...how has this been in Other Games so long? It doesn't go here.

Ugh I don't even know where to put it. :( Let's toss it in Japanese Entertainment and see where it goes from there.

The Digimon anime is way better than Pokemon. All the seasons are great, just some more so than others.

And since I haven't played any Digimon game exept the boring Digimon World and pretty good Rumble Arena, Pokemon has the advantage there.

Yup, I also liked Digimon Dusk and I don't even think that Pokémon Diamond is sooo much better than it. xD
Maybe it's all the trouble to go through and the diligence required what turns some people off, or those Pokemon fans who stereotype Digimon as an unworthy rival.

To maximize level and stats, you have to De-digivolve them and retrain as the level cap increases. Also Digivolution branches out more than Pokemon will ever do. Exploration areas are easier to get lost in, and there's no real safe zone from wild encounters. You choose your own missions for rewards such as BITS (Digimon currency) or tamer points. Yet, ranking up as a tamer is completely optional. You customize a farm (the Digimon way of a PC Box) to train them, while making sure they have enough harvest for their own food, the appropriate training equipment, and an environment they can enjoy.
In Championship, you get to do a lot more things by hand, like a return to the Tamagotchi method. Feed them, clean up after them, give them rest, catch new ones via traps and rope, but they Digivolve by themselves. Perhaps there is more, but I only started playing it today.

Pokemon's the more straightforward. Beat the gyms, make your Pokemon stronger to beat others; and for the fans of them, breed until perfection, do Contests, or hunt Shinies.

Also right now I dislike you people who do not give reasons for your hatred against Digimon. .__.

When did Digimon become a rival to Pokémon? You can't have a rivalry between a successful, record breaking franchise and, for the most part, a dead franchise.

Anyway, I choose Pokémon animation wise. While Digimon got worse from the first season on, Pokémon got better. Game-wise as well. Digimon games don't even get advertised that often on most media while Pokémon does.

Digimon has the better anime, Pokemon has the better games.

But now Pokemon has Giratina, so Pokemon wins :)

Meh I've had some experience with the Pokemon and Digimon anime and I'm going to need to say Digimon wins this round ( as long as Season Five doesn't count -_-").

But in the gaming section even though I've played my fair share of Digimon games I'm gonna need to say Pokemon wins.

For the sake of the people I'm going to vote Digimon also people PLEASE stop bashing Digimon for have never experienced it.

Game-wise, I'd have to say Pokemon. Much better than the Digimon games. Anime-wise though, Digimon by miles. I've always had a fond love of the series. The characters are much more interesting, as well as the storylines. The third season's writer usually writes darker themes, and worked with Neon Genesis Evangelion (my favorite anime <3), so that's a total awesome plus towards Digimon for me. :P

Omg I loved those Chaos monsters so much in Digimon Tamers. They're incrediably creepy, which makes them cute <3

Digimon Season 3 was definitely the best I've seen. Better than Data Squad.

Well, I have to say that Pokemon is better than Digimon.

Because they both have similarities and differences.

    The similarities are as follows:
    Both Pokemon and Digimon evolve.
Both Pokemon and Digimon accompany their destined trainer/chosen one.
    They both have attacks etc.

    Differences:
Digimon protect their world while Pokemon compete.
The Digidestined "Chosen Children" in Digimon only have one Digimon while Pokemon trainers can collect an infinite number of Pokemon.
The Pokemon Games/Anime etc. have Gym Leaders that have badges that enables the trainer to beat the leader in order to obtain that badge while Digimon go on adventures and save the world from destruction etc.
In Pokemon, they have the Pokedex that fills information about a certain Pokemon while in Digimon have Digivices that selects the Digimon and their chosen one to be transported to a digital world and to be destined with their Digimon Partner.

This is just my opinion. I was a fan on Digimon and Pokemon at one time. =P

I hate to say it, but you have some facts mixed up there. You're thinking of Chiaki J. Konaka, who was a writer for Serial Experiments Lain, which, like Digimon Tamers, is often compared to Evangelion.

Still, in terms of awesomeness and vision, Lain is up there with Eva. If you haven't seen it, you definitely should.
