    I like this new character. (I have almost the same hair color except mine has more red in it.) They actually made overalls look trendy with the red shirt instead of country farmer. (I'm imagining bangs underneath the hat.) I don't mind that they replaced Kris.

    It's true, and I stated it before too. Crystal just wasn't the original female from GS, and seeing as they needed to add a female back in to continue the new flow, bringing ina more original character would make it more GS and not too much Crystal based either. In addition to this, the more I see her scanned pic, I get to like her more and more. I think it'll only take some time before more accept the new female...

    Yuo never knew if they add Crystal in for a little Cameo in the game, just for nostalgia sake.

    I may just choose the male trainer. I wish Crystal was back. I'm not a fan of the random black bands on her legs, the overalls, and the huge hat. Also, there's a lack of blue hair.

    I see where you're coming from, but it still doesn't feel right, especially since she was the first playable female.

    Taking out Kris is like taking out the Battle Tower just because it's not in the originals. They were both in the final Johto game and had a large impact not only there but in games to come.

    Everyone stating that Blue hair is more epic is kind of silly. I mean, yeah having Crystal might have been better, but not even Crystal was an original in GS or Gen. II, simply because she wasn't even there from the start of GS, not until the third game of Gen. II came out...So, adding this new female character wasn't a bad move at all. It was a choice based on keeping the game pretty much original on how it was. Just be glad that you have a female character to choose and that there is a remake for you to enjoy [when it is released]. Her style pretty much matches a lot about the Johto. She looks like she can be a girl from the Miltank Farm.

    I thought it looked like she is wearing white and black knee highs... (That's how it looks on serebii.) I'm not a fan of mini skirts and blue hair, but that's just me. I like natural hair colors better. I like this new character. It's different and it seems Johto-like.

    Yeah. As I said she has this farming look. But Johto is more modern with farming. And that is what she is. The overalls scream farm girl but the bag the hat the knee highs all scream modern trendy girl from a farm! I cannot wait for her in game sprite.

    Kanto is the Industrial side, and Johto is the Country side, so I agree that it fits Johto a lot more.

    I dont see why you shouldnt use the female created in the GSC set of games, she is the first female character as well, and the fact that I always play as the girl, even though I'm a guy (I prefer the girl characters), and dislike this one, well, I would prefer her better if she was Crystal... Sure I'll get used to her, but, actually, Johto is the more industrialised if you wish, out of Kanto and Hoenn, though it doesent look it.

    I am seriously pissed off. Crystal is my favorite female Pokémon character, one of the only ones, along with Blue/Green, that I actually really like.
    If Crystal isn't even in the game, I'll be very very mad.

    Of course, this won't stop be from actually buying the game, (I'll just play as Gold instead) it just really really pisses me off.




    She looks like a female Mario.

    Seeing as Kris was the girl for crystal not gs not appearing here was my second guess. I couldn't also image how they would update her look in a way they could update golds. She in my opinion is the only character that can't really get much of an updated look. And anyway Kris was crystal not Gold or Silver. This girl also fits in better then her.

    Wouldn't it be funny if with all this complaining about the new girl leads them to make a Yellow and Crystal remake... and for the wii? If you want to see Crystal redone, send them a gazillion letters asking for a Crystal remake. I wouldn't mind seeing a Crystal remake. lol Just b/c they didn't make a Yellow remake, doesn't mean they won't do any 3rd game remake. Like I said, I'm happy there is a new girl, b/c I don't like blue hair.

    Exactly, there have been other Manga characters they used and changed their appearance. They did it to Red, and it isn't hard to believe this female could be Crystal. the hair style is almost the same, and the standing position is a bit similar.

    I really hate that Kris got demoted out of the series. Im a male, but even I must say I have respect for her as the first female player character in the series. However, she might be in the game as a NPC though. In Pokemon Special she became Prof. Oak's Assistant. Since Elm's lab got a renovation maybe shes working upstairs in the Lab. She could even be that girl from Crystal and GS who desperately wanted to be Elm's Aide!

    At first I was a little disappointed to see Kris/Crystal gone, but I'm really beginning to like the new female character. She seems to really fit in alongside Gold's new design, as her wardrobe is based on the same sort of style and color scheme.

    It makes sense for there to be a new female character, because, as some previous posters have stated, this is not a remake of Crystal. It is a remake of Gold/Silver - in which the originals didn't even have a female character. I'm very glad to see that there is indeed a female character to play as in the remake. Though I didn't mind playing as Gold in the original version, I like having the option of choosing a female player in the newer games.

    No no this is a 100% unidentified new character in place for the girl. Her name is unknown for now but she is definitely new. So get used to it. Trendy Euro farm girl is here!
