Around September 2007, for some bizarre reason, my DS Lite stopped working. I don't know why (I suspect overheating) but it stopped. This ruined a lot of plans for me. I didn't get Diamond like I intended to and put Pokemon gaming on hiatus until I fixed the DS.
Unfortunately, school work and other circumstances caused me to extend the hiatus until I got some free time. However, around June last year, my dad bought me a copy of Pokemon Platinum. I didn't even ask him to - he just knew that I liked the Pokemon games series. Only then did I start looking at fixing my DS. Even though I was more aware of it, I still didn't have too much free time and, unfortunately, my DS fell into misuse once again and my Platinum was kept on a shelf, unopened.
Today, after not getting any homework in the week, I decided to try and fix the DS. I tinkered with it - tried different methods and finally succeeded in fixing it. So I opened Platinum, put it in and started playing. So far, I'm on route 202. More good news came though because, about a month ago, my dad fixed up a wireless router for the family to use and I managed to connect it to my DS which means I can play online for the first time. Now all I need is a gym badge.
