So, my Internet isn't working that well. Long story short, I connect via Ethernet cord, and when I plug any cord in, it gives me this:
(The top is a wireless USB adapter, which is my parents', not mine.)
So, I do a few things: reset everything, try a different cord, see if other computers have this issue if plugged in, restore the computer to an earlier date... nothing worked. It was just me with Internet woes. I figure, the next step would be to back up my files and nuke the computer with a reformat.
The nuking itself was really easy. My computer has an extra harddrive which has the files for a reformat. But after that, there was the initial boot, resetting everything to what I wanted, there were programs to download... the worst part, though, was updating Windows. It was a lot to update. Must've taken two hours at least. (And the worst part is, I've had to install another four updates since.)
But right now, the most frustrating thing is the USB adapter I'm using. I've had to reinstall it three times now. Although I might not have had to do it the third time; it might've just been my USB port freaking out, because it worked when I went to another one.
Of course, the fun part? Reformatting didn't fix my Internet problem. So I'm going through all this work for nothing. >_> I guess it's a hardware issue? Shame my computer's been out of warranty for a year now. On the bright side, the rest of the computer works fine, so I can at least type what I write up at work onto the computer.
After tonight, I'll be scarce again until I can manage to get something that'll connect me to Internet that I don't have to return. Which... might be awhile. It depends on if I can find anything cheap.
You'll probably find updates on Twitter more than you'll find me here. It's easy to sneak onto during work. :)
