• Zeke still felt like Leigh hated him. but not as bad. He then jumped back to the idea that Specter could speak.

"Specter when did you start speaking?" Zeke looked to Specter

"i don know. after the battle. after I got hit by psyco shock." Specter shrugged.

"hmmm... any ideas Leigh. it was your attack..." Zeke didn't want to get to much into the battle, but wanted to know about Specter's odd case.

(also Specter and Zeke can't communicate through their minds anymore.)

  • "My name's Felicia, nice to meet you. What's your name?" Felicia replied while happily bouncing up and down. "I'm Alaska!" Alaska told her enthusiastically. Zeke told a story about his tribe while occasionally looking up at the sky and then down at the ground. What's he looking at?"...I see..." Leigh said back to Specter. "Either way, I'd like both of them to hear my message if that's alright with you. I really have no comment on him or this Zariant fellow right now." Leigh squirmed a bit, used recover and leaped out of Alaska's arms. "You look good as new!" Alaska told him. Leigh floated around in circles, and then eventually rested in Alaska's arms. He was healthy, but seemingly still tired.

"I'm glad you're okay, you had me worried. I wake up and find you hurt that's something I'd like not to happen again," said Felicia. "I normally don't let anyone hold me as you know. But I trust you'll be gentle," Leigh told Alaska. "You bet I will," she replied with a smile. "It was past noon last time I checked... ah! He might already be here by now!" Leigh exclaimed, remembering the time. "I shall go check. Don't forget what I said, Leigh. Zeke will have a hard time apologizing, but he surely wants to. Don't tell I said anything." Specter flew off.

"It's fine. There would have been an announcement and even though I can't hear I would have felt the vibrations so we're still good," Felicia told Leigh. Alaska watched Specter leave. She hoped Bruno hadn't left yet. "I say we all go to the meeting spot now. Better to go now then later," Leigh told everybody. "...That is... unless you want to wait till 5. I don't want to be stuck in this place for too long." Zeke suddenly appeared. "I am back, and I want to apologize, but I can't bring myself to say it yet. I don't fully know why I did what I did and I'm sorry it happened, but I do not wish for you to think of me as a dirty cheating fighter." Leigh stared coldly into his eyes and simply responded, "......Mmm. Alright then." Alaska looked down at him. If she were in his place, she would probably fight Zeke again right there. That was obviously not being a good sport, but the way Zeke acted earlier wasn't so wonderful, either. "Geez Sorry I've been hogging the spotlight. Heh," Leigh said specificly to his team. "I'll do my best to follow where ever you go Felicia. You're the Leader of the team after all." Zeke stepped back and looked at Leigh.

Alaska looked at Zeke but didn't say anything. She wondered whether he was truly sorry for what he did. Felicia smiled at Leigh and said, "It's fine Leigh, and I agree it might be best for us to head to the meeting spot now. Even if we did miss it at one at least we'll be there at five." Specter returned. "They're gone. The escort is gone. Zeke? Is that you over there?" Specter shouted to Zeke as he flew back over. "Leigh... I am sorry! I'll go against all my raising. I AM SORRY! I'm only as good as my friends and if I want to be strong then I want to be friends with you," Zeke shouted, running out of the shadows and standing in front of Leigh. "...Fine. Apology accepted. But just by a fine line. At least try to show me you mean it one day," replied Leigh from Alaska's arms. "Great... looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer... I doubt it's safe to try catching up to the escort now. Wish there was another way..." Felicia looked at him. "It's fine that we missed the escort it just gives us time to get to know each other better, and to be honest talking to Pokemon who don't discriminate me is a first."

"Specter, when did you start speaking?" Zeke asked, looking at Spector. "I don' know. After the battle. After I got hit by psycho shock," Specter replied with a shrug. "Hmmm… any ideas Leigh. It was your attack..." Zeke said. Alaska looked up at the sky too but just saw shapeless clouds. She looked at Zeke as he finished the story. Zariant was the strongest member of the tribe. Alaska couldn't really follow the story, so she didn't say anything.

(OOC: Sorry for basically repeating things, but there were parts I had to reply to xD )

  • (Specter told the story. Zeke was off who knows where blowing of some steam)

Specter started to think to what Alaska said before.

'She wanted to battle Zeke which was just about a ninty nine percent chance of fighting Zariant. After seeing what happened to Leigh I didn't even want to fight myself. Maybe I could figure it out. There has to be some kind of link between Zeke and Zariant.' Specter walked back to the tent and opened up some of His/Zeke's belognings.

Specter didn't stop until he had found a pendent in the same shape as the tribe's insignia. on the back was Zeke's life story comprised of anceint ruins that acted kind of like tallies. Zeke had done plenty of fighting, but it seemed odd who he had taken down. most of the marks were representing an elder scyther. Zeke's father.

  • It was rather remarkable how few other Pokemon had shown up to be lead to the guild. Well, maybe that should be re-phrased a little. Maria and Teddius were the only Pokemon which had turned up, minus the Hariyama and the Loudred which made their escorts. They must be re~eally early. Either that or all of the other Pokemon had given up, but who would in this kind of situation? The Corruption was becoming a huge problem, and every sane Pokemon should be doing their best to try and stop it. Still, it did show that maybe the two of them could get a head of the game a little since they were here early. Bruno grumbled something about the others being far too late for them and that the few four of them should be ready to leave for the guild right about now. So, the four of them took a steady pace through the thick undergrowth of the forest. After a rather long and boring trip, Bruno, Maria, Teddius and the Loudred slowly made their way into a clearing with a tiny spring located in the middle.

The was a slight rustling from the trees and hedges, causing Maria to spin to the sound. "Any idea what that was?" she asked with a single raised eyebrow. "Let's just hope it's not anything that wants to kill us, eh?"

It was. Leaping out of bushes came a swarm of insects, each and every one looking as ferocious as they ever could be. They had a slightly different colouring if one looked closely, which signalled one thing. Corruption. The other three sprung into action, tearing through the swarm as if it were butter. Teddius was dealing with a Ninjask of his own while Bruno and the Loudred were using some of their much more powerful attacks to strike through everything. Maria however was a little dumbstruck. She wasn't much of a fighter like the other three, being a much more effective support unit than anything else.

"NINJASK!" screeched one of the Bug-types as it smashed its body into Maria.

She was flung to the side but remained relatively unharmed. Maria managed to keep herself airborne which would save time and mean that she could create a more effective response to the situation. Pivoting on the spot and facing the Ninjask, it raised a claw and darted forward, probably performing a Scratch attack. Maria dropped a few feet and the Ninjask passed harmlessly above her, only to be caught in a thick yellow fog known only as Stunspore. The Ninja Pokemon coughed heavily, panting and wheezing for breath, before starting to lose its balance. Ninjask were lightning fast Pokemon, and this should slow it down a little and make fighting it easier. They both spun to glare at eachother, and a burst of green sphere were spat from Maria's mouth. A Bulletseed, which flew through the air and chipped away at the Ninja Pokémon's wing, although it was not a hugely powerful shot. The Ninjask tried a Fury Cutter, but it simply lacked the natural speed in which the Pokemon are known for, and Maria side-stepped (if that's possible mid-flight) and then darted forward to smash her body against the Bug-type. It worked surprisingly well, as the Ninjask fell to the floor, not quite knocked out, but still a little tired.

Maria grinned. "Yeah, one point for the good guys!"

There was a faint shift in the wind causing Maria to spin once more. Another Ninjask was flying towards her, scythes ready to tear through anything, mostly the tiny Grass/Flying type Hoppip. She glared at it with a little fear, but had a similar feeling which simply cheered her up. Maria knew a Psychic type attack called Confusion. She never knew how to use it, but always seemed to work at the most opportune times. Maria's tiny eyes burst into a vivid green, much the same colour as the leaves upon her head, and the limping Ninjask became engulfed in the same light. Perfect. Within seconds, and although Maria remains a little unsure of the details whenever she does use Confusion, the weakened Ninja Pokemon was flung into the stronger one, taking them both out and throwing them into the springs. Correction, two points for the good guys.

"Maria, where are you?" yelled Teddius.

This of course took the attention of another Ninjask. Darting towards her knew ally, Maria threw a cloud of green spores and pollen towards the new attacker, leaving it to fall to the side somewhat casually.

    "You rang?"

  • Zeke had asked Leigh who was getting comfortable about how psycho shock may have effected Specter's ability to talk. "Psycho shock is an attack that attacks another pokemon's mind using my own brain waves. It dosn't cause mental damage, I've practiced to make sure that it doesn't do such a thing.I honestly can't think of how it would effect both you and Specter" He explained.

By now Leigh had rested enough and floated off of Alaska's arms. He floated in circles to make sure he was in fit shape to move about on his own. "Thanks Alaska" Leigh told her. "You too Xell. You really saved my hide."

  • That wasn't the answer he wanted to hear. 'Hopefully nothing', as Layne had said, was almost the same as nothing to the Shinx, who was now facing the Ariados he had provoked by slamming against. No time to turn back.

From the corner of his eye, he saw that Layne had hit the other Ariados with Water Pulse; the Pokémon was pushed back for a moment, and wandering aimlessly before stumbling into a tree; it was obviously confused, even if it was about to set off, as the next time it tried to attack, it nearly missed a second tree.

It was only thanks to his sharp hearing that he heard his Ariados dashing towards him - and landing the hit, as Chunk was stabbed once more by the Poison Sting attack, this time on his most injured leg, which caused him to continue rolling on the ground even after being thrown back by the hit, crying out in pain.

The severe wound caused by a Manectric many years prior to him joining that team was bad enough on its own; it needn't another strike, especially not one like the Ariados's, which ended up injecting poison directly into the flesh.

"Darn darn darn...!" He cursed as he tried to shake the pain away. He could feel the throbbing pain as he struggled to remain conscious, or even aware of what was going on; but the pain... it wouldn't go! "Stop it...! I can't handle it anymore...!"

Even though his sight was beginning to become blurry, he could still see what the Ariados that walked towards him was up to; it was preparing nothing other than Constrict, as its legs started to surround Chunk and its fangs surrounded his neck in a choking manner.

"Let... go..." He tried to yell, but only managed to mutter in a weak voice. "Can't... bre-..."

With one last effort, Chunk directed whatever strength he had into his electric power, charging his own fangs with electricity before pricking them into the Ariados's head; hopefully, the move's effects and landing spot would magnify the results.

One thing was for sure; the foe dropped Chunk on the ground and backed away, trying to dissipate the electricity, leaving the Shinx to breathe heavily, attempting to stabilize his normal breathing pattern.

((OOC: Woo, the battle's getting epic xD

  • (Check the OOC for information on Retus. I've gotten permission to go through with this character.)

"Tsk. How long have I been on this pathway?"
    Retus thought to himself.

Day in and day out, His mission was to ambush anyone taking the path to the guild. A small task, but he has been successful in taking out a few Pokemon himself, Causing them to become Corrupt. It had just struck one o' clock. Bruno and the teams he may have been escorting might have already been on their way. This was Retus's cue to take his place and get whatever saps he can find to follow him.

Retus had been spending some of his time watching one team squirm at the feet of several Corrupted Ariados. He had a good view of everything as he sat atop of one of the dead trees. This team had been faring well against the corrupt Ariados but it wouldn't be long till the two would lost their minds to the corruption. Retus would have loved to go down there and finish the job but he still needed to keep a low profile. As far as he's concerned, The guild doesn't even know that Retus is even nearby.

It was time to move on to Lakeside. Retus glowed with a dark aura around him as he zipped down from his location, Landing on the Buizel's head to annoy him, And dashing off at blinding speed. As soon as Retus had gotten away from the scene, He continued to walk along the dieing path toward Lakeside. A wanted poster with his face had been put on a signpost along the way. "Haha, Man they got my look perfect. Cracked eye and everything." He said with a large grin as he crumpled up the wanted poster and threw it into a dead grass patch.

"I must be getting popular around here. That would certainly be bad for business." Retus said to himself. As he stared at the torn up piece of paper, a Corrupted Beedrill attempted to sneak up on him. The loud buzzing gave the corrupt Beedrilll away easily. Leigh prepared to Detect its next move. As the Beedrill attempted to sting Retus with his extremely sharp stinger. Before the stinger made contact with Retus, He immediately opened his hand at the Beedril and used Shadow hold. The enraged Beedrill was left floating in the air completely motionless. Giving off an extremely large grin, Retus walked away and Left the Beedrill trapped until it could break free.

Along the way he noticed a group of four pokemon battling a swarm of Corrupt Ninjask. One of those pokemon was Bruno. It was no wonder that they were doing so well. A bunch of bugs were no match for Bruno, Or the loudred he was partnered with. The other two were a Hoppip and a Teddiursa, which were also managing well against the swarm. "Really... Ninjask? They won't last 5 seconds." He thought. Going off the main path and around the group at blinding speed. As far as he was concerned, All four of them were probably too distracted to notice.

As soon as Retus passed by the group, His hand began to glow with a dark aura as he pointed toward the battle scene. "Could use a bit more..." He thought to himself, pointing toward where he had wanted more corrupted pokemon to meet up at. Hopefully Retus's presence would have attracted some more Ninjask to overwhelm them. Retus predicted that both of the teams would most likely be gone on the way back.

Tearing up wanted posters along the way, Retus eventually arrived at Lakeside. He explored a bit to find a team that he could escort.

  • OOC: I DEMAND you reply at the very second I post. lol. Everyone has a life, so take your time. It's not like you disappeared for like a week without telling anyone. And you lucky bastard, getting black before me. I'm getting White tomorrow or Monday.Check back every now and then lol

    IC:
Layne was happy to see the confusion did in deed take place. But it still produced a little problem, as it's rage became more blind, yet more aggressive. The other Ariados once again went after Chunk, using Constrict, which was a killer move. And Chunk already sounded like he was in serious pain. Something hit Layne on the head.....but he had to shake it off, and almost ignore it as he heard his Partner...

"Hang, on Chunk! I'll be there-"

The confused Ariados got a lucky hit with Pin Missile, in the side of the head. Layne slowly got up to face the enraged Ariados. Layne spat out some blood, and focused. Water enveloped Layne, as he drew in air. Layne then jumped, and propelled himself through the water at the Ariados, in an Aqua Jet move. Upon contact with the ariados, Layne grabbed it, ad continued propelling toward a tree. Speeding up.

    Contact.

Layne fell to the ground, a bit beat, but still conscious. The ariados also hit the ground, though not as lucky. Still alive, but knocked unconscious. Layne finally let out a brief sigh of relief.

"Stop it...! I can't handle it anymore..."
Layne looked over and saw Ariados constricting Chunk. "Dammit!"
Layne leapt to his feet, and though his own body pain was arguing against the actions he insisted on taking, Layne ran toward his partner. His paws charged up a Water Pulse, but he didn't fire. Firing now might put his partner in more danger. Layne let the water pulse fade away, as he quickly tried to think of something. But Chunk beat him to the punch, doing what appeared to be Thunder Fang into the Ariados.

The Ariados, loosened it's grip, and Chunk fell to the ground. The Ariados backed away , only to be met by Layne, who wasn't even using moves anymore. Layne just let loose a fury of punches into the face of the Araidos. The Ariados managed to block a few of the hits, but Layne didn't let up either way. He just kept punching, driving the Ariados back.

Finally the Ariados, managed to get Layne's body and throw him back. Layne was tossed a few feet back, and looked up to see Ariados' eyes glowing in attack for a sonicboom, which Layne reacted to by generating a sonicboom of his own.

The two attacks collided, causing an explosion and it fogged up the area. The Ariados looked around, hissing angrily. Layne had managed to hide himself briefly, for a quick breath. His legs and paws were shaking and begging for rest. Layne couldn't give them that. He'd have to keep going. He hadn't had this much action since Treasure Town's expedition he went on about a year and a half ago. These corrupt pokemon were definitely a challenge to keep in mind.

Layne finally made his move. He moved from his hiding place, and shot water gun at the Ariados. The Ariados, showed little effect, and went for Layne again. Layne jumped and dove for the ground. He broke the ground beneath his paws and dug inderneath. The ground was corrupt, and mingled with the water from the spring. So Layne couldn't spend much time under here. He just felt vibrations n the ground and dug up. The Ariados was underneath him, and Layne executed his dig move. The Ariados went flying. As he flew up, Layne charged up the Water Pulse again, and shot it. The Ariados fell to the ground, unconscious...and so did Layne, only he was awake.

He had not battled so hard in a while, or in his life maybe. Blood still dripped from his left arm, inside his body, and parts of his lower back, but he was still breathing, and was still conscious. As for Chunk.....

    Dear Lord, where was he?

Last time he saw Chunk, he was by the side of the lake after being dropped by that Ariados' constrict. Layne stood up and made his way through the fog. He looked over on the other side of the springs, and saw the other Ariados.

Layne did not want to fight anymore. He was worn, and his legs couldn't find anymore adrenaline to give him energy. Fortunately, the other Ariados didn't seem that interested in fighting either. Perhaps it saw the downed bodies of its two other partners, and felt fear, that or it just was finished taking a beating, or just didn't see Layne, though Layne knew he saw him, because the Ariados gave a sharp angered hiss in their direction.

Layne's hopes had been answered. The Ariados, though still corrupt, had not risen from the water as some giant mutant or anything. It still looked beat, and it still looked tired. In fact, the only thing Layne could think of that the water did was revitalize the corruption in the body.

Layne finally found Chunk. "You okay? Layne asked, hoping for at least some little movement.

((OOC: I'll let you post before I take any further action. lol))

You really saved my hide," Leigh told Xell. Alaska started to get a bit worried. She had a feeling the escort was gone, and wasn't sure if they would be back. She turned to Zeke. "Zeke, we should really get going now," Alaska said, not wanting to explain more-- it should have been obvious. She waited for an answer, until she saw a Sableye with a cracked eye wandering around. Who was that? Was he in another team? Alaska let her personality get the better of her and she quickly ran over to him on all-fours. "Hi! Are you looking for your team?" Alaska asked him.

  • Leigh was glad things were settled between the two teams, But now both of them would have to wait for the next escort. Zeke having a tent set up was very good timing. It looks like they would all be there for quite awhile. Alaska had wandered off as she spotted a Sableye with a cracked eye in the distance. "A cracked eye..." Leigh thought. He was curious as to how that might have happened. He followed Zeke into the tent to ask a small favor. "Um... Zeke, Do you think we could stick around a till 5? You kinda owe our team at least that much." Leigh said to him with a smirk.

    ----------------------------

Retus continued to wander around the lakeside doing his best to remain anonymous. He had torn up several wanted posters so for now, He was likely safe. He searched all over for an exploration team that he could bring along. When he paused a bit to think, Retus jumped as something snuck up behind him and said... "Hi! Are you looking for your team?"

Retus turned around and noticed a female sneasel that had the tip of her feather torn off. As soon as he saw her, Retus froze for a good 5 seconds. The sly devil had instantly become attracted to her. After Giving off a smirk, He finally replied to the Sneasel. "Oh... um... Why hello there." He said with a very sly voice.

"I am looking for a team actually... I'll go into details later. Whats your name?" He said giving off a suggestive look. Retus had also let his personality get the better of him but still knew he had a mission to finish. He simpily waited for the Sneasel to reply.

Alaska eyed him for a few moments and smirked, noticing the mischievous nature of this Sableye. "My name is Alaska," she replied. "What's yours?" Alaska stepped forward and put her face right in front of his. She narrowed her eyes to get a better look at his face and eyes. "You're a cunning one. I can see it," she said in a monotone.

All of the sudden, Alaska darted toward a Sableye with a slightly cracked gem-eye, although Xell didn't notice. Immediately, Xell took a disliking to the Sableye. He seemed shady to Xell. Don't be like that. Be polite. Xell though, losing his better judgement in favor of courtesy.

Xell propelled himself over to the two Dark-type Pokemon, feeling a natural protective instinct for Alaska. Alaska, being her hyper-active and friendly self, had started up a conversation with the mysterious Sableye. The Sableye himself was head over heels for Alaska, apparent by his wide smile and the glimmer in his eyes. Xell butted into the conversation, responding to a question which was not his. "And I'm Xell." he responded, surprisingly aggressive and out of place for the Pupitar.

  • Alaska was her name. A fine one indeed. After Alaska asked for his own name, She leaned forward with her face in front of him. "You're a cunning one. I can see it" Alaska had told him. Retus began to blush now. He thought that he might actually have a chance with this one. But before Retus had a chance to be an annoying flirt, A pupitar butted in on the conversation and had introduced himself as Xell. "Hmph... way to ruin the moment buddy..." He thought to himself.

"The name is Retus." He said, giving a slight accent to his name. "I'm more of a wanderer that is willing to offer services to various pokemon. Anything you need, I'll be happy to give. Items, information, Or perhaps being a travel companion... some help throughout these corrupted lands?" He told the two of them with a smirk.

"Well, where's your rescue group?" she asked, wondering what he would respond. The defensive side of her was starting to kick in. She looked at Xell as if saying, "He must be up to something." Even though he did seem very strange, they needed an escort. Retus was the only guy they had for that, since Bruno must've been long gone by then.

  • It seemed both of them began to be unsure of Retus's ability as an escort. "comon Retus snap out of it. Your losing them!" He thought to himself. Retus remained cool about the situation. "Other members of my team are elsewhere. Right now, I'm just being a helpful citizen." He replied to Alaska. "Hey! I know what your all thinking. How in Arceus's name can this little runt be as effective of an escort as that Big muscle headed Bruno fellow?

The shadow below him began to extend as he preformed shadow sneak to move through the shadows and appear right behind both Xell and Alaska. "I've escorted my fair share of exploration teams. And I can handle a couple of pokemon that aren't right in the head." Retus was being a total showoff now. Hopefully this would keep both of them interested.

"Well, where's your rescue group?" she asked, wondering what he would respond. And I can handle a couple of pokemon that aren't right in the head."

The sudden Shadow Sneak attack had shocked Xell. After his display of power and bragging, Xell turned to Alaska, giving her a look that said, "Do we trust this guy?" Xell was certainly interested in him, but his deliberation on whether to trust him was caused by his shady ways, quick movements, and sly talking. Xell glanced at the Pokemon who happened to be away from the Sableye. What would they think? Should I trust my gut instinct on this guy? Xell finally turned to the Sableye, trying to strike up a different subject. "Did you see Bruno anywhere? Or has he not come yet?"

He slipped into a shadow and traveled along the ground, appearing behind Alaska and Xell. Alaska turned and looked at Retus in surprise. Xell looked at her and gave her an unsure look. "I've escorted my fair share of exploration teams. And I can handle a couple of pokemon that aren't right in the head," Retus said slyly. "Well, shadow boy, I guess we have no choice but to follow you," Alaska replied, her voice sounding more confident. She knocked on Retus' head as if it were a door. "...Yup, I think you'll make a good escort."

  • Retus was begining to get annoyed by Xell. He had shown a little bit of what he was capable of and suddenly, is asked about Bruno's whereabouts. He realized that he didn't exactly trust him. A good start would be to be "Honest" With him.

"Bruno? Ah yes... I saw him on the way here actually, He's currently escorting another team to the guild. Who knows if he'll be back though. Anything could happen on the way there and heaven forbid something happens to them". He replied to Xell with a persuasive attitude. "I've had no problems escorting teams over to the guild. If I were more active around these parts, I'd be a fan favorite compared to Bruno"

Alaska, Looking more confident then before had replied, "Well, shadow boy, I guess we have no choice but to follow you". She then knocked on his head as if it were a door and had agreed to follow him. Retus had a large grin on his face. "Excellent! Glad you know talent when you see it" She told both the two of them. Retus put his arm around the back of Alaska's neck and continued talking, staring at Alaska every so often "I'm willing to take a few more teams with me. Tell your friends! The more the better eh?" He said noticing the nearby tent of pokemon.

(Sheesh Retus acts like such a flirt XD Let me know if I'm overdoing it XD')

"Zeke? You in here?"

  • Leigh peeked out of the tent to watch the Sableye, Alaska, and Xell converse with each other. Sableye seemed to be busy showing off as if he were trying to impress somebody. Alaska most likely. After punching the Sableye in the face due to his close distance, Alaska began to run back to the tent excitedly looking for Zeke. Leigh laughed in his mind at how badly that sableye had been owned. That Ice punch hit really hard. Leigh transmitted a message to Alaska's mind. Whats got you excited?"
    --------------

"Ah! Excellent! Now then... about..." Before Retus could finish, He was immediately punched directly in the face by a chilling ice punch. "Mmmph!!" Retus mumbled in pain as he fell backwards flat on the ground.

Alaska then went off to tell the pokemon that had been around the tent. His face was freezing cold from that last attack but he shrugged it off. "Note to self... Watch... distance..." He said to himself out loud still giving off a large grin. The blue glow in his eyes changed green as a sign of happiness.
