Hi Suicune, thanks for creating this awesome hack! I've been playing it for the past couple of days, but I was wondering if there is a particularly good way to train? I've just got to Mauville City and my team is as follows:
    Weepinbell Lv. 28
    Combusken Lv. 28
Starmie Lv. 28 (I used a cheat to get a Water Stone early, I couldn't bear waiting until Fortree! :3)
Taillow Lv. 19 (I've been waiting ages to catch one of these on Route 117!)
I've been finding the game pretty difficult so far, especially the battles against Brawly and May (her Swellow kept owning me). The wild Pokémon don't seem to give much XP though, which is quite frustrating. Do I just need to keep grinding XP?
    Also:
One Question. Is the save compatible with every new beta of your hack, or must i restart the game?
I'm using 7.3, and I actually like the new abilities. My Speed Boost Combusken is amazing, but some people would call it overpowered (it's even been banned in competitive battling). Anyway, from what I've read it won't be possible for me to 'update' to a newer version without restarting my game since I'm on 7.3. Is this true? Also, is updating simply a case of re-patching the ips/GBA and replacing the old one? Sorry, I'm quite new to ROM hacking.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and once again, thanks for this awesome hack. It's really getting me back into R/S/E, ready for the remakes! :D

EDIT: Just fought all of the trainers around Vendaturf, and my Combusken is now 32, Weepinbell is 33, and Taillow is 24. I also got stuck at the battle against the triathlete with a Doduo, and had to lose since I only saved state when I got spotted by her. I'll just avoid her from now on, so it's not a big problem.

  • Thank you very much ^^

Well, you can purchase the three elemental stones (Fire, Leaf & Water) at Fortree City Mart and then you can obtain both Sun & Moon stone at Route 112, there are screenshots in the Media section so their specific location is hard to miss really :3

Well, right. I have the Sun and Moon stones that you added, but even then there are only two moon stones in the game and six pokemon that evolve with them. Same with Sun Stones, but there're only three that use them.

And as for Fortree, I thought it was thunderstone there instead of leaf, but maybe I'm wrong xP Oh well, it isn't that big of a deal. I'm sure there's some way to get more lol. Thank you!

Oh right well I must have forgotten about the Leaf Stone because you're right you could only get the Thunder, Fire & Water Stones in Fortree but I've added the Leaf Stone now and I can easily add a couple more Sun & Moon stones, no problem ^^ ~ Just check the latest which should now have that fixed

Well thanks! Yeah basically I kinda went over the top on abilities and because of that I removed all of the abilities I added which is now the Beta 7.26 without the abilities. However I did keep some like Blazikens Speed Boost, Sharpedo's Speed Boost etc. If you did patch the latest patch you would still keep the abilities and your game wouldn't be ruined and you don't have to restart every time you patch ^^

    Beta 7.29

Nothing too important, I've added an ability to Cacturne which is Rough Skin as suggested a few days ago. I've also added three more Moon Stones to cover the amount of evolutions required by a Moon Stone and finally I have added a Thunder, Fire, Leaf & Water Stone at Fallarbor Town just so you can gain early access to them rather than waiting to purchase them at Fortree City.

  • Oh wow, thank you so much!! Really, this helps a ton. :) Thanks~

EDIT: ._. Alright so I got the patch on the game and went through to all the places to collect the new stones...but...the only one I could find was the Moon Stone on Route 111. All the rest are missing :P Well, at least the Fallarbor ones are. Maybe I just couldn't find the Slateport one, and I haven't reached Route 121 yet...

I figured there would be a problem with the elemental stones, I deleted them and re-added them so something could have went wrong there. I'll try move them and fix something up, thanksss for letting me know.

Right so basically re-released Beta 7.921 but changed the location of the elemental stones, they can now be found at Fallarbor City Mart.

  • Solo Chansey/Blissey update:

No badges yet. Chansey's lv15 or so right now, I'm in Rustboro Gym right now but I'll need to grind more before I face Roxanne. I've already had to resort to Struggle against three different trainers due to Chansey routinely getting screwed over by Sand-Attack spam, especially since she has only Pound.

    Another quick question:
My Taillow had the ability Pure Power, but it evolved into Swellow and now its ability is Speed Boost. Was this supposed to happen, and it is possible for me to change the ability back to Pure Power? Thanks! :)

EDIT: Had a look at the .GBA file in YAPE, and I found this: d.pr/wclR I don't know if this is intentional? I swapped it back around anyway for myself, but just thought I'd let you know in case it was an accident. :)

I must have set Ability 1 as Pure Power and Ability 2 as Speed Boost for Taillow then reversed the order for Swellow, I can get that fixed easily and what do you mean by "d.pr/wclR"

Sorry, I just took the 'http' part of the beginning of the url so I could post it. It was just a screenshot I took showing the abilities of Taillow and Swellow in YAPE. Thanks! :)

Is the newest version the one with the stones in the Fallarbor Mart? (I'm using whatever version you sent me at the Nuzlocke site). I picked up the Thunder, Water, and Fire ones just fine, but when I get next to the fourth one, a ! appears above its head and a red screen appears, crashing the game. And in the documents, you say Ludicolo learns Leaf Blade at level 35 and Giga Drain at level 40, then that it learns Surf at level 52 and Hydro Pump at level 56. In reality, it doesn't have the two grass moves, just Absorb and Nature power. Could you replace Abosorb and Nature power with Giga Drain and Leaf Blade? That would really make my shiny Ludicolo much more deadly as a grass type.

Well, considering Shiftry learns Leaf Blade & Giga Drain at Level 52 and 56 I thought I'd do the opposite and go for the more water based moves for Ludicolo. The reason for setting them at 52 and 56 is because that's the average level people seem to be at once reaching Fotree where you obtain the stones but I've taught Giga Drain & Leaf Blade to Ludicolo, the only thing is it would have to be taught via the move tutors. Can you tell me which stones you're talking about when you get the ! and the screen crashes, is it at Lavaridge Mart or Fortree Mart? Also 7.30 is the latest (The attachment)

They were ones in Fallarbor, and since the documents said Ludicolo had those four moves I was intending on using the Move Tutor to relearn them since Heart Scales are in essence unlimited.

As for which stone did it, it was the south-western one of the four.

Oh right, well I've tried fixing them but yeah just try the latest download 7.30 that should have the grass moves in Ludicolo's moveset just use the move tutor.

Hopefully, the latest attachment will be the last for a while as I've pretty much cleared everything up aside the odd one or two errors. (7.30)

  • Solo Chansey update:

4 hours play time, 0 badges. 2 hours were spent on a single failed attempt at Roxanne. I have had to resort to Struggle against FOUR different trainers so far, including the failed Roxanne attempt.
