  • I spent a lot of today whining about things like not feeling well, how windy and cold it was outside, not getting 100% on a quiz, the buses not running well... you know, annoying little things that make life suck sometimes.

But I got a call from my mom today to let me know that my cousin survived his emergency brain surgery for the tumour he only found out about yesterday and while he's gonna have to learn to walk all over again, he's probably going to be okay and he can still speak, remember his family, and all that jazz.

And suddenly the trivial things I was concerned with all day seem so ridiculously unimportant. It's just hard to imagine that while I was baaaawing over the fact that it was windy out, my cousin was faced with the fact that he was going into a surgery he might not survive and... well... lmao wow I just feel so ungrateful. (I'm not sure that's even the word I'm looking for. I just don't know how else to describe it.)

    I'm so glad he's okay though. :(

It's okay if you have your own concerns, you didn't know? :( But yeah, it is good that he's fine.

  • Wow, I'm really glad that he survived the surgery. You know, the same thing happened to me. You see...well a close "relative", so you could say(she's really close to my mom's friend and my sister's friend and stuff like that) died like a couple of days ago, and they had the funeral today. All the worry I had about my English assignments and my American History assignments just seemed so insignificant compared to the huge issue that just happened.

So I can really see where you're saying there, Erica.

It seems, it's things like this that really show you how simple, the simple things are in life.
It's almost like the saying "you don't know what you have, until it's gone." But stuff like this helps you appreciate things more.
Really does make you wonder, or show, how lucky some of us have it.

That's great that he is okay. This past summer a girl in my grade had to get open heart surgery and they stopped it for 30 seconds. O-O
But it must've been very severe if they had to do it the next day after finding out about your cousins tumor :<
