    OOC Thread here: https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?p=5451835#post5451835

    Plot:

Welcome to the Sinnoh region. A region of vast size and varying climates which makes it suitable for hundreds of pokemon to live safely. To the West, lucious forests and beautiful meadows. South, the wetlands and the more 'wet' surroundings. East we have the rocky, mountain terrain connecting to the Region's centre feature - Mt. Coronet. And to the North, the cold, snow covered valleys.

It has been approximately fifteen years since Lucas, Dawn and Barry each had their pokemon journeys and entered the pokemon league. Coming first, second and third respectively, each of them decided to head on to pastures new - exploring new places and catching new pokemon. Shortly after they left, however, tragedy struck.

Professor Rowan, the famous professor for all of Sinnoh, sadly passed away due to natural causes. This came as a huge blow to the region no doubt, and the Pokemon League even went as far as to cancel their next tournament in memory of him, to the dismay of others.

This caused the whole Sinnoh League to lose too much momentum. And slowly, challenger numbers decreased. Soon enough, gyms were facing budget cuts, their leaders leaving due to inactivity, and everything that was once great about the pokemon league in Sinnoh slowly shrank out of sight. The Pokemon League finally passed the difficult decision to cancel the Sinnoh League, instead letting trainers go to one of the other regions instead. Sinnoh spent as long as ten years without a league once more - practically lifeless. The only people who stayed in the region were those who lived there, or had businesses to run.

That was, until someone decided to step in.

Professor Alder, an old apprentice of the late Professor Rowan, had spent all this time working hard in the Sandgem Town lab. Not only about pokemon, but about Sinnoh's future. A number of calls were made, campaigns were started, funds were raised all across Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Orre, everywhere. Alder saved up these funds (aswell as a pretty penny from his own laboratory) and held meetings with Pokemon League officials. It took a long time - roughly two years infact - before an agreement was reached. The money was pumped into the Sinnoh League, and things were restoring. New Gym Leaders were called in (a few returned to their older positions), and new training facilities for pokemon were created. Pokecentres too were refurbished, and after a few months, things were ready to kick off again. Only one thing remained.

    Challengers.

    Where you come in:

You are one of these said challengers. While most others have caught and raised their own pokemon alone, you seek guidance. After all, you're still young, there has been no League most of your life (if not all of it). You do it the old fashioned way - you go to Professor Alder in Sandgem Town. From then on, you will have your own pokemon journey.

    Rules:

+ I am the GM. What I say is final.
+ Be respectful to other RPers when OOC.
+ I'll allow minor swearing. Feel free to censor if you want (ie, ***). Don't go overboard though.
+ Please, and I can't stress this enough, STAY ACTIVE. So many RPs have died due to inactivity, so only sign up if you can commit regularly. I'm not asking for a post every day, once a week minimum. If you need to be away for a while, let me know. I won't bite :)
+ Have fun. That's what this is all about after all.

    Format:

This is a Chapter RP. I give you a planned out route to follow, you do so.

If you wish to capture a pokemon, do as follows:

At the end of your post, finish with, "the pokeball began to roll side to side," or something like that. Depending on the quality of the battle, I'll allow or deny the catch. You get two tries at a catch. I'll allow shinies too, but you'll need one hell of a post. One shiny per RPer max.

    Starters:

Professor Alder is somewhat of an expert on pokemon evolution. As his lab now lacks the proper funding for the usual starters, he has offered five trainers these instead:

  • Name: Sora Hanson

    Age: 15

    Gender: Female

    Location: Sootopolis City in Hoenn

Appearance: Sora is part Oriental and part Caucasian, causing her to have long, silky black hair, slanted eyes with bright green irises. Her hair goes down to the small of her back and is always parted at the side, no bangs. She usually wears it with a headband or in a high pony-tail. Sora isn't very tall, part of the Oriental in her, standing at about 157 cm, or approximately 5'2". She very thin, with small hands and feet and a small face, everything about her is just small. Sora's skin is in between being pale and being tanned, rather ordinary actually, it's really her personality that you notice and not her appearance.

Sora is a girly girl, therefore, she dresses as one. She likes skirts, a lot, and therefore is usually seen in one, unless the situation really demands her to wear pants. Usually she dresses in bright colours. Her favourite dress is an orange one. The skirt ends about 10 cm above the knee with some golden wing-like accents at the bottom. The top is tight with more golden twirls that form the straps going around her neck. She carries an off-white coat with her that's just a bit shorter than the dress with two buttons at the very top and thick sleeves. Also she usually wears a pair of thick white leggings to keep her legs warm and yellow boots in her feet. To carry her stuff in she owns an off-white cylinder-shaped duffelbag that is bulging out with stuff.

Personality: Sora is a curious girl, in any meaning of the word. She's literally very curious, anything that's new she would want to know about, and don't even try hiding anything from her. She's also curious in a way that she can be strange sometimes. She's extremely prejudiced while picking Pokémon. She loves the cute ones, and will leave the ones that don't look good alone, in favour for the pretty creatures. She has a big temper, don't try to stand up to her because she will get her way. She's loud enough to make herself noticed by everyone, and that's the way she likes it. Sora can't stand to be ignored, she feels like she has to prove herself a lot because she's so small and has always been seen as fragile.

Sora was named for the sky, and it was definitely a good name to pick for her. Sora is completely obsessed with the sky, she dreams of flying and doesn't let anyone tell her she's being crazy. She might be overly obsessed with flying Pokémon this way, don't be surprised to find her freaking out over a Pidgey.
Another trait of Sora's is that she has a tad bit of OCD going on for her. She likes things to be in place, and to stay in place. If anyone other than her moves something, she'll get frustrated. She has anxiety attacks when things go wrong, or something happens that she entirely didn't expect to. She needs to know when she's going, where she's going and how she's going there ahead of time, it calms her knowing what's going to come. If someone seriously messes that up she will either get very mad, or completely panic.

History: Sora is originally from the very sunny Hoenn. Her parents ran a restaurant just across from the lake and little Sora often helped with that, usually doing the dishes or helping prepare some of the meals. She caused some troubles with her attacks though. Someone would move the cups from one cupboard to another and she would panic and entirely freak out. But most of the time she was a warm smile and an efficient worker, if you stayed on her good side. Apart from helping with the restaurant, Sora went to school, got average grades and mostly didn't stand out much for the first part of her life.

The fact that she wasn't getting noticed was bothering Sora. She'd often do things to get herself noticed, she'd speak louder, 'accidentally' drop her pencilcase in class and offer her opinion whenever it really wasn't needed. If she had an opinion, it had to be voiced. This made her not very popular in school for it was becoming quite the annoying thing. It didn't help when people around her were growing taller than her. After a year of her behavior growing more and more radical, her teacher had a 'talk' with her. After the warning Sora settled down and started to keep more to herself. She stopped voicing her opinions every second, but the buildup of emotions caused her to grow a short temper and to develop anxiety attacks every once in while.

When Sora wanted to travel, it was kind of a relief for the neighborhood she lived in. No more troublesome Sora around, but he parents were reluctant to let her go. But Sora convinced them to let her go, and pushed a pamphlet about the newly opened Sinnoh league under their noses. After checking that things were indeed safe and that no harm could possibly befall her, they let Sora go, and off she was to her journey.

  • Name: Chad Reinier

    Age: 15

    Gender: Male

Location: A low cost apartment in Lilycove City, Hoenn.

    Appearance:
Chad stands at roughly six feet, and feels tall and gangly at his young age. His form is average, not too muscular nor too flabby. If anything, he's a bit underweight. As for his hair, Chad likes it curly and long. By long, it falls about an inch or so above his shoulders, depending on when he cuts it. His hair is a naturally dirty blonde color, though his roots are closer to brown. Most of the time Chad doesn't bother to mess with his hair, so it gives him a severe case of bed head. Chad has your average peach skin, though he does tend to get a slight tan in the summer months. Chad's more of an active guy, so he does have a form of wiry muscle lining his frame. Chad has long, thing fingers which makes it easier for him to play his guitar. For his facial features, Chad has bright blue eyes. He has a very light (albeit barely noticeable) mustache on his upper lip, and refuses to shave it because he plans on growing it out to make him look "tougher". Chad has an average nose that is perfectly straight, because he's never had it broken.

Chad enjoys looking like a rugged bad boy, so he tends to wear torn up jeans and darker shirts. He has a leather jacket that Chad normally just wears if it's chilly, because he doesn't really get cold that often. Having grown up by the ocean, Chad is used to the temperature dropping, so he doesn't often need warm clothes. To broaden on his shirt selection, Chad wears T-shirts with circular necks that, most of the time, are black. He doesn't really care about images and such on shirts, so most of them are just plain. For his jeans, they normally have holes in the knees and tears at the bottom. If they don't have holes, Chad will generally rip them. For his shoes, Chad goes with a pair of black high top Converse that he got as a birthday present. Sometimes he writes random scribbles on his shoes, so they're actually rather interesting to look at. As far as little accessories goes, Chad has a few. He wears a leather cord necklace with a guitar pick on the end, because he's practically obsessed with music. He also wears two rings on his left hand (both are silver) on his middle and ring fingers. He also wears a black sweatband on his right wrist and a watch on his left. The watch is digital, nothing fancy at all about it. He also is often seen carrying his guitar which is located in a black squarish case that doesn't fit with the curves of the instrument.

    Personality:
Chad, deep down, is a really big softie. He might look rough and tough and first, but once you get to know him he gives off a different vibe. He enjoys joking around and hanging with people he considers friends a lot. Sometimes people thinks he jokes a little too much, but Chad says that frankly he doesn't care. Sometimes people say that he's just a dumb blonde, but Chad isn't always that stupid. He might not be good at school or things such as that, but he is good at reading people and judging their feelings. Chad is also a person who dislikes racism and people who are prejudiced, and will voice this if someone acts like it around him. He also isn't afraid to get in the occasional fight to prove his point either, no matter how many times this has gotten him in trouble. The only thing with Chad are his flaws. People generally find him a cool enough guy to begin with, except for the fact that occasionally he will get very angry and that has destructive results. A few times it has ended in friendships for him, no matter how many times he tries to apologize. Chad generally just tries to ignore this though, because once it's been said and done Chad doesn't see any point in going back to the problem. He likes to move on as quickly as possible.

A major part of Chad's life and personality is music. Chad likes good hard rock, and also enjoys doing covers of songs on his electric guitar. Most of the time when he's traveling though, Chad takes along his acoustic and messes around with songs forming in his head. Chad's a very musical person, and would probably rant about music even if the person he was talking to had no idea what he was talking about. So, this really shows that Chad is more of a creative person than an athletic, though Chad does indulge in a quick game of soccer (with himself, because he doesn't have many friends where he lives) when he can.

    History:
Chad wasn't born in a great household. The house he grew up in was small and not too luxurious, though Chad didn't care if it was. His father was working double shifts at a nearby restaurant and often came home completely tired, not having any time for his son. As for his mother, she worked in the department store on minimum wage. Chad often had to teach himself how to do extracurriculars (such as play his guitar and participate in sports), but he didn't mind. Sometimes he would get help from the older children at school, which excited Chad because he did enjoy the company of people. He also grew up really without a sense of discipline, especially because his parents were hardly ever home. Sure, they came home when it was time for him to go to bed, but that still wasn't really enough to pull him in. Chad doesn't care about his discipline issue though, and doesn't think it's a major issue anyway. At least, he tries not to. The only things that scream in his mind are the times when he has his little moments.

One such moment occurred when he was fourteen, just a couple months before his birthday. He had snapped and broken the guitar of one of the older kids who had been helping him out, and that was really when a lot of people drifted away from him. Chad often told himself afterward that it didn't matter and he didn't need friends like that, but it was really just a lie he told himself to make himself happier. Chad really wants to leave his home, mostly because he feels there's nothing left for him in the large town. His parents are hardly around, he doesn't really have any friends left, so obviously Chad has reason to want to go. He's really hoping to get out in the world and find himself, which is part of the way he convinced his parents to let him go.

  • Name: Maxi Sullivan

    Age: 15

    Gender: Male

    Location: Blackthorn City, Johto

Appearance: Maxi has a very lean yet muscled look to him. He is about 5'9'' and weighs about 140 pounds. He tans really easily, mainly because he adores the outdoors and is usually outside. He has aqua green eyes that many have compared to the waters of the Lake of Rage. He has shaggy brown hair that runs down a little past his shoulders.

Maxi wears clothing that suits his taste in music but does not really match his personality. His shirts are mainly black with the occasional blue or white. His main shirt he always wears though is black with splatches of blue across with the band This Romatic Tradgedy across it. This is usually covered by a black hoodie that has his favorite band, Bring Me the Horizon, in green. He wears black skinnys and a pair of white and black shoes. He wears a brown, wooden, beaded bracelet on his right wrist which was made by his sisters.

Personality: As his appearance shows, he does not match his clothing so he is usually looked down as a punk or someone who does not care. Actually, Maxi is one of the most caring people in the world and is always smiling. He is usually very nice to everyone and can always give someone a chance. He is very confident and has a strong drive to achieve his dream of becoming one of the best trainers in the world. He will always help someone if they need it but can be very shy towards many people. But if you can start up a conversation, you may not get Maxi to stop. He treats Pokemon just as well as he does humans and has a big heart to anyone on his team.

History: Maxi reigns from the rocky terrain of Blackthorn City and has idols in Clair and Lance. He has lived here his whole entire life with his parents, Mark and Marina and two younger twin sisters and an older brother. He always had an interest in Pokemon mainly since his whole family did too. His mother had been a top trainer in here day and even made in the top ten in the Indigo League. Maxi was always watching past tapes of her battles and longing to battle just like her. He father is a Pokemon watcher and is also a big artist as well. His brother, Griff, went out on his journey and is currently in Kanto. His sisters, Marie and Monica, will start their journies in a few years and Maxi will definitely keep and eye and an ear out to protect them.

Instead of beginning his journey at ten, he instead decided to stay in Blackthorn a few years and watch battles at Clair's gym. He had a bit of an apprenticeship with her and made many stops in Dragon's Den and the Ice Path with the gym leader. After a few years he finally heard about the Sinnoh League reopening and decided to start his first journey there and continue it through Johto afterwards. So he flew on his mothers Noctowl to Professor Alder's lab and this is where his story will begin.

  • Name:Jason Reed.

    Age: 15

    Gender: Male

    Location: Twinleaf

Appearence: Messy teal colored hair and light green eyes. Normally wears ripped jeans and a plain black shirt and black converse shoes. When it gets cold he switches to a black and white striped long sleeve shirt and a simple black hoodie jacket. He is neither fancy nor untidy. He just feels that whatever he wears will get dirty eventually. He is only 5ft 6in, which leaves plenty of time to grow as he ages, though it is a bit annoying to only be an inch taller than most of the girls he knows. Jason has pale skin, despite being outside a lot, and is something that annoys him to no end. He prefers dark skin, which may seem girl minded but he doesn't care. He also wears a brown poke' belt that will someday hold his main team and a thick black leather bracelet on right wrist. A determined grin is usually lit upon his face, but when the going gets tough a harsh scowl replaces his grin and his green eyes darken with an almost malicious glint as he thinks about how to remedy this.

During special occasions, he will dress in nice black pants, a white button collar up shirt and a black vest. Thankfully, however, Jason is rarely ever invited to formal occasions, so he doesn't bother with such things. Though he did particularly like his pokemon trainer's school graduation party. A few kids had brought beer and his clothes didn't seem that bad anymore...

Personality: Jason is the cliche teenager and trainer. He is determined, but has a habit of overworking not only himself, but his pokemon. Some might find his hard methods cruel and unneeded, but he is simply determined and wants his pokemon to reach their fullest potential. Jason will still give encouragement to his pokemon during training. He is not cruel. He will most likely scoff at the sight of a Coordinator, thinking that that they aren't true pokemon trainers and will never make a worthy opponent in battle. Aside from all that, he does have a kind heart. He properly congragulates and makes sure his pokemon are in good and healthy condition. He would never abuse them in anyway, and whenever they are hurt, he gives them extra care and will not leave their side. Once he has made a true friend, one he knows he can trust, he would go through hell and back if his friend were in trouble. All in all, Jason is simply misunderstood since he has a habit of being impolite to people right off the bat.

History: Surprisingly, it his mother, Elizabeth Reed, who left him and his father on Cinnabar Island, his birthplace, to pursue her dream of becoming a pokemon trainer. When she met Team Rocket and vanished, Jason and his father moved to Twinleaf, hoping to make a new beginning. As Jason had always had a problem making friends since he was a bit rough and preffered to be alone, it didn't bother him that much. They feared she had either made enemies with them and they had killed her and may go after them, or, hopefully not, had joined Team Rocket. Tyler's father, Mathew Reed, has been hestitant about letting his son go on a journey, but knows that it would be harder for his son in the world when he is of age, knowing he would just go on a journey then. As it's easier when they are younger, he allows his son to go, and only with the promise he calls at every town. He is a true mother hen, but despite that, Jason never became cowed by his father's overbearing attitude. However, that isn't the only reason he is reluctant. When Jason had been younger, he had tried to capture a Rattata with his bare hands. Naturally, the Rattata attacked with a Hyper Fang attack. Its teeth cut all the way through Jason's bone on his left arm. The wound had been so bad that it was a miracle it wasn't amputated. Jason took three years of physical therapy just to get it back to its original strength, his father worrying along the whole time. It is because of that, that Jason's father fears for his sons life, afraid that his pokemon may turn on him or he meet something that he isn't ready for.

His grandfather and grandmother on his father's side are really uptight, old fashion type of people. They continually begrudge Jason and his behavior and clothing style. They personally believe that a few lashes with the belt will turn him into a fine, upsatnding young man. Unfortunately for them, such a thing has never happened, much to Jason's glee. He often mocks them for that with his eyes when his father isn't around, and he knows they can read him just fine. For his mother's side, they both died of cancer when he was eight, much to his distress. He had liked them, for they had brought him treats and real encouragement.

  • Right, things are a bit complicated here. Sorry if I forgot to say earlier, but I won't do reservations. Fair enough if you've already started an SU, that's okay, but if more than one person has claimed a pokemon then I'll go for the best one. Sorry to anybody who reserved - I probably should have made it more clear. If any spots appear I'll be sure to give you a call :)

Right, with that out of the way:

    Accepted:

VIII. Bond Of Flame. XIV - Jolteon
    Ice Dragon 2439 - Flareon
    Wolfwhispers - Vaporeon

    Pending:

    {Swan} - Umbreon.

@Infinite Meditation: Sorry, Swan beat you to Umbreon :(

@Everyone else: Okay, that means only Espeon is left. So if you want it then get busy with the SUs :P

I'd once again wish to apologize to those who reserved. This is more of a first come, first serve thing.

On another note: this RP will use Trainer Cards. So if you could get those for me that'd be much appriciated.

Aw it's okay. My SU is all set!

    Name: Mirun Lorios

    Age: 13

    Gender: Male

    Location: Ecruteak City, Johto

Appearance: Mirun is of medium height, standing at about 5'1" and weighing about 120 pounds. His skin is a gentle, faint golden brown. Mirun is fit and lean but not too muscular. He has golden irises in slightly narrowed eyes and faintly sharp face. On his hand is a red pentagram tattoo. His hair is short and slightly spikes downward colored light brown tipped auburn.

Mirun wears a white silk T-shirt that's almost like a dress shirt and black slacks. His shirt cuffs have a sapphire jewel on each. Covering that is a thin grey jacket. His shoes are a grey and deep dark blue pair of sneakers with attachable foldable skates placed in the jacket pocket. On his back is, oddly enough a five foot bamboo quarterstaff tipped metal.

Personality: Mirun, despite his formal demeanor, is a shy, unconfident individual with a almost unhealthy amount of curiousity. Abnormally soft-spoken and with a strong inferiority complex, he is incredibly sensitive to taunting from bullies and even his own family knows better than to mock him most of the time. Only when he is enraged or in a battle does he gain the original personality of his family: cold and fierce with an undercurrent of aloof arrogance. Mirun considers his Pokemon family and believes that they should be able to support each other. He loves legends and history and playing with the spirits of Ecruteak.

History: Mirun is the youngest male of the five Lorios children, an ancient seer family. The ironic thing of the situation is that he is the first to have even a drop of the pureblood in three generations, which holds their talent of aura usage. That is the only reason he is still alive. His eldest brother and sister are as haughty and proud as the rest of their family and his second brother long since left on their journey. Mirun grew up with harsh lessons and quickly developed the habit of staying away from his home for as long as he could. Despite warnings, he would play in the Burned and Tin Towers and would occasionally venture away from his home for days on end. The nearby ghosts in Ecruteak would follow him, even when he didn't know it. When the call came out for challengers to Sinnoh, his family found it would be good and a chance to prove the Lorios still had power. Mirun agreed, but mostly it was because Sinnoh seemed like a wonderful place to explore.

    Chosen Starter: Espeon. Nickname: Senna

Extra: Mirun was trained in hand-to-hand combat, as well as his quarterstaff, so he will train with the one he carries often.

    Name: Steve Banner

    Age: 15

    Gender: Male

    Location: Oreburgh City

Appearance: Steve is, though he loves to eat, a thin young man and 1,78m tall. His skin is white and with a little brown teint because he likes to sunbath when the weather is nice. He has black short hair with little curls, there is no specific haircut as he just keeps his hairs how they are what causes his hair to look chaotic sometimes, but Steve never really seems to care about it. He just strokes his hair down in the morning to look not like a complete idiot. His eyes are big and dark brown, but the most distinctive detail of his face is the little goatbeard on his chin. His body is not really muscular as he is not training any part of his body.

His clothes show his affiliation to the metal and hard rock culture, as he always wears black shirts, sometimes of his favorite bands, dark blue jeans and black sneakers with white ornaments.
The clothes not to tight but not to wide and "Hip-Hop-ish" as he wants to move free without anything tweaking. He wears glasses with a black frame and quadrangle-shaped glasses that have no frame at the bottom. He also wears black sweatbands. They have no function - he just thinks it looks cool.

Personality: Steve is very kind and helpful and hates to do anything alone, he always acts in a group and is a great partner to work with. But he also can be very difficult when someone insults him or people that are important to him, his kindness comes to an end an Steve becomes angry, though he recovers really fast and is very forgiving for someone's mistakes. He is an intelligent young man and he often has good ideas and answers for riddles. The most important thing is his life is music. He plays multiple instruments, but his big "love" - as he calls it - is the guitar. On his journeys he always has an acoustic guitar to play at the campfire or in his tent - he plays whenever he has time for it. He also loves to talk about music, but most people don't have the knowledge (or just a lack of interest) to have a discussion about music with him.

History: Only Steve's best friends know, what bad experiences he made, but the good times of his past are always topic of Steve's conversations. His parents both worked at the Oreburgh Mine and started early to promote the musical talent of their son. He started playing piano with 7 years and guitar with 13, but although he only plays guitar for two years, he gets praised by other musicians with more experience for his skill and knowledge. Steve can also play drums, although he never had a drumset or played at one of his friend's drums. Maybe the hammering on the table at dinner or other rythmic experiments made him get the feeling for the instrument. At school he has always been above average without being a nerd - he was just good at remembering things and using his brain. He wants to attend a music college in a few years to become a great musician someday, to fulfill his giant dream.

    Chosen Starter: Espeon

Extra: Be kind, it's my first English RPG x_xI couldn't post a trainer card because of the 15 post rule...

  • Okay, {Swan} is now officially Accepted :D Let's get this underway...

    Chapter One: Sandgem Town
    Number of posts: 1
    -----

"Hello young trainers. My name is Professor Alder, currently the new professor of the Sinnoh Region. As you may know, the Sinnoh League officially returns this year, and I am thus offering five young people the chance to recieve a starter pokemon and challenge this league. After all, the league would be nothing without trainers.

I will issue these five, slightly 'different' pokemon to anyone who wishes to become a pokemon trainer. All are young, and perfectly suitable for the task. These are:

Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, and finally, Umbreon.

So hurry down to Sandgem Town. It's first come, first serve. Good luck young trainers - we're counting on you."

    "And, cut!"

"How was that?" Alder asked the director,

"That was great. We should hopefully have this commercial broadcast tomorrow!"

"Wonderful!" The professor picked up his bag, "Thank you for this. Forgive me, but i'll need to get back to my lab now and prepare for tomorrow..."

    -----

Your character is simpy relaxing or doing something at home. They decide to watch TV (or listen to the radio, whichever), and they see this announcement. Naturally, each of you take this opportunity and make haste to get to Sandgem (if you live far away then you should probably take a boat or something). You will meet the professor, and he will give you these items:

    - Pokedex
    - Pokeballs (note: for simplicity's sake, we'll make the stock unlimited. Saves you having to buy more)
    - Your starter pokemon.

Good luck, and have fun! :D

  • A New Beginning
"Traveling in a fried-out combie," a young, teal haired boy trainer sang as he leisurely skateboarded down a nearly abandoned road. It was almost strange, but everyone who should have been walking were all croweded around a television shop. "On a hippie trail head full of zombies!" he continued, just a little bit louder, but some ruckus from the full crowd made him turn back.

    "Do you hear that!"

    "A free pokemon..."

"A chance to become a trainer!"

The young boys' next part of the lyrics, "I met a strange lady", was instantly cut off by a curse as he toppled neatly off his skateboard and was sent head over heal as he rolled to a stop directly in front of the excited crowd; not that they paid any mind to the young boy that could have literally died since he had no helmet.

"My baby!" the boy cried, staring at his now broken skateboard before all but punching his way to the front of the television where he could already hear the tell tale signs of an interview. Whoever it was certainly gave off an air, because this crowd was actually shaking and bouncing from excitement. "What is this all about?" he grumbled, mind still repeating that one, "A chance to become a trainer!" from earlier.

These are..."

The young, teal haired boy didn't even wait to hear what the pokemon were. Once more he punched and pushed his way out of the crowd, much to the outcry and irritation of others.

"What about your skateboard!?" someone shouted.

"Keep it!" the boy called back, not even looking back.

This was it! A chance to become what he had always wanted. As long as he could remember, just like many others, he had wanted to take off and become a trainer, but you could only become one if you had been certified by a professor, and his father had never been able to (not that he wanted to), send his kid to a different region.

"And what luck!" the boy hissed in glee. His father was on a business trip in the very town that the professor was in. He would become a trainer, but oh boy oh boy would his father be pissed.

The thought made him run even faster.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The young professor sighed as he gazed at the young hopeful soon-to-be trainers. They were one short. He had hoped that with that interview, teenagers would have come running like a Houndoom were after them.

"Outta my way!" a young voice shouted, causing the professor and teenagers to look towards the entrance.

"No, you get outta the way!" another voice shouted.

To everyone's shock, a teal haired boy burst through the room, chest heaving as he let out a whoop of joy and threw a cocky grin at a heaving brown haired boy that looked just as old as him as he crawled through the door first.

"I'm here first," the teal haired boy drawled, looking very pleased as he grinned at the professor.

Professor Alden smiled, feeling very amused. "And we finally have the last trainer," he said calmly to all before turning a sad look at the last boy. "I'm sorry, but..."

The boy looked away, tears in his eyes, before giving a nod and storming off.

    There was a stony silence.

"Who are you?" The professor found it almost impossible to keep the amusement out of his voice, but by the looks of the other soon-to-be trainers, they were just disgusted, confused or bored.

"Jason!" the teal haired boy barked, still able to make his voice loud and excited despite the fact that had was still panting. "Jason Reed!"

Jason Reed, hmm? Professor Alder turned as a whole to the group. "Let's begin, shall we?" he asked pleasantly, getting excited whoops and cheers. "First come, first serve, I'm afraid." Professor Alder smiled at the groan from the Reed boy. "Now here we have our choices..." With a snap of his fingers, five beautiful fox like beasts walked out with a different type of grace that nearly had Jason's jaw dropping to the floor.

    Boy, did these look powerful!

"I want the Jolteon!" Jason thought, looking imploringly at the electric dog, noting its sharp spikes and beautiful coloring. It licked a paw in agitation, but when its name was called by the first boy (which Jason groaned at), it stood at attention and walked with its head held high.

"Espeon," another person called, and that fox walked over to its new trainer.

Before Jason knew it, all that was left was a blue fox with a mermaid like tail. Its fins lifted eagerly as it gazed at him with a knowing look. With a felinish smirk, it walked right up to Jason without being called; and why would it? Jason was the last one. Jason peered down at the pokemon and found it hard not to be disappointed. He only wanted strong pokemon, not girly pokemon that wouldn't want to fight.

"You're not one of those contest pokemon, are you?" Jason asked with a whine and instantly getting glares from all the other trainers.

"Vap!" the Vaporeon barked, looking offended. It's tail slapped the ground in irritation as he glared at his new trainer, body glistening as if he had just walked out of the water.

"Right... Well, I just hope you aren't too girly," Jason commented, getting a "Hey!" from one of the girls and a hiss from Vaporeon.

The Umbreon across made a rumbling sound, almost as if it were laughing, but a loud bark from Vaporeon made it shut up. "Poeon!"

Jason grinned and patted Vaporeon on the back. "Well, looks like you got some bite in you!" He turned to the amused professor. "So when do we get going?"

The man smiled and handed Jason a pokedex. "Right now..."

  • Maxi, hair blowing in the early-morning Johto breeze, was preparing another typical day with Clair. Blackthorn City was not completely roudy from their slumber but sleeping late was not something Maxi ever got use to. Out of nowhere a voice broke his train of thought.

"Honey, there's an important commercial currently on air, I think you may be interested in it," a skinny middle-aged woman shouted calmly.

"Really!?" Maxi exclaimed, his breath still visible in the cool, morning air.

He jumped off of his perch on top of a rock and flew inside his front door, nearly knocking his mother over. He threw his body onto his black leather couch, right next to his dad who had his usual morning coffee in hand.

Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, and finally, Umbreon.

So hurry down to Sandgem Town. It's first come, first serve. Good luck young trainers - we're counting on you."

"Mom, dad, did you hear that, this is my chance, Maxi exclaimed, not holding back his excitement. I have to pack...oh my god there is no way I could make it."

"Don't worry son, I called in a special favor for you," Maxi's father said calmly after taking a sip of his coffee. And anyways ou have plenty of time to get there, it's still nighttime in Sinnoh, we just knew you ready to start your journey," he said with a smile.

Maxi leaped into the air, and nearly came crashing down on their glass coffee table. He rushed into his room and quickly packed. All types of items were tossed into the blue and black backpack he used for his training with Clair. He then said his goodbye to his room and walked out and down the stairs. His twin sisters came stumbling out of their room sleepily to see all of the commotion.

"What's with all the noise?" Monica asked rubbing her left eye.

"I'm finally starting my journey shorty," Maxi replied jokingly.

The two sisters threw their bodies around Maxi's legs, in a desperate attempt to stop him but they knew nothing would. He rubbed their curly black hair and bent down to give them both a hug. He then gave a quick hug and kiss to his mother who knew the thrill of beginning a journey all too well.

"Good luck son, show Sinnoh what Johto and the Sullivan family is all about," she said after a tight embrace with her middle child.

He then turned to his dad and gave a firm handshake and a hug.

"And show Griff what your made off," he said to his son jokingly.

"I will guys, don't you worry, I love you all," Maxi replied.

As he walked out his front door for the second time that day, his family followed and his mother tossed a round ball into the air. A rather large bird appeared and landed in front of Maxi.

"Take Minda, you will get thier in no time," she said happily.

"Thanks mom," he replied as he placed himself on the bird's lower back.

As they flew into the air he gave one last wave goodbye to his family, knowing it would be a good while before he saw them again.

"Alright Midna, full speed to Sinnoh and Sandgem Towm," he said confidently.

She hooted in responce and picked up her speed.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a good half day of flying and an endless amount of water, they finally made it to Professor Alder's lab. He was early, it was early morning in Sinnoh with the sun just beginning to rise. He looked around intently, unfamiliar with the region. He then walked up to the lab and knocked on the door. After a few moments, the door opened and a lanky man stood in the doorframe. He pushed his glasses up and looked curiously down at Maxi.

"You must be Mark and Marina's son, Maxi, its good to finally meet you," the professor said happily. I'm Professor Alder and I here you are ready to partake in a journey of your own, well you came at the right time, a tad early, but that never hurts, right," he jokingly said.

He led Maxi into a rather large but cluttered room with many blinking machines and walls of bookshelves. Maxi gazed around with curious eyes and almost ran into the Professor.

"We'll have to wait for the other's to get her but you will be the first to choose since you were the first to get here," the professor said a bit apologeic but with a smile.

After about an hour and a half, the other four all came in at different times, the final kid, a teen about his age with teal hair, rushing in, ready to choose. After a breif moment of him being told he was the last to make it and finding out his name was Jason Reed, the trainers were ready to choose their new partners.

"Let's begin, shall we? First come, first serve, I'm afraid." Professor Alder smiled at the groan from the Reed boy and the cheers from the others. "Now here we have our choices," he continued as five fox looking Pokemon made their way in front of the professor. Since Maxi was first, he gets first choice."

"I would like Flareon," Maxi said excitingly.

As the others made their choices, Maxi gave a quick rub under his fire Pokemon's chin and it smiled back with happiness.

"You all can start, here is your pokedex's," the professor said happily.

"I finally get my shot, and with Flareon, I know I'll be the best," Maxi said confidently as he recieved his Pokedex.
