Hello, PC. I was playing the storytelling game with some friends a few nights ago and was struck with an idea. It seems like a common trend amongst us rom-hackers is that we can't write a complete story. I thought to myself, "We should just take a bunch of small stories and shove them together!"...
Hi, could you help me out with this?

I hate to ask, but I absolutely cannot figure this out no matter how much I try. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong here?
Just as the title says, I can't figure out how to change the Professor Oak lecture background in Firered. I've tried inserting both the tileset and tilemap several times but to no avail. This is usually the end product:
I know that the tileset and the tilemap that I'm using are fine as well...
Ok, I've figured out 2 and 3. For future reference, the uncompressed tileset for the Charizard sprite is 240x160 pixels which is the size of the ENTIRE titlescreen. The Charizard sprite is just in a small corner of the entire tileset if that makes sense.
If anybody knows the answer to 1...
1. I know the tileset and tilemap offsets for the Prof. Oak intro background, but how do I actually go about changing them? I keep running into issues when I try doing it via unLZ. (Mind you, I already have a custom tileset and tilemap ready, I just don't know how to insert them).
2. Is there...
Darn. I was actually just wanting to find out where he got the background image from. I know it was a GBA game, but I don't remember which one.
I appreciate the answer, though. That video will definitely come in handy down the road.
Hi, there was a tutorial about how to completely edit the intro battle animation between Gengar and Nidorino in FireRed. The author of the tutorial replaced the sprites with Ursaring and Vulpix. He also changed the background art to a cave. This was a very good tutorial, but I'm having trouble...
Hello. I need halp finding the palette offset for the bag menu. I did some research and everything I read led to it being E83604, but when it doesn't work when I change it in APE. Is there another offset I can try?
Sweet, I'll see about converting over then. Im having a little trouble finding any documentation of the commands, though.
Here's the DL to the connection problem (the warp problem just started happening again, too -_-).
[REMOVED FOR LINKING ROMS]
Mhm, I did exactly what you did in the video, but it still doesn't work. I just continue to walk into a wall of trees (the boundary). Here's a screenshot:

The warping problem is off and on. I just started with a fresh ROM and it hasn't happened so far yet. I had...
Aw, that's too bad about the tiles. I guess I'll have to work around it.
Yep, I switched over and it looks like its working a little better. It would be nice if 1.92 had the feature where I could see the maps as I change the offset like 1.95, but Im not complaining! Thanks for the help!
I do...
I'm having a little bit of trouble with a hack I'm currently working on and I can't quite seem to find the solution with any searching. Hopefully somebody can help!
1. How do I add more tiles? I know how to actually add tiles into the game, but there's very limited space on the available...
This didn't seem to work in either instance :( Thanks for the suggestion, though.
@DarkenedEclipse I'm beginning to think it does have something to do with flags. It's just odd because I've used script just like those in the past and never had that problem. Thanks.
