  • Which, maybe should've told them NOT to put a Ghost specialist in the games, then? Putting a Ghost user in Kanto was akin to putting a Dragon user in Sinnoh. (Which, THANK THE GODS, GF wasn't dumb enough to do.)

    Oak was obviously intended to be a Champion of some sort, either the one at the end of the Indigo Plateau or a secret postgame final boss, akin to GSC Red or Emerald Steven.

    He's programmed into all 3 Gen 1 games, and in RB, at least, he does use the unchosen starter (not as sure about Yellow, although he still has a normal Kanto starter there). I'll have to ask Mateo about including him in Red++. Great idea!
    Which Agatha utilized VERY poorly to begin with. {XD} Besides, Oak had the highest leveled team in the entire game, even stronger than Blue's!
    ROFL! {XD} To be honest, I've always found those remarks deeply ironic after learning that Prof. Oak had a far more powerful team than Agatha's programmed into the game.
    That is VERY true. I'd probably know better than anyone here how much a dead fandom sucks (see, Charmed).
    Oh, RL. Yeah, that can often get in the way. :P

    Well, as you've probably already heard, no new Pokémon game was announced at all at E3, which probably means that we won't see any new main series games until 2016. (This, making this the first year since 1997(!) in which no new Pokémon game was released in either Japan or the US.)

    While it's nice to see GF taking a break, that does unfortunately mean another year of almost nothing but Favorite Pokémon/How Many Shinies/Rate My Team nonsense threads ahead of us. :rolleyes2: This site can REALLY slow down when there's no new game on the horizon.
    They are among the few Pokémon characters that I actively loathe. Not just dislike, but outright HATE. They deserve whatever nasty nickname I bestow upon them. {XD}
    That's still more than "all the characters up to 4th Gen," and I know that I probably missed a few. (Like Phoebe and possibly Liza & Tate.)
    Um, I think you missed a PM...
    Spoken just like someone who has never had to face sexism in his life, nor see his gender vastly underrepresented in the things he loved. :rolleyes2:

    And, BTW, I'd hardly consider the likes of Brock, Erika, Koga, Janine, Bruno, and Chuck to be "white." Possibly Sabrina and Falkner, too.
    Yeah, and the remakes DELIBERATELY ERASED the female protagonist from FRLG, so no girl Champion for you. Even worse, most people treat Gold/Ethan as the canon protagonist of Gen 2, if only because he was the only one in both originals and remakes.

    *Sigh* Yes, the Indigo League is quite sexist. Blecch, why does it have to be the main League I care about? >:(
    And, notice that she was the ONLY woman there. The Gen 2 E4 was the most male-dominated ever.

    Besides, I don't get the gist that she actually "led" the E4 like Lance did in Gen 1. She didn't have a special room or different battle theme, nor did she ever announce herself as "leader of the E4."
    He honestly doesn't deserve to be an E4 member, period. How did he not only get to stay, but also get a promotion, while Lorelei got the boot (and without ever getting any kind of promotion the entire time she was there)?

    Why do I get the suspicion that the Indigo League judges trainers for reasons other than battling skill? :rolleyes2:

    Blecch, I hate what "Prima" has done to the image of her character. Thanks to "Prima," people look at her and see a pair of boobs, not a person.

    Unfortunately, there aren't really any good alternate portrayals of her character. There's, what, the cardboard cut-out from the games? Or, the hateful villain from Adventures?
    Still, he kept his position (and even moved up), while Lorelei never got above bottom rank and ended up quitting. Which resumé do YOU think looks better?

    She was badly shafted. She never amounted to much in the games, and adaptations haven't exactly done her much better, either. Fandom doesn't see her as anything more than a hot piece of ass (and that's if she's acknowledged). Even the likes of Will and Bruno have more fans than her!
    It clearly wasn't enough to count, because we still know practically nothing about her character.

    And, Bruno did get something she didn't get--Inclusion in the sequels. That's pretty big, alone, even if his character was hardly developed.
    I don't know about Platinum, but I know that BW, in general, had better quality storytelling, so that's probably why its E4 members were fleshed out a little more.

    Compare this to the first three Gens, where we basically no nothing about any E4 member not named Agatha, Lance, or Koga. They're mostly just a bunch of cardboard cut-outs who have zero impact on the games' plot, whatsoever. You could replace them with random other characters, and it would hardly make a difference.
    Why do you think the games seem to hate E4 members so much? These are supposed to be the strongest trainers in the game, yet they get a fraction of the characterization that even the most generic Gym Leaders get. Few have even appeared out of their tiny rooms, let alone have gotten any kind of meaningful development. And, most of them aren't even all that difficult to battle, too.

    I mean, I know that storytelling has never been the games' strong point, but it's pretty obvious that E4 members are getting screwed over compared to others. Some have argued that E4 members are supposed to be more "mysterious" than Gym Leaders and Champions, but I'm not sure if "mysterious" is supposed to translate into being a cardboard cut-out or background wallpaper. :rolleyes2:
    Yeah, you know how I am. :P I don't really have much of a motivation to post around unless I get some replies.

    Plus, this site has become REALLY slow lately. The lack of a new game can really kill this site.
    Ewwwww!

    You see, this is why I own cats. Just show them the litter box, and they know what to do. No disgusting accidents! {XD}
