero's having a british/austrailian accent). Anyway, you CANNOT say Roman/Rudger's voice is terrible, it was ace. So was Kalin/Kryu's and Crow's.

    Does anyone else think of Crow as a 5d's version of Joey Wheeler? lol Blackwings= 5d Red-Eyes. (jk)
     
    I couldn't stand an episode of the dub voices after comparing them to the Japanese voice actors. They lack the charisma that the Japanese have almost too much of.
     
    No jack is supposed to be like joey wheeler, but even that comparison cannot be made because the plot is way different than what old yugioh used to be.

    I myself download the subs or just watch them at other sites (youtube sucks big time).

    As for the English dub oh wow that thing sucks out loud. But i must say they hit it on the mark with the old mans voice..its soooo perfect. As for the first time i heard Jack atlas voice i was like wow so they made him Australian. In overal yugioh dubs in english always will suck in comparison to the original. But i am sure that if other well known companies picked up on the series that it would have a decent dubbing. I mean compared to Bleach's dubbing yugioh 5d's sucks.

    I find this amusing as like 3 of the main characters aren't even voiced by traditional seiyuu, just stunt casted people. >_>
