Wow, I'm glad I don't care if something is canon or not. I support what I like.

Actually I lie. I kind of hate Gracefulshipping for being an obstacle to Originshipping. Maybe if it had good chemistry, but it doesn't. I can see them as friends but they just don't work well together that way.

Also next person to say something relating to 'pokemon/human is stupid/gross/wrong/bad/impossible' gets impaled on a Staffshipping flag.

Anywho...I don't know why some of you are saying Pokeshipping is dead! I mean that must mean that advanceshipping is dead also. Besides-- it isn't like Ash hasn't mentioned Misty at all in D&P! Example, take episode 34 of Diamond and Pearl...Ash mentioned her there (not saying its a poke hint OK?! >.>;;). She's not dead ;-; nor is advanceshipping. Just putting that out, and I bet Misty and I believe May is for sure coming back to the show for a visit.

Pokeshipping is deader then Lucario? I don't care. On the end of the 8. movie Ash said something like "Lucario is never dead as long as we remember him" I hold it with that.

A pairing is never dead until the fandom itself leaves it, as for me I am a Ikarishipper with no real valid proof of its existent besides I like 'Opposites attract' in this pairing.

AdvancedK9, how could you say that Pokeshipping is dead? The person above me just stated the obvious. I believe that no shipping is ever dead. The fact that you along with others are stating that Pokeshipping is dead is an unfair judgement and is also immature to say. Perhaps this is because you've encountered many Pokeshippers who fit this stereotype? Sorry if you have so, but you can't assume that every Pokeshipper is like this. There are all sorts of shippers. Perhaps you might want to change your opinion about what you're saying. You basically insulted every shipping that is supposedingly "dead", mainly Pokeshipping.

None of us are insulting you guys by blurting out "IT'S DEAD, YAY". The only kind of people that do this are immature, ignorant people who do not realize. I respect all shippings no matter how much I disagree with their point of views. If you could do the same [along with those of you who decided to jump in with the insults], that would be awesome.

How you mentioned how Pokeshippers are living in the past... I disagree. Maybe the ones you met were like that, but again, you can't make that assumption about all Pokeshippers. I know plenty that are updated with the anime today. Pokeshipping is in the past and present as well as most shippings are. It still lives no matter how much you want to deny it. What I am curious about is why you care about Pokeshipping so much; does it bother you that much no matter where you go?

Aren't we all in the same boat here? Altoshipping was all the way back in the fifth movie, so how in the world is Pokeshipping more dead than that? I'm not insulting you or anything but what you're saying doesn't make sense. Latias hasn't been seen or mentioned years ago. I have nothing against Altoshipping, though so please do not take it as anything insulting.

I disagree greatly. Like I just stated before along with the other person, a shipping is never dead even when the series ends. There are so many fandoms out there who know how to keep it alive, ones that ended/were cancelled years ago. You don't have to agree with what the others are saying, though. What I'm saying is no matter how long ago the shipping was, there will always be supporters. I'm speaking in a general sense; it doesn't even have to be shipping for all we care. These are called memories, a time that is cherished in the life of anyone and chooses to remember it.

Like someone briefly mentioned, Misty was mentioned in this season. Dawn became curious about Misty when her lure was shown and wanted to fish with it but Ash wouldn't let her. We're better off discussing that in the club since that doesn't really go under debates. :3

Show-wise, however, it might as well be dead. misty's left, we rarely even hear about her, with the small exceptions such as the lure thing. it may not be dead, but they writers sure aren't liable to re-intro it.

that, you must admit, is probably true. same goes for just about any old shipping that we haven't heard from in a while.

don't forget accordshipping (movie 10) that's like, as official as it gets. It's actually kind of annoying how the writers can't really throw in many officially canon shippings, i've seen a grand total of.... one. which is accordshipping.

i suppose there are no dead shippings as long as there are still fans of said shipping. You strike up a good point, there are so many pro's and cons to every shipping.

for example, pokeshipping has a lot of fans, and has been called one of the most canon ashshippings to date. on the other hand, the stories tend to be very similar in plot, and often drab.

On the other side, Altoshipping has a small, but highly creative fanbase, but many people would take offense at human/pokemon stuff.

that's all i really have to say right now, i'm very distracted at the moment.

Saying that Pokeshipping is dead is ALMOST saying that it's pointless to study the creatures that have lived before. Namely the Dinosaurs and stuff.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure the main reason the writers wont do 'heavy' romance, is being The main characters cast as 10-13, Hugs we've seen, even yes a kiss 'on the cheek' thats as far I see it getting. With the expect of brock, team rocket etc, our main characters wont be going steady on dates with anyone.

Rubbing in faces???! o_0 That happened eons ago and you all still showed denial. That virtually had to be a kick in the face for that reaction of truth. Hey it's natural, denial is just the beginning phase of depression. Somehow it went quickly for me when May went away. BTW, Their is a new director for the sub in Battle Dimension. Chances are a shipping will be focused so be prepared to catch the false ones. Learn from 4kids people

I've been watching this debate for a while, and I have to ask you something, AdvancedK9: Why is Pearlshipping "For The Win"? You haven't really cited any examples, unless you've done so far earlier in this thread.

When debating, you can't just throw your opinion out there and expect people to accept it. If I assume this correctly, this thread is here for talking about ships, proving which one has more of a chance of happening, and proving which one has less of a chance of happening.

You can't just say that a particular ship is "dead" without proving it somehow. And, to me, if there are still fans willing to prove that Pokeshipping had some hints in the show, then that means that Pokeshipping is far from dead. It's still alive as long as people want to keep it alive.

You want people to see your side of Pearlshipping? Then prove it. Don't run around insulting others. You had your "reasons" as to why Pokeshipping wouldn't work out, but none of those could really hold true, as Kasu-chan told you.

Besides, how much of a fan are you if you drop a shipping just because a character leaves the show? You used to support Advanceshipping, but once May left, you moved onto Pearlshipping. If you were truly a fan of a ship, you would stay with it instead of just jumping on whatever fan-wagon you can. Heck, I've stayed with the only Pokemon ship involving two canon characters that I like, and one of the characters in that ship hasn't been on the show for almost three years. But did I drop the ship the moment that the character left the show? No.

Has Ash ever went in a solo adventure with Misty? No.

I believe that you completely missed the first few episodes of the series before Brock came along, and I'm sure there were other episodes.

Look, don't just bash Pokeshipping because you don't agree with it. And if you want to disprove Pokeshipping and prove Pearlshipping, then use some actual canon proof.

Pearlshipping FTW.

Prove it. With something other than "He and Dawn are the same age lololol". Because that was a really inane reason why Pokeshipping couldn't be true. How many couples out there in the real world do you see that are different ages?

It's clear to say that Latias has the same eye color as Bianca's when she transforms into Bianca. You must be pretty color-blinded to not notice that. As the debate of who kissed Ash in that 5th movie still goes on, it is only the fans that can keep it going... ;D

Well, I think it was good for those writers and animators to leave some mystery behind who really kissed Ash in the 5th Movie. Although for me, I would believe it was Bianca... some people would still go for Latias...

My reasons for it being Bianca: One, Lorenzo said that Bianca was going to the market but he also mentioned that she could still be around; Two, Bianca purposely left her hat on the easel so she can make Ash think that it was Latias who kissed him... and Three, question for all of you "can Latias draw?" tell me, I have yet to see this before I believe that it was Latias who made that drawing and also kissed Ash... >D

So yeah, my opinion on the said mystery... *runs off now*

you can debate it all you like, but anyone who paid any attention to the movie at all knows that it was more likely latias than bianca. There's so much "evidence" for bianca that can be completely nullified, it's not worth counting at all. I can put down almost every hint on bulbapedia. Except for one, but we'll get there.

When Ash was handed the picture of him and Pikachu, it was likely Bianca, because it's unusual for anyone to give away someone else's art. Plus, it couldn't have been Latias's picture, since Latias can't talk or draw.

My foot. She's best friends with bianca, they hang out together all the time. That much is obvious. How do you know Latias didn't draw it, or get Bianca's help with drawing it?

Bianca's hat was left on the easel, so there's no true evidence that it was Latias who kissed Ash

this is the one i can't toss completely, but i can partways. There's plenty of evidence it was latias.

When Ash saw Bianca and Lorenzo in trouble, Ash said, "Bianca! And Lorenzo." Notice that he said Bianca's name first and with more enthusiasm, showing that he cares about her.

Again, my foot it does. If you recall, she came into view first, so he was more surprised. That's why he said it that way. Once he saw her, He pretty much figured Lorenzo had been caught too, and was ready for it.

Ash always thought it was Bianca first when Latias approached him, even after he knew Latias often took her form. In other words, he was in a way looking forward to Bianca being there more often.

-laughs- what kind of evidence is that?! If I knew somebody who could shapeshift, and he'd shapeshifted into one of my friends before, does that mean I'd think it was him every time I saw that friend? Again, Hint nullified.

and now, for the finale, the stupidest and most rediculous hint on the list.

Not long after Ash was kissed and his "lover" ran off, Latias was seen flying high in the sky, while Bianca was still by the water, seen painting.

what?! How does that contribute?! besides, this was almost definitely several hours later. When Ash left, it looked to be around midday, and when this scene happened, it was sunset. If it were only moments later, it would be all the proof I need that it was Latias. Notice, in this scene, how Bianca was, once again, wearing the hat? that completely nullifies the hint. The Person who kissed Ash wasn't wearing the hat, as stated above, it was left in Bianca's room. Unless she could pull another one out of thin air, this hint's dead. Not to mention, Latias can fly very quickly. Thus, once more disproving this "hint". That makes at least three times.
