4th Gen Gold/Silver Remakes: I'm tired of the..

I, personally, think that the Gold and Silver games should be the same as the old ones. Sure, Firered and Leafgreen updated things a little and gave you extra treats at the end because it was a game special. That too, will be true for HeartGold and SoulSilver.

But, I don't think they should just fling in Sinnoh Pokemon or change the layout of the game, remove whole cities and replace them with Sinnoh cities or add Sinnoh gewgaws and gizmos just because everyone likes them.

Everyone just a week ago was complaining about Platinum/Diamond/Pearl and how much "D/P/P sukz arse &&&& R lyk digimon &&& no 1 lyks those gaems &&& there pokaman r ugly"

And

"i mis T old gaems lyk glod & slivre & red & blue & yeller cuz theye iz kewl-R & better-er than stooped d/p/p"

It was a sluggish whining before. Now it's just RAGE.

Personally, if you want Sinnoh back, go back to playing the game you said you hated last week.

Sure, Sinnoh's kinda cool.. the game is the best part. The Pokemon, I kind of like. It's new and creative and I give them a triple A plus for it. But when they're remaking a game, they're purposely trying to be unoriginal---nothing is more unoriginal than a remake of something. It's OBVIOUSLY not going to be Sinnoh, it'll be Gold and Silver with a few tweaks.

Gold was the first Gameboy game--let alone Pokemon gameboy game--that I EVER played and yes, the storyline was crappy and outdated for it's TIME ten years ago and will DEFINITELY be outdated now. But, what are you guys complaining about? The gold and silver games have existed this whole time, you weren't complaining before. I personally can't WAIT to start off on that old nostalgic game no matter how 'boring' you other people think it is because it doesn't have a Piplup as a starter choice. I think it was cool just the way it was, and I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing it in partial 3D with all of the glitches removed and bring back some of that old game experience.

This is what Nintendo wants to do. I'd really personally REALLY like it if everyone quit talking about SINNOH in this thread. There's a whole other thread for that. Who here agrees with me on any of this.

I hope they only change the looks... i don't want a whole lot changed from the originals. Gold and Silver are still my FAVORITE pokemon games to date. No other can beat them.

Me? I personally accept all the games with open arms and no matter how many flaws I will still have a fun experience. If they were to add say all the Sinnoh evolutions and pre evolutions I would not mind as some Pokemon severely lack the strength their evolutions have and need it to at least make the game enjoyable with them in your team. I find the fact that fr/lg did not have the gen 2 evolutions to some Kanto Pokemon because it Johto was still not covered yet. Now that it is they will surely be in and I do not see why not for the Gen4 evolutions pre-evolutions, because as I said the severe lack of strength for some Pokemon.

Now for the storyline and additions? While yes it was crappy and outdated it wil be too crappy and outdated for it to be feasibly in game. It will dumb down not only the experience but the game alone if they do not make the proper changes to it. Kanto will not be downsized as the space is there and again will severly hurt the game. While yes this is a remake they treat it more of a revisioning. Meaning a chance to make things right again and Gen2 was the one that needed it the most. With the capabilties of the DS(i) this is very possible and I see no reason for Gamefreak not to revision it with a proper story that is up to date and a proper sized Kanto bar Cinnabar.

I've hardly seen anyone say "G/S sucks!!!!!11l1o1" but then again, I've been hanging around that new section so I don't know.

As for the looks of the new games, it's only natural that they're going to resemble D/P/Pt because THEY'RE MADE FOR THE SAME GENERATION, that generation being DS games and not GBA/GB games. No matter what they do, they're still going to resemble the style that is prominent in the 4th gen games.

Personally, I'm just happy that they made remakes of these games, and hell... that Nintendo even maybe listened to its fanbase. It gives many possibilities for the future.

...Pardon? I recognize the complaints regarding the inclusion of Sinnoh Pokemon as well as including Celebi, but where are you getting the idea that this means everyone suddenly hates the original 2nd Generation games? Talking about what features/Pokemon could be added from Sinnoh is perfectly legitimate speculation, especially given the precedent of FireRed and LeafGreen. It does not at all refer to a specific hatred of the originals, and in fact I had not even seen any such complaints made anywhere before you posted this thread.

Lol I find this thread funny. I think I have to agree with Sloofish on this one. But everyone has their own opinions. I think when Sloofish said "everyone is complaining about G/S," he meant what people were saying in the "I don't want..." thread. To the ones who complain about the low levels, uh hello?! Those were before the later games where they fixed things. They made the levels better in the newer games.I honestly don't think he meant "everyone," when he said "everyone is complaining about Johto;" he meant "a lot of people," but the word, "everyone," still gets the point across. Don't take things too literally, people. The remakes will be an improvement of GS. Just be patient everyone and don't criticize a game (HG/SS) when you don't know everything about it yet.

Everyone in my family and all of my friends are saying it, they have all their friends saying it. Mostly not on Pokecommunity but people on Bulbagarden and Gamespot forums are complaining. Everywhere I go--except of course on this forum(Some here too) are complaining about how much they HATE Gold and Silver. They start trashing all the individual pokemon and characters too. Around me, and some of the other forums, it's everywhere. I'm really tired of it. Especially when all these people hated D/P/P just a week ago.

Well yes... General update of the look was necessary... who wants to play a re-release of the same graphics? what's the point in that? Chikorita walking behind.. OK nod to yellow... i get it.... i just don't want like the main parts of it to change.. like... Lance, The Red Gyrados, Mount Silver, Kanto, Red Battle, Silver stealing the pokemon, the Dragon Cave... the meat of what made these games so great. As long as they keep true to the originals in that aspect... this will be my new favorite pokemon game

This is so sadly true. I was on Serebii the other night and there was suddenly so much bashing of GSC. I even saw several pages of stuff like "GSC sucks! RSE was so much better!" I was laughing when I was reading these post, because im sure two weeks earlier they would have said "RSE were the worst games ever, we need GSC Remakes"
And the stuff about the PokeGear being inferior to the Etch is rediculous. Its comparing Apples and oranges. the pokeGear had its better qualities in the Cell Phone and Radio (which I liked better), but the Etch takes the lead in the Breeding equipment, builit in ItemFinder and marking map apps. I personally prefer the PokeGear, but the Etch is ok too. I think our fandom needs to stop whining about everything though. We were telling Game Freak we wanted a GSC remake for at least 5 years now. We got what we asked for. Thats no small task. A good comparison is the Chrono fandom which has been begging for a new game for almost 10 years and got a port of the first game instead. We did the impossible. Lets enjoy it without going on about the negatives.

So I would suggest reading through the threads before coming to this conclusion. It's a remake, new title, new features, new graphics...a basic upgrade and more to come that most of us don't know about. I siggest you chill, rather than taking up so much space here.
