I had a date last night, and it was the most amazing date ever. <3
Long story short: I met this guy though the Houston Brony group during the meetup at the Galleria. He seemed extremely friendly, and with that, we both instantly became good friends. He goes to the same uni as I do (although I go to a different campus for two days), but he's doing a different major. So, we began seeing each other, and talking nonstop. Then a month later, he asked me out. It was extremely bad timing for me because I was already bound for Kansas City to see Buoysel (and I had feelings for him at the time), so it was emotionally conflicting at the time. After the trip, and after I got my heart broken by Buoysel, I fell into a deep depression to the point that I skipped class twice. The guy texted me, looking for me around campus. When I told him about the breakup, he immediately left campus just to see me, lending a shoulder to cry on. I was grateful for that, really. <3
I think he was one of the reasons why I recovered from that heartbreak so quickly. Because I knew from the start there will be someone whom I can lean back on in case I ever fall. My feelings for Buoysel have finally dissipated, and new feelings started to develop for the guy. When he asked me out again on May 4th via text, I immediately said yes…leading to the events of yesterday.
I was so NERVOUS! It was literally my first *actual* date with a guy that lives in the same city as I do. My past two relationships were long distant, and I learned my lesson that never again I will get into that kind of relationship. It took me FOREVER to find a cute outfit (tried two malls, five stores, even a walmart for crying out loud), and I even practiced my "questions" (see how nervous I was??).
I told him to surprise me with plans since I don't know much about Houston. He wanted to visit this really cool comic book store (we're both into superhero comics!), but they closed early at 7 pm…which was a bummer! So instead, we drove around the inner loop of Houston (which is mostly downtown), and headed up northwest for this really awesome Mexican restaurant. Ordered chicken stuffed with cheese and spinach, along with Spanish rice and pico de gallo. I may be a little judgemental on Mexican food, but this exceeded my expectations. No wonder it was called "Pollo Fantastico". :D
There was a movie theatre nearby the restaurant, and we both decided to go see Avengers: Age of Ultron. Good movie, btw!
If anyone is actually wondering, our first kiss took place during the credits of the movie. We both couldn't wait for it. xD He really liked my cotton candy flavored lip gloss. :3
I am taking last night as a night that I broke free from the past and accepted the present. For the past few weeks I was still tied to the memories from my previous relationship. Letting them go was the best thing I've done, and that made me feel a lot better than I was before. It was hard, though. And this guy made me realize that there is always hope.
Now if only I can get school shit out the way, and a busy work week…because I really want to see him again :(((
