Ah, what a wonderful feeling this is. What I am referring to specifically is the fact that as of now, I have successfully been able to land a job for my university's co-op program. As a quick reminder from my last account on the concept of co-op, it is a program offered by my university where we interchange between 6 months of classes and 6 months of work, thus allowing the majority of students a large resume of work experience so when they graduate they'll have an easier chance of landing a job. It's a great opportunity to say the least.

    Spoiler:
Overall though, it took awhile for me to land the job. I was able to successfully land a job after my fourth interview, but that isn't to say that it's a really accurate account of how well I did when it came to the entire interview process. For one thing, I actually had a pretty well-rounded resume: lots of volunteer work experience working with children - the job(s) I had sought out for were related to working with children - as well as a job in where I've occupied for 5+ years (and now am a manager at!) are just some of the highlights of my resume. However, the real major flaw was just that I didn't have much experience when it came to the actual interview portion of the job search (pretty ironic considering I do a lot of interviews on PC eh?) Nonetheless, mistakes were made and I made absolutely sure that they wouldn't happen again, but the damage was done in which it took me till my fourth interview to have a "perfect" interview.

    Spoiler:
Without disclosing too much information about where I am working, I have taken up on a job in which my role is of an educator in an elementary school. I will be assisting teachers with daily duties, as well as covering classes that don't have teachers for the day which can range from social studies to Spanish and Kindergarten to 5th Grade. Duties also include running lunches and recesses for all grades, basically allowing me to have a very hands on approach with the school. I am hoping one day to become a teacher so I strongly believe that the experience gained through the co-op will be a great stepping stone to what I want to accomplish.

    Spoiler:
My co-op doesn't actually start till January so I have plenty of time to mull ove rthe idea of what I'm going to be exactly doing in the job. Excitement, anxiety, and fulfillment are just some of the things going through my mind as I write this, which makes me wish/dread the date in which I start my job to come around. Nonetheless, I'm just happy and filled with relief that the search is over and I actually have a co-op job in the spring. Only time will tell in how it will go though, and as the days keep ticking by it only proves that the future has no limits on what could possibly be in store. What about you guys? What do you want to do for a job/career? If you're currently in college, are you happy in the major you are in? What has your experience been like when it comes to being interviewed? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic.
