Rey made his way quietly down the street, a young boy at his side. The boy tilted his head slightly, allowing his brown hair to partially cover his green eyes as he stared inquiringly up at Rey. Feeling the boy's gaze, Rey turned toward him.
"What is it?" Rey questioned.
"You're not speaking. What are you thinking?" the youth questioned.
"Well . . . " Rey said slowly, his gaze remaining on the brown-haired child. ". . . It's been almost a day since we've met. And, you're still here. This whole thing--the Mamodos, the battle . . . it's beginning to feel more real. Although . . . sometimes I almost expect to wake up from this dream."
"Lightpole," the boy replied calmly.
"Wha?" Rey asked, confused.
His expression impassive, the boy repeated, "Lightpole."
Suddenly, Rey fell back as he felt a steel bar strike him in the face. From his position on the ground, the student stared up at the object he had walked into. It was a lightpole. Placing his hand against his injured forehead, one of Rey's emerald eyes twitched slightly. "Eheh . . . "
"I warned you," the child said noncholantly as he continued to walk.
"Yeah, thanks . . . " Rey mumbled, slowly standing.
