John C. Reilly, the voice of Wreck It Ralph, was probably ecstatic when he heard the news that they were going to make a sequel. Most likely, he won't be the only one with this news.
It was announced late last week through a Facebook video from Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore and screenwriter Phil Johnston that a sequel was in the works and that it would hit the big screen on March 8th, 2018. While the true plot isn't exactly available to the public, in an interview with Collider Moore revealed that it would involve Ralph breaking the Internet.

Rich Moore and Phil Johnston are working off of the success of their last project, Zootopia, which came out in March of this year. The sequel to Wreck-It Ralph will be the third project that they have worked together on, and if its anything like their previous two movies, it looks like Wreck It Ralph 2 will be something special.

In the first movie which came out in 2012, the plot followed arcade villain Wreck-It Ralph who wanted to be seen as more than just a villain. The story follows his adventure as he breaks out of his arcade cabinet and ventures into another game inevitably helping out another character, Vanellope von Schweetz and her goal in becoming a real playable character. The movie received a positive reception overall, garnishing an 87% rating on the Tomatometer and an 86% rating from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes.

Wreck-It Ralph 2 is one of many new movies coming out soon thanks to the business of Disney Animated Studios. On top of Zootopia which came out earlier this year, Moana, which follows the adventures of a young Polynesian girl and the demi-god Maui, is coming out on November 23rd of this year. Nonetheless, this is very exciting news for Wreck-It Ralph fans. What do you guys think? Is this sequel a good idea? Or should they have left it alone with the original? If you're looking forward to this sequel, what would you like to see in it? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic!
