Zoo Tycoon series

Now that they have it for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, let's discuss this newly revived series. This includes the two previous games for PC, and their DS spinoffs.

I like the second one for PC the best. But the original is very nostalgic.

Oh my god i played this game so much in my childhood. I loved this game a lot, mostly not doing what this game is actually meant for (killing everyone and placing buildings everywhere). It was tons of fun ^_^

I loved the original zoo tycoon for the PC. That was my go to game for many years to kill boredom. I actually completely forgot about it until I saw this thread, I need to try it out again.

I played a lot of the original and the 2 expansions for the game (marine mania and the dinosaur one) Amazing game

I used to play the original all of the time as a kid! I might play it again now that my interest was sparked! I have the Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection which has the original, both expansion packs (Marine Mania and Dinosaur Digs), and "also comes with the Endangered Species Theme Pack, featuring a dozen unique animals, 40 objects, and 3 new scenarios, plus bonus animals available for download". It usually costs $10 - $15 so if you already have the original, but also want the expansion packs, this collection is well worth it!

Well I played the 2nd ones and they were great, although the full 3D didn't work as well as the original. By didn't work I don't mean my computer couldn't handle it, I just mean I enjoyed the gameplay more on the original. Although I will say that Zoo Tycoon 2 did a nice job with the whole look of the game. Many old tycoon/RTS games tried to go fully 3D and it basically killed the series, but ZT pulled it off. I bet the Xbox version is good as well, but I'm not a fan of any simulation/management games on a console.
