1st Gen Dialogue Oddities

That's just cruel. If a real life hospital personnel would say that law suits or warnings would follow.

Never thought of it like that. In R/B/Y, for some reason, instead of saying "Your POKeMON are fully healed," she would say "Your POKeMON are fighting fit." Which I always found weird, they changed it.
This isn't odd now, as I realize they were possessed, but the Channelers in Pokemon Tower. Two of them said, before the battle, "Give me your soul!" and "Give...me...blood!". It kind of was a great way give kids nightmares, Nintendo.

Most kids back hen eith couldn't or didn't read. The real nightmares were the sprites. I shat myself after re-playing blue. Grimer looked horrifying. I could go on. D:

I mean, they're still freaking awesome but scary for small children... BRING THAT BACK, GAMEFREAK.

I thought the exact same thing about the nurses. They actually WANT you to have your pokemon wounded.

I mean, I can understand that one nurse in the center by Mt. Silver saying that because it must get lonely there.

As fort he shorts... How does he know I'm not wearing shorts? They could be under my pants... Jerk...

At first I thought they were swearing a line at me. "Eff you eff you eff you eff you"

And an Executor with a giant, looming face with the light in just the right place to make it look likr a zombie tree?

And yeah, gotta love the freaky sprites, though the view-from-behind was generally a disappointing mess for the cool-looking ones. :(

Speaking of sprites, Haunter was pretty terrifying, which is gladly the point....since he's a ghost and all.

btw, anyone else raise and eyebrow when walking blissfully towards Mt. Moon, and a Lass comes out of nowhere from the grass and accuses you of staring at her? I was like 10 and saying "She's the one in the bushes!"

Ah, yes. Not to mention the lass who walks out of the tall grass, over to you (blissfully minding your own business) and asks: "Eww! Did you touch me?" or words along those lines. Tch.

I was in Fushcia(?) gym and I fought one of the trainers (he was a juggler) and when I beat him he said "I dropped my balls" It was so hard not to laugh my head off.

Anyone notice that Celadon is Kanto's pedo heaven? First, the old guy outside the gym, and as I relearned today, the fat Game Freak guy who is always talking about how good-looking the women's sprites are? What creeps me out is in G/S/C, he talks about Jasmine and Whitney, who are like 12.

There's too many pedo hints, I think they did that on purpose. Best part is that they maintained most of the dialogue in FRLG. XD

meh, all it means is that Mewtwo is a Guyanese immigrant. one oddity found is that in crystal (although this is proly just an oversight) one of the girl trainers you fight in natinonal park calls you cute, regardless if you're playing as a girl or boy.

Although, since gambling is apparently bad, they changed "I'm a ramblin', gamblin' dude!" which saddened me.
Speaking of pedos, thismakes me think of the anime, in the Japanese Beauty And The Beach, the one guy wanted to "have fun" with Misty in 8 years.

Game related, though it might not technically be dialouge, in the original Stadium, how few of the compressed cries sounded anything like the Game Boy cries.

I'm sure all of you with a Gen 1 game will recall this quip early on in the game.

"It's encylopedia-like..." That confused me when I was 10 so badly. The translaters couldn't have just said "It's like an encyclopedia," no. They just had to add the hyphen and make me ponder what the like an encylopedia-like was for about a week.

Koga's invisible walls always seemed like an incorrect statement, because on my GBC you could see the dots. I always thought they should've been see-through walls.
