Omg, I beat a Pokemon game for the first time in my life!

Oh God. -dies- I've been playing Pokemon games since Kindergarten, and lo and behold, at 14 I finally beat it. I finally beat it! I'm soooo happy. I figured this would go here, since it's a celebration for me. God, I can't say in words how happy I am. I sure am going to miss my Haunter though. I was like... attached to him. It was creepyweird. I had these Pokemon upon beating the game:

    Thunder/Jolteon - Lv. 41
    Shadow/Umbreon - Lv. 42
    Haunter - Lv. 51
    Typhlosion - Lv. 56
    Arcanine - Lv. 42
    Suicune - Lv. 50

I spent ages and ages getting them up there. I spent ages getting them to where they could beat the Elite Four. But if it weren't for Haunter... It never would have happened.

I used Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo successfully on all of Lance's Pokemon except for the Lv. 50 Dragonite. I tried it but it didn't work, and rather resulted in my lovely fainting. So I put Typhlosion out there, and finished it off with a series of "Fire Wheel"s. And then it was over. I just sat there, mouth agape and staring as myself and my Pokemon were all put in the HoF, and still sat there staring as the credits rolled past. Of course, I was rather unhappy that it was over just like that, no chance to do anything else, but I will be checking just in case I can do other stuff ;] And that was that. I ran in here to yell it at my friend. And then came on here. :] I just never thought I'd do it. <3 Sorry about my rambling post that a 5-year-old might make, but I just could not help myself.

I bet that was a weight off your shoulders, eh? Congratulations. I don't remember the levels of my Pokémon when I defeated the Elite Four, though.

What game was this by the way? It sounds like one of the metal versions.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. :P I mean, I felt the same towards my Meganium in my Gold version. Then Ho-oh came along ...

You know...if you were using Dream Eater to begin with then it's no wonder that it was so hard (Terrible, terrible move, especially if you need to rely on the 55 accuracy Hypnosis to get it in >_>). Really, the E4s are hardly a challenge in any generation. Suicune should have been more than enough on its own because all of lance's pokémon are either water or ice weak (Except Gyarados, which should be handled by Jolteon in one shot). Reflect keeps away all major damage then Surf and Ice Beam/Aurora Beam ftw. Oh well, congrats I guess. I do relate to the feeling of glee on a first win. Had it myself in GSC, although I won by a combo of Graveler and Meganium, both 40-something, my team was a mess and horribly undertrained. xP

Wow, that long? I mean, no offense, but a game of Pokemon can be beat in less than a week. You must have had some serious time constrictions for it to take years to complete one game. Did you like, take a break for a couple of years or something?

Anywho, congrats. Welcome to the hall of fame. Not a bad lineup, but make sure you give them all good movesets, too.

Hey, hey, Dream Eater's not such a bad move. It's Hypnosis that's the problem. That's why I plan to use Darkrai. Its Dark Void is unavoidable. (y)

Congratulations. I too also wonder why it took you so long to beat the game, and what game it is. I've never used the Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo myself, due to Hypnosis's accuracy being so low.

I remember when I first beat Blue. My team was so horrible, but I was so proud of myself. xP

It's Crystal, and with Haunter it seems hyponosis works nearly every time. Also, I've restarted the game many, many times after getting frustrated and giving up. -pines over her old Growlithe, Fire Puppy, from like the 5th grade- And my movesets are probably horrid, to you guys, but for me they work great :] Jolteon is probably my weakest Pokemon. Movesets:

    Haunter
    Hypnosis
    Destiny Bond
    Dream Eater
    Shadow Ball

    Arcanine
    Bite
    Dig
    Ember
    Leer

    Umbreon
    Quick Attack
    Faint Attack
    Bite
    Return

    Suicune
    Waterfall
    Surf
    Rock Smash
    Whirlpool

    Thunder
    Flash
    Double Kick
    Pin Missile
    Quick Attack

    Typhlosion
    Cut
    Strength
    Fire Punch
    Flame Wheel

My strategies are a bit weird, but they're what work for me. I'm working on training my Dratini now, I've gone to Johto with my old team :]

Anybody know where I can get both a Fire Stone and a Water Stone? I intended to have all the Eeveeloutions but it never happened - I only have three.

Kanto, I meant Kanto. -facepalm- And, Jesus, don't make me feel retarded. I had the HM moves because they were the moves I needed for some things and this was my only team. With a backup Noctowl. Am I really that horrible?

And what do you mean by 'special'?

So I figured. Well, thanks a lot for ruining my happiness. You must not have noticed that I'm only 14.

I finished my first Pokemon game when I was 9!

And I did it twice!

But in all seriousness, the games can be hard at times. I couldn't get pass the Ecruteak City Gym for a year because I couldn't figure out the puzzle, but then again I was 8...

Wow, I'm 14 too! Wait...your feelings got hurt by that, and your 14 years old?

Just kidding, seriously congratulations. You must have been on a pretty odd training schedule to take it that long to make your team strong enough to beat the elite four. Also, what game is this the original or the remake?

Congrats. I've also had to deal with an event like this.

It took me 3 years since I got my first 2 Pokemon Games (Red and Blue, around the release date) to beat the E4 for the first time (On Yellow).

I'd like to give A big hand to Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. Who I, without those wonderful 3, would've never won against the E4.

Ehh...yeah, let's not even get me started about those movesets. Umbreon (the walling utility pokémon) with only damaging moves? Full HM Suicune? Shadow Ball Haunter? (That's a physical move, you know, and Haunter sucks with physical moves) Dig? Jolteon without an electric move? Normally you'd want to play on your pokémon's strengths and cover their weaknesses, not the other way around. .___. But yeah, this isn't Strategies and Movesets so I'll leave it at that.

Hey, hey, Dream Eater's not such a bad move. It's Hypnosis that's the problem. That's why I plan to use Darkrai. Its Dark Void is unavoidable. (y)

BS, Dream Eater is a god-awful move. The only reason it works ingame is because the AI is absolutely clueless. What do you think any opponent with even the slightest clue of strategy will do? Switch out the sleeper - enjoying a free switch because Dream Eater won't do squat - and then KO whatever unfortunate pokémon is saddled with that move. I feel really sorry for your Darkrai to be stuck with a move like that. It has sooo much more potential. Damaging psychic moves aren't really any good on non-psychic pokémon unless you really have no other options. .___.
