Amachi, that link was very good and eye-opening. However, it did not change my opinion of these games. I do believe they wera bove average with their gameplay, I do believe they had some original ideas, and I know the game has some pretty good music and graphics, aside those horrid cutscenes. (How
could they be
that sloppy with those cutscenes?!) I believe CD-i Zeldas and the Mario game were good games, just with some cutscenes gone wrong.
But as that page you linked said, they should not be thought as games of Nintendo. They should be thought as something that has nothing to do with Nintendo, and thus it only enforces my opinon:
These games are not Zelda games.
I have no problem with games like that, but a game like that is not a Zelda game. Zelda games aren't platform games! Zelda games are characterized by the occuring themes, which include puzzles, the Triforce, the original Zelda songs and the certain kind of gameplay that most notably include Link's inability to jump at any place. CD-i Zeldas don't have those features and thus they will never be Zelda games in my book. I don't care if they are better than Nintendo's Zelda games, to me, CD-i games are not to be counted in the Zelda series.
But those youtube videos sure rock.
This is my favourite remix, even though it doesn't have the original graphics. To me, that's a good think. Those cutscenes are seriously scary. If I were to play those games when I was a kid, I would've seen nightmares... By the way, the musics in that video are also from CD-i Zeldas. That at least proves that they did have good audio when it wasn't about the voice actors.
