Yugioh: My new noob/Starter deck

    So I got my box of Yugioh cards out which also contained an unopened 5D's starter Deck with Road Warrior on it and decided to pick the game up again since my local game shop is having Advanced Contructed ever Friday. So I started to build a Machine/Dragon Deck hoping to get a few boosters once a week mainly Cybernetic Revolution/Zane Truesdal Duelist pack. So here's my new Deck, although I should add staples by buying a Marik Structure Deck for Mirror Force and that. And I'm not really counting on Syncro's

    Right, you need to decide what you really want first, if you want a Dragon deck, or a Machine deck. I'll give you a good deck list for each, but the two don't mix very well at all. Also, you are missing the biggest thing from you spells and traps... Staples! The best thing I see is Enemy Controller.
    Well, on with those two decks;

    Dragon Deck

    Obviously, there are a few cards in there that are very expensive, e.g. Solemn Warning, Pot of Duality. If you can afford to splash out or are lucky enough to pull them, they are very good cards to have.

    Machina Deck

    Well, that's that. Dragon and Machine decks don't mix well. You also can replace expensive cards with less expensive, less potent cards. Hope that helps!
     
    Play Six Samurai's and dominated your friends. If you want machines go for Machina deck, if you want dragons go for Dragunity Drive that's coming out.
     
    Thanks for the help I'm still struggling with which deck I should make but great help I may stick to Dragon and with for Dragunity Drive but I'm looking for Advance Construced play which is held every friday at my local game shop, there's also an convention coming to me that sells all the sets and the GX sets are the least expensive hmmm I might go back to and E-Hero Deck, and are there any good duo combo's for decks.
     
    If your going e-hero route, go play e-hero light beat. With E-hero the Shining and AB0 as your main e-hero fusions. If your going for Dragunity Drive, collect the Dragunity cards from HA3, get some staples, then buy 3 of the structure when it comes out then go from there.

    Well everyone here plays advance format, so everyone here can help you adjust your deck to the new March 1 banlist or you can just read the discussion about it on the other thread for it.
     
    I suggest you add 2 More Sakuretsu Armor, 1 Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute and/or Ring Of Destruction. Destiny Hero Defender has good defense but I hate the effect. But you can easily deck your opponent with Defender(I do that alot). Monster Reborn is limited to 1(I think). Fusions can work will it as well, some good fusions would be Destiny End Dragoon (Destiny Hero Plasma+Destiny Hero Dogma) (3000 ATK/3000 DEF), Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon(3 Blue Eyes White Dragons)(4500 ATK/3800 DEF) and Dragon Master Knight(Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon+Black Luster Soldier)(5000 ATK/5000 DEF). Also for a dragon deck, throw in Dark Paladin(Dark Magician+Buster Blader) (2900 ATK/ 2400 DEF) because of it's effect of raising it's attack for 500 ATK Points for each Dragon in either graveyard. I actually got to 7400 ATK thanks to the effect.

    1) Upstart Goblin is not needed in this kind of deck that relies on getting your opponents life points DOWN.
    2) Dark Hole is STAPLE now. You'd be a nub NOT to put it in.
    3) In case you didn't realise, he's decided on a completely different style of deck now, so this one is pointless to take further.

    Well, Sakuretsu armor is good, but there are better things, such as Solemn Warning, etc. Monster Reborn and Dark Hole = good. Blue-Eyes here, with E-Heroes? No. Dragon Master Knight = Bad. It is incredibly hard to Summon. You have to already have Blue-Eyes Ultimate successfully, and rituals are bad in a deck that doesn't utilise them. Dark Paladin is only against Dragons though, which no really plays competetively (well, from what I've seen), so its almost useless.

    But anyway, this deck isn't being rated anymore from what Dajman said, so just stop there.

    1) Yeah, but the draw power always works out for me
    2) No **** that's why I told him he needs it Dark hole/queen stack
    3) Good, deck was garbage. I'm a pretty competitive tourney player so I know a bit about these sort of decks.

    Well, for tourneys, not really any AWESOME Cyber decks. You could build a Machina deck with 3 Cyber Dragon in it, and use Chimeratech Fortress Dragon and Overdragon (perhaps even Cyber-Twin and Cyber-End if you really want to) with Future Fusion and Overload Fusion. Perhaps you could do a gadget swarm to be able to always summon a Cyber Dragon, but I'm not sure I'd recommend that. Use the Machina deck earlier as a guide if you want.
     
    SO I'll buy like 3 copies of Machiners Mayhem, cause thet's what my friends told me to do when buying structures, any idea where I can get more staples, also need to find Power Bond, Poly, Overload Fusion, Future Fusion, also getting Chimeratech Fotress for 3 dollars from my friend. Should I buy singles or take a chance with Zane's Duelist packs?
     
    Often times its better to buy single cards than take a chance with packs. Its almost gambling when buying packs, so I prefer to buy indivual cards most of the time. You COULD chance with Duelist Revolution for a chance at pulling Pot of Duality, and Solemn Warning. Mirror Force can be gotten out of the Structure deck Marik and so can Book of Moon. Solemn Judgment, well, just get one as soon as possible. Get two Bottomless Trap Hole cheap, from Ebay perhaps, or anywhere I think really. Seven Tools of the Bandit is cheap, and a must now, and Trap Stun is also very playable in this format. Trap Stun is quite a bit better in a lot of ways, but 7 Tools has its advantages as well though.
    Erm, you could start a new thread when you have the deck list. It'll be easier to see XD Anything else you want to know?
