How has Pokemon impacted your life?

    I mean, Pokemon has played a good role in my childhood, because liking pokemon in common with a few other kids, I've started to have my first few friends. So, like the title says, let me ask: how has pokemon impacted your life -- if at all?
     
    I've made friends with other people who like Pokemon as well. It's also made me a little good at math to an extent.
     
    I don't know whether Pokemon itself has had a massive impact on my life. The actual act of playing the games hasn't really changed me as a person, I don't think. Being a part of the general fandom, on the other hand, probably has shaped my personality in ways I don't and can't really know about. Especially because I got into not only the games, but the fandom as well, when I was at quite an impressionable age, I definitely think THAT part of Pokemon must have had some impact on not only my communication but more general social skills. Can't really tell for sure, but something must have happened...
     
    It made other people think I was pretty dorky in my early teens xD Then I found PokéCommunity and never mentioned IRL again that I liked pokémon, since I could talk about it here. So... mostly pokémon has brought me to PC and that in turn has made me learn and found things I wouldn't if I had never found PC.

    As for pokémon itself, I guess it's the only fandom I'll never get completely tired off ^^
     
    It's been the one game franchise I've stuck with for over a decade, the source of one of my obsessions (Leaf from FR/LG), and it's helped me meet tons of friends on PC. It's taken countless hours of my life, but I don't regret it one bit :)
     
    Hmm... originally it just filled time between things but now it has evolved into something more! Without Pokemon I doubt I could be anywhere near as proficient as I am on a computer. Plus, my art, writing and debating skills have been improved from taking part in Pokemon Forums.
