  • So, I finally finished my playthrough of Saiph 2, and I thought I would share my thoughts. First off, I'd like to say that I was quite invested in the story for the most part. I love how each of the characters have their own personalities that really make them stand out, especially Sina. The custom sound-track in particular is just *chef kiss*. However, i do have my fair share of gripes with the hack. For starter's, the whole "Regression" mechanic was quite a let down especially if you picked Mudkip as a starter since it's just Mega Swampert and dampened the immersion value. I am fully aware there are custom forms for other mons,, but it would have been really nice to see custom sprite-work for Pokémon that already have mega evos. Lastly, I fee like there were far too many grunts in areas where you had to face off against the regressionists. Still a really fun hack, just needs a good amount of polishing done.

    I heard this about Regression a lot, but I can't do much more (I mean I could, but I mean according to my own plans), as the plan with this was just to make Mega Evolution a thing in the VytroVerse without the need to involve the whole Kalos war and Weapon lore, that's why I added new ones too, but kept the original forms that were already in official games.
    I might lower the amount of the grunts in those areas a bit for v1.3!

    Report two bug:
    1. Pokemon Center music bug, seems happen randomly on talking to NPC, music suddenly silent or replay. Walking on left or right edge of exit triggers it randomly too.
    2. On mGBA without VBA bug compatibly, or latest VBA-M (2.1.7), new game will cause softlock, stay at black screen.

    ITPNav disappeared after gain Pokedex & DexNav, is this normal? I can't look quest list & map now :(

    Well, I see that ITPNav patch… oops, why I can't see it earlier? Not big problem though, I can modify RAM to make it back go back to Tempou Town to get ITPNav back֍
    Two issues:
    1. After quest, sweet berry still appear on Falahte Lakefront and can be obtained… is it intentional?
    2. When try using an item that not in time… who's Oak😂

    Yeah I included a troubleshooting method for those that are already past that point at Tempou Town haha

    Vba-m is listed as a generally incompatible emulator, as to mgba, will test around whats up, because mgba does work with a few quirks

    Just new game has issue, the later are normal. I'm using GBA.emu to play this game (it uses VBA-M core) because I don't like MyBoy.

    Loving the game on, but I have a couple of question.

    1. I'm planning on using the Dexnav to shiny hunt. Does this have the same increased shiny odds as the main Pokémon games?

    2. Is there a way to change a Pokémon's nature in game without using a cheat?

    Special, after Hall of Fame screen, there still have some dialogs, then staff credits, nice here modified sprite to match protagonist.

    I've noticed the same issue with the battle frontier. I ran a couple streaks in the battle marine and then decided to do the cord tower; since then I haven't been able to start a streak in any of the facilities.

    Frankly, I thought the amount of grunts was perfect. It was a nice gauntlet and if you were tricky you could skip past a couple of them. the Grunt gauntlets were also the best way to make money in the game so having a lot of them around helped with buying TMs and other necessities from the mall or whereever.
