Mood: Note to self, don't work out so late again

Game of Thrones semi-reference aside, this winter has been the absolute worst. Don't get me wrong - usually I love the winter. Living in the northeastern part of the United States, I have very fond memories growing up with my brother playing in the mountains of snow outside of my house; activities would include sledding, snowball fights, the occasional licking of the yellow snow [( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)], but most of all just embracing the winter wonderland around us and having fun with it. Fast forward to almost 21 years of age now for myself, and you can probably get where I'm going to go with this...

Daily Music - "Do It Again" by The Ting Tings
    Spoiler:
I hate the cold. It's not a flimsy cold up here in Massachusetts, but a bitter one. This past month or so - but more specifically relating to the last two weeks - we've been absolutely mullered with blizzard after blizzard. We've had a minimum of two state of emergencies, and I recently just heard on the radio yesterday that the city of Boston has spent $30 million on snow cleaning excavations alone. It's absolute madness to say the least. We've literally ran out of room to put the snow - two way streets have been narrowed to one way streets now, as the average height of the snow goes above a Honda CRV. Like I said...absolute madness.

Daily Comic - "Flowers" by Bill Amend of FoxTrot
    Spoiler:
To make matters worse, because I've been working at an elementary school the past month or so we've had three weeks in a row now in which we've missed 2 or more days of school because of the snow. On paper that might sound fine and dandy, but unfortunately because my job run through my university I don't get the same benefits as other teachers may have. What that basically means is that I don't get paid for snow days, thus diminishing the amount of money I can make in a given week. Plus, on the days in which I do work, because I work recesses and the school wants the kids to go out, I have to face and endure the sheer cold winds Mother Nature throws my way. It's a cruel, cruel fate.

    Spoiler:
I just want this bloody winter to end already. I keep flip flopping between being a "summer guy" or a "winter guy," but after writing this entry I'm pretty sure I'm a summer guy. Not because I like summer or anything - it's too damn hot - but because it's the lesser of two evils. What about you guys? Do you like the winter? Have you gotten a lot of snow? If so, has it impeded in a certain way in your every day lives? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic!

‡ As always, the "Daily Bloggity" is self written by myself and includes just some of my opinions on different mediums. If you have a subject that you might want me to touch on, feel free to PM me or comment below! I would love to hear some of your ideas! And remember, rate each entry so I can know what you guys like and what to improve on! Tune in tomorrow at 5PM Eastern Time for the next edition of the "Daily Bloggity!" Cheers! ‡

  • Where I live snow just doesn't happen, but hail and torrential downpours do... the other day we had hail and it's summer. For the most part summer has been typical 40 degree Australian days... plus humidity and the occasional storm.

I heard that the Winter in the US was the worst it has ever been. The weather everywhere is going haywire... but there's no climate change of course. ;)

Yeah the winter has been absolutely dreadful, I can't think of another year that even compares. What are your winters like in Australia temperature wise? If your summers are 40 degrees, I can only imagine what the winters are like (unless it's stagnant.)
