Yugioh vs. Magic cards

Old skool vet eh Keitaro. XD Yeah I started only back in Odyssey (although some people criticized that statement, claiming that I started AT LEAST during an earlier set, apparently from my "experience"...I still don't understand why they said that tho...), so I wouldn't have known...but I still love my 3rd ed. Winter Orb all the same. :)

IMO Invasion is probably the best block tho...lol

I may be old school I guess but when all these new cards come out, I'm no better then a person just starting the game, heh. But I do have an unlimited Demotic Tutor I bought for $10.00, I don't know how much it's worth I just know they are hard to come by since I would of never ever of had a rare card like that during my younger years. Anyway I must of heard over a dozed people say Invasion is the best set, which I missed but my buddy has a completed set so I had a chance to see the cards in it. Personally I wanted to be around for the first unglued set, I managed to find an unglued infinite combo while toying around with some commons, using the Urza's Contact Lenses & the Lodestone Myr, lol you keep clapping your hands for as much power as you want. (Somebody most likely of though of that in the world of magic, but I'm just proud I thought of it with no help :D )

I would have to say Magic, it came out first and I still play it. With YGO once a brand new, broken card comes out (Yata, Emo, everyone wants it and will run the exact same deck, So YGO will come down to luck when playing seriously. Magic on the other hand has soo many cards that you could even make up your own combos etc.

It was the second card game I ever learned ho to play (After Pokemon) and it was the first TCG game ever, so I would go for Magic.

Naw it's all good man. nvasion was just cool, since it was one of the only times when casual and tourney players actually agreeing on the same things. :O

Yeah, it was thought of, but it's still cool (I remember when I thought of intruder alarm combos... :))

my cousin plays magic the gathering and yugioh but i prefer yugioh cause ive never lost
if i played magic the gathering i'd lose my title as card game champ

"I really don't think the ego should come in the way of which game is better. But then again it's personal choice anyway."

That is exactly why I play YGO. I have seen and played a number of TCGs, and YGO has for some reason just appealed to me. Sure, when you actually play the game, there is a lot more luck than I would like, but the actual game strategy is during deckbuilding. Before the banlist, cookie cutter chaos control (CCCC) dominated the game, and you had to have a specific deck configuration with no room for variation. Now with the banlist, CCCC doesn't dominate, but is still powerful. What is becoming more attractive now is CCCC with a personal variation. I call mine "not CCCC" to sound like I have a unique deck. It's about as unique as I can get but still being effective.

All in all, it doesn't matter what card game you play so long as you enjoy it.

OMG, Yugioh is way better then Duel masters, now that you guys have to agree on!

Since I know very little (read here: NOTHING) about Yu-Gi-Oh, I'll just stick with what I know and go with Magic: the Gathering.

I like both of them a lot....and pokemon.
they are both really fun.
tho i do like them Both very much,
i would have to choose yugioh for the simple fact that ive collected yugioh longer
and they are worth way more(unless you are one of the lucky few with a black lotus or something that is really sought after like my two kokushos)......and i finally have a tp4 morphing jar in my deck....and my deck full of nothing but really rare and valuable cards. (its kinda nice to collect for a while, then look at the value of your deck and know that it would be dificult for someone else to get a copy of the deck....in mtg if you collect for a long time and finally get all the cards you want in your deck to make it perfect, someone else can buy the same deck off of the internet for $30.)

but in magic's defense it is a lot easier to find people to play mtg against.
for example: my friend's DAD plays and has played since 1994.
Mtg does have a lot more strategy!!!

I've played them both and I have to say it's definetly Magic: The Gathering. I consider it a more mature game, because it requires a lot more strategy in the deck building as well as in the game itself. Also the cards are balanced well, sure you can still whipe out the whole arena out of creatures with Wrath of God, but it costs decent amount of mana, unlike in YGO where you can just throw in the big cards without any drawbacks. Sure, there have also been unbalanced card combos, but they have been sorted out by the ban list. So definetly Magic is the game :)

i only know how to play yugioh...so i'd go with that...but where i live, magic seems to be more popular (as in liked)
