I don't think they're dead... I think some people are just intimidated by more than a few sentences. Hahaha.

Soft reseting is saving the game right before you encounter a pokemon and restarting your game until the pokemon is shiny! Ghastly was actually the first shiny I ever found before I even knew what shinies were! I found it in the original pearl game. Coming full circle there I guess! He's a really cool shiny, imo.

I don't think the community will die down anytime soon. It's been going strong for decades now! LOL

Yeah, I was surprised to see no one had responded. I tend not to reply to welcome posts and just message people who seem interesting, because otherwise I forget they exist after a day because I have no short term memory. LOL I'd rather start a conversation more personally.

Good luck with the Pokemon League! I finished my 8th badge and now I'm spending time shiny hunting because I want to go into the league with a party I like more! Unfortunately, that means in order to complete the dex and get the shiny charm I need to rely on some trading and I'm still missing some harder to get 'mons! I soft reset for a shiny palkia and got it on Monday, though! That was exciting. :D Now I'm working on breeding a shiny feebas because if I'm going to spend the time evolving one, I only want to have to do it once. xD
