4th Gen Epic saves

lol, so i thought i would make a thread to discuss everyones epic saves or wins out of tight spaces lol. for me it was yesterday playing hg, i was fighting bruno's hitmonlee, his last pokemon i think lv. 43? and my donphan, lv. 37, (i just added to team) used earthquake over and over and beat it, as its high jump kick kept missing! :)

so, what are some of your epic wins of hgss?

Oh this happened like 6 days ago, I was battling Bugsy and was all out of pokemon. He was on his Scyther and just killed my mareep, she paralyzed him (Causeing him to always go last) and my lvl 9 Ponyta one hit him! From full hp!

Paralyzing only cuts the speed by about half. Still, more then likely the pokemon will still go last. :/

Oh god, Bugsy's Scyther was a monster to take down. I had to grind like 4 pokemon and now 3 of those are in my PC sitting after that battle. (Besides my starter) Basically, I was carrying 5 guys - 4 alright guys and one Rattata. Bugsy had already wasted his Potions that he would use, and my last guy besides Rattata had withered him down before dying to about a few HP. Send out Rattata, Quick Attack! ;D

Hahahaha... Oh, that Lance! I beat him about two days ago, and his Lv. 50 Dragonite knocked out two of my strongest Pokémon! THANK GOD for my Vaporeon (♀) with Aurora Beam! His Outrage did nasty damage! That was one close battle... His other Pokemon were really easy, though. I was literally about to explode with ten thousand pounds of relief!

I know you all care, so I'll tell you: I think that the picture of Lance in the HG/SS Guide Book makes him look weird because he barely has a nose! =D *Bursts out laughing*

Yesterday, when I was battling Whitney, and her Miltank was pissing me off with using Milk Drink. I only had my Quilava left and I had to keep using Flame Wheel, and the Miltank was burned, so I had a little extra help. But she still kept using Milk Drink, until it finally ran out of PP, and I had one PP left for Flame Wheel, so I used it, and it had just about 1HP left. I got really pissed until she was hurt by the burn. Made me very joyful. C:

 

[I Tried Voodoo Once]

when i first battled red, i had my last poke, arcanine, out, and he had his charizard out, and his snorlax and venasaur left
his charizard kept using one of its fire type moves, and my arcanine kept getting powere up because of flash fire,
1 Espeed and 1 Flare blitz took it out
because i was powered up so much, by the time he sent out snorlax, my fire attacks were maxed out, so i just used 1 flare blitz, killed snorlax, then here was the hard part.
having barely any health left (40+ HP) from all the recoil damage, i had to use flame thrower on venusaur, he survived, and venasaur used sunny day...

SUNNY DAY, when i had 40 somethign hp left, and i KO'd him with a flamethrower...

after a 10 second pause i was like

holy #$^&....

YESSS!!!!!!!!

This was rather epic indeed. I was just battling everyone in the National Park to level up, and the game decided to use crit hax on me with a certain Bug catcher. Before long, I was down to only my Togepi. Because I didn't want to use any Revives, I began spamming Metronome. The following occurred.
"Togepi used Metronome! Togepi used Aeroblast!"
"Togepi used Metronome! Togepi used Psycho Boost!"
"Foe fainted!"
"Togepi grew to Lv. 20-something!"
"Whats this? Your Togepi is evolving!"

Best evolution sequence EVER.

Ok, so I was battling Gary in the final gym. It was my Torterra vs. his Gyrados...and he used Ice Fang XD Usually whenever faced with ice fang (from Silver's Ferligator) My Torterra, with a high level gap, faints, even though it's my tank =p However, his HP suprisingly stopped around the low yellow (about 40-60 HP). After that, he actually attacked with leaf storm, while I just watched in awe =D

I've got one, I was battling Blaine but his Magmar kept confusing my Pokemon so my Pokemon were dieing one by one. It was my Typhlosion against his Magmar and Rapidash and somehow, using Dig, my Typhlosion killed both of them.

everyone i know says that chikorita is garbage so i chose him out of pity

We go to the first gym, chikorita DESTROYS the gym without even trying (somehow kept getting criticals lol)

second gym, destroys as well, except for that scyther. we got him down to about 1/4 health

i love chikorita :)

1st time fighting Lance, in SS, He sent out his last guy(Dragonite), and Typhlosion had like 1HP and I had no revives or potions, its attacks kept missing, and I beat it.

My medicham against one of Lance's dragonite would have to be an epic save. He missed thunder and I nailed him with an ice punch that froze him so I beat him next turn.

I think I was battling Lance, and his Gyarados (last Pokemon) used a DDance, DDance, Waterfall combo on my Tyranitar. I was like "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU" All of a sudden. 5 HP. Stone Edge. "YEEEESSSSS"

Togetic is such an amazing Pokemon. Before facing Morty, I made sure that I have a strong Normal-type Pokemon. So, I chose to evolve Togepi. It took a really long time, but he evolved eventually.

Anyways, my Pokemons finished his gym pretty quickly. Before he brought out Gengar, I switched out my Haunter for Togetic. The situation was simple after this; Gengar's attacks couldn't hit Togetic, so I abused Metronome to its last PP.

The Gengar was knocked out after an Aurora Beam, Thunder Punch, and Rock Throw.

I was just facing Ariana for the second time, and I didn't want to lose, because I barely have any money.

So I luckily got her Murkrow with full HP down in one with my Delibird's avalanche. She only had 4HP, mah poor little bird. :lol:

Okay, so I have to say this. My Slowpoke, or now a Slowbro, is my most usefull team member so far. This cute little pig/otter thing has saved my rump countless times. My favorite thing he did for me was when I fought Jasmine too early and her Steelix was 15 levels higher then my entire team, and it just stomped on everything. I pulled out this guy and made him use surf. Critical Hit. In the end, my Slowpoke was at low life and couldn't take out a Magmite by itself, luckily I still had my Quilava (These were my only 2 Pokemon). Sent him out, bam Paralyzed and confused in the first 2 turns. Tried attacking, couldn't. Tried again, hurt myself. I managed to take another chance while I had 4 HP. Another Critical Hit. I managed to win by the skin of my teeth.

Oh, Whitney. Whitney and her Miltank. The most infuriating battle of the game?

I had used up my Pidgeotto and Flaaffy on Clefairy and just managing to paralyse it. At this point, I hadn't gotten Vulpix yet, so it was Croconaw or nothing.

I just kept spamming Ice Fang, healing up when I needed to, and it was using Stomp and Milk Drink. I was in a situation where I had no potions left, just 2HP and the damn Miltank was just in the red.

And it couldn't move from paralysis! Croconaw just managed to get that last Ice Fang in for a victory!

vs. Green for my 16th Badge on my previous runthrough (I restarted, realising my team wasn't strong enough, as I'd tried to rebuild in Kanto, and failed).

I managed ok on his team, with my team:

Politoed lv.57
Marowak lv.57
Snorlax lv.58
Dialga lv.44
Lugia lv.46
Typhlosion lv.49

yeah, the last 3 were just got out to match up better.

So, I went through his team, mainly with Dialga (lol, he swept, at one point it was 6-3).Then Dialga died, so used Lugia for Rhydon, and.....Hydro Pump missed!!!and it was dead.

-So, I sent out Marowak, who 2HKO'd with Bonemerang, after being knocked down to about 20 hp.
-For Gyarados, I sent out Snorlax, who took it one with Rollout, getting knocked to just over 1/2 hp (so about 700, lol).
-So, with Pidgeot, I sent out Marowak, to heal Snorlax up. Return KO'd me.
-Sent out Typhlosion, who hadn't been used since Exeggutor. Return OHKO'd.
-Sent out Snorlax, who was now healed thanks to brave Marowak's sacrifice. Giga Impact dropped it into yellow health, before on the 2nd turn, Return killed me.
-Sent out Politoed (Politaro), who was unused in this battle. It outsped, and used Bounce! Upon landing, it paralysed, but Pidgeot used Return, and got me to 1hp!
-I only had 1 pp of Bounce left, no Surfs, and 1pp of Hypnosis, because I used only Politoed for the gym. I knew Bounce would miss, but, I had to try. It worked! After Pidgeot had swept even better than my Dialga (who 6-0'd Lance), Politoed Bounced it outta the sky!

I went to Prof. Oak, because he called, and he said I could go to Mount Silver!

I restarted, because I couldn't take on the wild pokemon.


Lol, just an extra thing to add about Politaro. Sabrina swept the rest of my team, and then Politaro somehow hit with Hypnosis on Suicune, then Bounced through her team.And then Bounce missed 2 times, but I still beat Erika with it, too.
