Layne was happy to see the confusion did in deed take place. But it still produced a little problem, as it's rage became more blind, yet more aggressive. The other Ariados once again went after Chunk, using Constrict, which was a killer move. And Chunk already sounded like he was in serious pain. Something hit Layne on the head.....but he had to shake it off, and almost ignore it as he heard his Partner...
"Hang, on Chunk! I'll be there-"
The confused Ariados got a lucky hit with Pin Missile, in the side of the head. Layne slowly got up to face the enraged Ariados. Layne spat out some blood, and focused. Water enveloped Layne, as he drew in air. Layne then jumped, and propelled himself through the water at the Ariados, in an Aqua Jet move. Upon contact with the ariados, Layne grabbed it, ad continued propelling toward a tree. Speeding up.
Contact.
Layne fell to the ground, a bit beat, but still conscious. The ariados also hit the ground, though not as lucky. Still alive, but knocked unconscious. Layne finally let out a brief sigh of relief.
"Stop it...! I can't handle it anymore..."
Layne looked over and saw Ariados constricting Chunk. "Dammit!"
Layne leapt to his feet, and though his own body pain was arguing against the actions he insisted on taking, Layne ran toward his partner. His paws charged up a Water Pulse, but he didn't fire. Firing now might put his partner in more danger. Layne let the water pulse fade away, as he quickly tried to think of something. But Chunk beat him to the punch, doing what appeared to be Thunder Fang into the Ariados.
The Ariados, loosened it's grip, and Chunk fell to the ground. The Ariados backed away , only to be met by Layne, who wasn't even using moves anymore. Layne just let loose a fury of punches into the face of the Araidos. The Ariados managed to block a few of the hits, but Layne didn't let up either way. He just kept punching, driving the Ariados back.
Finally the Ariados, managed to get Layne's body and throw him back. Layne was tossed a few feet back, and looked up to see Ariados' eyes glowing in attack for a sonicboom, which Layne reacted to by generating a sonicboom of his own.
The two attacks collided, causing an explosion and it fogged up the area. The Ariados looked around, hissing angrily. Layne had managed to hide himself briefly, for a quick breath. His legs and paws were shaking and begging for rest. Layne couldn't give them that. He'd have to keep going. He hadn't had this much action since Treasure Town's expedition he went on about a year and a half ago. These corrupt pokemon were definitely a challenge to keep in mind.
Layne finally made his move. He moved from his hiding place, and shot water gun at the Ariados. The Ariados, showed little effect, and went for Layne again. Layne jumped and dove for the ground. He broke the ground beneath his paws and dug inderneath. The ground was corrupt, and mingled with the water from the spring. So Layne couldn't spend much time under here. He just felt vibrations n the ground and dug up. The Ariados was underneath him, and Layne executed his dig move. The Ariados went flying. As he flew up, Layne charged up the Water Pulse again, and shot it. The Ariados fell to the ground, unconscious...and so did Layne, only he was awake.
He had not battled so hard in a while, or in his life maybe. Blood still dripped from his left arm, inside his body, and parts of his lower back, but he was still breathing, and was still conscious. As for Chunk.....
Dear Lord, where was he?
Last time he saw Chunk, he was by the side of the lake after being dropped by that Ariados' constrict. Layne stood up and made his way through the fog. He looked over on the other side of the springs, and saw the other Ariados.
Layne did not want to fight anymore. He was worn, and his legs couldn't find anymore adrenaline to give him energy. Fortunately, the other Ariados didn't seem that interested in fighting either. Perhaps it saw the downed bodies of its two other partners, and felt fear, that or it just was finished taking a beating, or just didn't see Layne, though Layne knew he saw him, because the Ariados gave a sharp angered hiss in their direction.
Layne's hopes had been answered. The Ariados, though still corrupt, had not risen from the water as some giant mutant or anything. It still looked beat, and it still looked tired. In fact, the only thing Layne could think of that the water did was revitalize the corruption in the body.
Layne finally found Chunk. "You okay? Layne asked, hoping for at least some little movement.
((OOC: I'll let you post before I take any further action. lol))
