View Full Version : Need for order.

There are two kinds of order that I would like to ask about today.
Expectations order - the need to have people you haven't met to be like what you want them to be.
For example, I rarely check out the Pictures thread anymore because it literally hurts to have my hopes dashed about how any of y'all really look. (No disrespect though, y'all are still beautiful!)
So do you tend to do that to online people irl gatherings, blind dates, new relative, or whatever? Do you feel bummed about not having them live up to your expectations?
Schedule order - the need to have a routine and act out on it.
Do you have a schedule and stick with it? Do you get anxious when you have to change your schedule unexpectedly?

It took me several read-throughs of this thread to understand what it was exactly what you meant by "order" haha. Now I got it though!
I'd say I have this a little bit, but not really. The picture thread is a great example, so I might follow along with that one. If I talk to somebody enough, I do get an image in my head of how they look - and it disappoints me when I go into the picture thread and see that they actually look nothing like that. They still look great, of course (PC has the most attractive memberbase I've ever seen in an online forum) but I'm still a little disappointed because I think the image I had of them in my head suits their personality more :P. But it only bothers me for a minute, then I get over it lol. And that's the same with irl people, only it's not often that I meet a new person with enough advance notice to form an opinion of them in my head lol.
This one I have moreso. It's not too bad, but I do like my loose routine and I do get a little anxious if I stray too far off of it. It's just a weird little feeling I get like "this is weird I shouldn't be here this isn't normal" but it's only slight, and I usually push it away easily enough.

I've come to expect the same for everyone. Especially online so I don't really go out of my way to avoid anything or get upset when it's not what I ideally wish it would be.
I have a really loose schedule that I keep because I don't really have a reason to change it not because I need to stick by it. I really like when things come up that change my schedule because doing the same thing all the time is just boring after a while.

To begin with, I guess I had this. I'd carve up an image of what someone would look like and then they'd usually be dashed. Lately, I guess you can say that I learned form my mistakes. Now, I've come to expect anything.
Haha, no. I am the epitome of the cliche "Go with the flow"

I lack need of either, and explicitly dislike routine.

I expect others to be decent, courteous, and respectful towards me, even if we do not agree on things.
I do make plans sometimes and stick to them, but I can also be quite impromptu. Depends on the day or week really!

Oh gosh this feels like group therapy. I go by Kafka, who said "So long as you have food in your jaws, you have solved all your questions for the time being." My schedule's too all-over-the-place to really be called a schedule, more like I just do stuff and sleep when I can.
