Victory Medal's will be MINE !
    Spoiler:

What are your opnions on victory medal and how many do you reckon would be needed ? I plan on running 3-4 since they can be a massive help with junk arms and draw into them more often with those hand refreshing supporters such as POTN and Junipers. Also I may add cleffa back into the deck, just in case of that unwanted situation where you may draw into no supporters, but plenty of energy/trainers. Also have to find the space for them >_>

I'd say that given specifically Durant, you should NOT be attempting to run victory medals in the current format, and seeing how the format is going to change, there will be even less point. It's an okay card, but around the $30 a piece that they cost to get, you might as well just be investing in a Tropical Beach, which is still not a good investment because it will be outclassed by a much easier-to-obtain stadium a few sets down the line.

Tropical Beach is alot more expensive than Victory medals, last time I checked on ebay they were going for $50+ each. I picked up a playset including postage for around $70-80, not to mention your opponent can utilise the stadium to their advantage as well. Durrant isn't a match up that I'm concerned about, it's not that popular in the UK and it hasn't topped any events locally. Most likely my common opponents will be Reshipholosion/Zekrom with Eels and Donphan variants. I know it may be a chance card but drawing 1 isn't bad and getting 2 heads will secure the card I need to search for during the game. Personally I feel the card is worth using in the deck for the city championships and I'll let you know how that goes in a upcoming tournament report.

I'm not saying by any means that Durant is going to be popular, but there's always the chance that there's that one guy who runs it just to ruin your matchups.

The biggest downfall I see with Electric builds are mirror matchups and Donphans. The issue is that Tornadus will counter the Donphans, whereas mirror matches will take advantage of his weakness for an easy prize.

Getting trainer locked is also an issue, because either way there's a Reuniclus involved, and it's going to be Gothitelle that will always have that frustrating 10HP left OR Donphan grabbing 2HKOs until it can Heavy Impact for 1HKOs.

Victory Medal really just doesn't have a place in the current format, overall.

Thanks for the suggestions, but this deck is all about the early game trying to utilise donks and quick setups for damage. As much as I'd like a water pokemon to counter fire decks, there isn't a huge amount of space and running lanturn prime would make the deck alot slower and reduce the speed on the setup. Trainer lock decks usually need 3 turns before their lock hits in and usually by turn 3 and this deck excells the most during those 3 turns, usually hitting for 80 or 120 damage by turn 2/3. The Durrant match up isn't one I have tested against, but I've seen durrant match ups played out and I have a fair idea of how to play against them.

I have to rely purley on speed advantage and the hands I'm dealt with POTN/Junipers and play out the best attackers as possible against the mirror match or any deck for that matter.
