  • As promised, here's Enigma's SU

Real Life Name: Anton Von Seigfreid
    Username: Ubel
    Alias: Enigma
    Gender: Male
    Age: 17
    Country: Germany
    Status: Player Killer/Beta-Tester

    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

Anton is of average height, at 5'9", yet almost sickly skinny. Despite his seemingly weak frame, though, he is by no means helpless, as he uses this to fuel his acrobatic style. He makes it a point to always be wearing a cape, no matter the occasion.

Personality: Anton is perhaps one of the most jolly people one might meet in SAO. He is unconcerned about the permanent death mechanic, thinking it pure genius on the creator's part. He may have misunderstood, though, as he believes that killing a player only destroys their avatar, at which the player will no longer be able to play. A true survival rpg, in his words.

As for his mentality towards others, Anton is very friendly. Some might even say too much so. However, behind the face that seems to trust everyone, Anton only sees others as pawns to be manipulated. He ranks people based on their potential strength, something he is quite skilled at, and associates with those that best meet his ends.

In the game, Anton plays as an assassin. One that hunts down specific players and kills them for money. He is not yet associated with a murder guild, thinking that their hierarchy is a tad too strict for a free spirit like him, but he has yet to reject the idea wholeheartedly.

History: Anton never was much of a gamer growing up. His days mostlt consisted of school, housework, and private tutorin, in that order. His father was an ex-general who had moved to Germany after serving most of his life under US citizenship; his mother was a gentle, kind woman that he had met upon arriving.

However, when Anton caught wind of a gaming system that involved being fully unconscious to the outside world, he saw an escape from his boring, rigorous life in the real world. It remained a secret from his parents, that helmet, that portal to a new world, for several months. More than enough time for him to gather quite a bit of play time on a game he had purchased with the NerveGear called Sword Art Online: Beta. It captivated him from his first moment, that such a game could be so realistic.

Then, around the time he reached level 5, he discovered that there was another version of the game coming out, a bigger, better, and more complex one. He was one of the first in line for what he now knew was the full version of the game that had taken the world by storm.

It then came to pass that Anton, going now by Ubel, became trapped within the game, along with some ten thousand other players. Despite the fact that Kayaba explained that death was eminent to them all, Ubel was happier than ever. "Death" was a more than acceptable payment for finally being free! His life was his own to pursue! So long as he didn't die in the game, there was nothing his deceitful, pain-in-the-ass parents could do to stop him now!

And so he did pursue his own destiny. He fell into player killing after a run in with another red player, whom he defeated with some ease. Seeing now that the players were the most powerful opponents in the game, he stalked them as a predator stalks prey, the largest prey around.

    Skills:
    -Weapon:
    •One handed dagger

    -Combat:
    •Parry

    -Non-combat:
    •Alchemy

    -Passive:
    •Hiding
    •Night Vision

    Sword arts:
•Assassination: Only usable while successfully <<Hiding>>. The user's dagger glow blood red, and a penetrating stab is made at the target's back. A successful hit will cause extra damage, at the expense of a long cooldown of five minutes.

•Whirlwind Strike: The user's blade glow whitish green, and the user attacks several times in a row, spinning as they do.

    Level: 17

This part seems a little strange to me, if only because those who played the beta were selected, they didn't buy the game. I'd imagine that SAO was just called SAO and it was in its beta stages.

...Well, actually, that's not what seems strange to me, that's just something that doesn't coincide with the canon. What's strange is that he "discovered there was another version of the game coming out; a bigger, better, and more complex one." There were differences between SAO's beta and the main game, sure, but it was mostly the same game. Probably the most major changes were the death traps and the lack of a logout button. Apart from that, it's the "he discovered" part that gets me. This coupled with the whole "SAO: Beta" thing seem to indicate that the beta and the full release being different games. The reason this is a problem is because the beta exists to gauge whether the game is balanced, full, bug-free, and ready for release.

  • Real Life Name: Kai Fei (Family last name changed)
In-game name: Coffee (References his personality, and his name sounds like the Chinese Kafei)
    Gender: Male
    Age: 22
    Country: United States
    Status: Player

    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

Personality: Kai is energetic and easily excitable. In real life, he was prone to getting in fights very easily. In game, he enjoys fights just as much and relishes in the freedom of the game. Kai is prideful and arrogant, and has no chance of running from a fight on his own accord. He isn't a calm individual, though he isn't easily angered. Instead, he gets easily excited, and his spirits get high. When he does get excited, he becomes incredibly focused (or tunnel visioned) and tends to fixate on sating himself. This state of mind was controlled with medication in real life (the medication makes him considerably less spirited), but in-game it is very prominent. His knowledge of the game is above average, and has a good connection with the merchants and the information brokers.

Kai is kind and inspiring, and will not hesitate to help with words. If you need his physical help though, don't expect it to come cheap, as he charges for his services. Additionally, his respect is not easy to gain, as he only values players that are strong or brave (the players who stayed in the starting town are the worst scum in the game to him). To him, being a coward or being weak is a crime as bad as betrayal or murder. Still, if he senses that a weaker player is willing to get stronger, then he will be extremely supportive and help without hesitation (well, bar the fee, which ranges from gold and items to future favors).

Kai is mostly nocturnal, working and grinding during the night. He prefers the look of the stars and night sky over the sunny sky, and also values the ability to train his Night Vision. Kai believes himself to be one of the brightest people in the game (in terms of spirit, not intelligence) and tried to get the name Sirius, but it was taken. His voice is loud and manly, and he tends to sound like he is yelling compared to other people.

He is the leader of a guild of freelancers, "Stars of Aincrad" which only recruits members Kai deems as "brave enough". He personally does not group with many of them, as they tend to work during the day. The guild owns two houses, one in Tolbana and one in Urbus (the latter is considered the "main" house, and is where Kai picks up most of his jobs). Kai states that the purpose of his guild is to "Show every player and guild what it means to be bright". The guild actually does a lot of player services, between information gathering and resource collection to escorting and dungeon clearing. They are also known for their fights within the guild, which are all settled in town squares as entertainment. Kai encourages this and is undefeated within his own guild. Kai knows each member personally, and all of them look up to him as a competent leader as well as a trusted individual. Kai in return trusts every member.

History: In real life, Kai has always been a delinquent. Most of his offenses come from fights, in school, on the street, and in unsanctioned alley fights. His parents are incredibly well off, so many of his offenses are looked over, or bribed away. Still, despite his rich family, he refuses to be spoiled and as soon as he moved out, he refused any give-outs from his parents. He found work at 14, and continued to work throughout school, priding himself in any job he has done, and doing any job to the best of his ability. He saved up every dollar and moved out as soon as he was 18, never looking back. He began to take medication for his fits of excitement after moving out to avoid trouble. Incredibly social, he made a wide range of friends, both in real life and in video games.

Kai had always been into video games since he was a kid. He never identified as a "gamer" because he found life to be more appealing but, after taking the medicine, he became more addicted to video games, seeing the world as bland and boring. When he learned about Sword Art Online, he pulled many strings that his parents had to get himself and a group of eight friends a copy.

In game, he and his friends joined a guild together early. Kai wasn't the original leader, being too mellow and quiet, but after the lock-in occurred, he went a few days without medication and went back to his old ways. He found the current guild to be too boring and run by a coward, so he left. He created a new guild, and all of the members from the previous guild joined, with the old leader having to prove himself first. At first, all they did was kill monsters and prove to each other who was strongest by dueling in towns. The members became known for their combat, and began to get jobs from other players requiring their help.

Kai himself has recently taken a job that pays him for fighting on the front lines. Although his interest on the front lines has never been high, the job pays well by the floor, and the person who hired him struck him as an incredibly worthy individual.

    Skills:
    -Battle Healing
    -Night Vision
    -Tracking
    -One-Handed Curved Sword

Sword arts: Red Color. With one hand, Kai strikes a pose where he points his sword and face to the sky, and then looks at his enemy and strikes down with one arm. (Although entirely unnecessary, he also yells "Striked down by the stars themselves" occasionally).

  • I'm making my next post and I need to know...

Are there any specific rules for battles or Player Killer encounters, or should I just go with what I think is acceptable?

Not specifically, so long as you're not killing other players (PC players, that is) without their knowing.

But if something comes up, we'll just tell you after reviewing your post.

  • Aques Keus You character is accepted. I suppose you have a good reason why your character only has one sword art? Doesn't matter much though.

Did I miss anything else...? Can I get a small update? My health is still a serious problem so I have to stick with getting on only a few times a week.
