I have the Gold version. I actually bought it a couple of years ago. The battery was not working anymore but I changed it and it works perfectly now. Too bad my Gameboy color screen is so dark so the playing is quite hard.

Vulpix! I've caught only one. There are so few Pok?mon where I live. Lol. Going to have to evolve the poor Vulpix, the only one that I've got... since I can't get a better one. :D Gastly-Haunter-Gengar, one of my favorites, too. :)

I didn't encounter a single shiny during regular gameplay. (Altough, I got a shiny Yungoos via Wonder Trade... named Trump.) When I started completing Pokédex I got a shiny Goomy and a shiny Bewear! 8)

I was expecting the game to be more difficult. I was expecting to get stuck somewhere and having no idea how to proceed. It's fun and annoying and fun and annoying but at least you get to know the ares better when you actually have to explore it yourself to find out what you have to do next! But...
