  • You want a Timid to hold the Everstone.
It doesn't matter which parent holds the Destiny Knot.
    Pokerus is good!
    It doubles the EVs learned.
It will go dormant after a period a day or so.(I thought it was 3 days but recently I had it happen after 24h) if it is in your party so infect some other with it and keep them in your PC.

Take them out and infect Pokemon you want to have it then put them back into the PC
As long as they are in the PC they will keep the active infection
Wait to battle and earn EVs until you get the nature and IVs you want.

You may want to level both up so it won't cost you so much money in Day Care.

This is how I do my breeding to avoid filling my boxes more than I already do:

    1. Put parents in Day Care.
    2. Save.
    3. Collect 4 eggs.
4 Take one parent out of Day Care.
    5. Hatch eggs (flame body or magma speeds this up as well as hatching power)
    6. Check eggs if they look promising take them to the Judge.
Are any of them better than current parents?
    Yes then
Put it in Day Care repeat above steps.
(I usually breed with a Ditto that never comes out of Day Care. You'll need to make sure that you always keep a male and female.)

    No then
    1. Hit power button which closes the game.
    2. Re-open game.
    3. Walk around until there is an Egg.
    4. REFUSE egg (it's the same as the first egg you just checked.)
    5. SAVE (important I sometimes forget to)
    6. Collect 4 eggs repeat as at beginning Steps 4-5,

I find this helps with box space and saves the trouble of releasing lots of Pokemon
Go to the home menu outside of the game
At the top of of the screen is a square smiley face
    Touch it
    Top right is touch register
    Choose internet
    Enter my friend code
Oh I now have a 3 IV female I think calm and a 5 IV male, missing speed, forget what nature you can have.
You'll have to work to get the IVs in the right stats and the right nature.
    No worries.

If you think you are going to be doing a lot of competitive breeding I strongly suggest a 6 IV Ditto.
RNC has one. It'll be a clone.
Talk with her explain your just starting see what she wants for it.
Let me get my coffee and we can trade.
    Friend code 1907_9797-0140
    In game name Sage
    I just bred a Rash Male Zora with 4 31 IV's.
I don't recall exactly which ones.
    It's free.
    Interested?
Think of an IV as a gene. It can't be changed.

If you breed without the Destiny Knot then the game picks all 6 IVs out of thin air for you.

If you breed with the Destiny Knot the game chooses 5 of the IVs from the combined 2 parents and the last one out of thin air.

    Parent A has IVs x/x/x/x/x/x
    Parent B has IVs y/y/y/y/y/y
With Destiny knot you may get:
    y/y/y/y/y/R
    y/y/y/y/x/R
    y/y/y/x/x/R
    y/y/x/x/x/R
    y/x/x/x/x/R
You can't really build. You can hope for a 31 Random.
That's why you try to start with parents with as many 31 IVs as you can.
Then replace when you get offspring with better IVs
    Yes that makes more sense.
Then the stats he named after were the highest. If he didn't say can't be beat then none were 31.
    That is major discouragement.

I've learned that a lot of the people playing online breed for 5 31 IVs then EV train for best spreads.

I haven't mastered the EV spread part of things. I usually go to Smogon and use whatever they say.
I don't think I've heard the one before...it may take me a bit to find out what it means.
    You don't evolve it.

I mostly play in game too!
I don't really enjoy the competitive side but I learned a whole lot about breeding because of my son and a few friends who wanted competitive pokemon.
