The reason is that the new project I'm working on is intended to be a sort of spiritual successor to Cyan. It won't be outwardly recognizable but certain ideas will be reused alongside new ones I didn't get the chance to implement in Cyan, and some of the features that people liked in Cyan will...
Hi guys,
I know it's been a long time but I figured I owe the few fans who might still be out there an explanation. As you may have guessed, Cyan is dead. There are a number of reasons for this, but the most important one is that I simply grew to be dissatisfied with the quality of my work. I...
Very nostalgic to see some old members returning, hope you stick around!
If you're continuing work on an old hack you should definitely consider implementing some of the advancements of the past few years. Stuff like the P/S split is almost mandatory nowadays, and of course there have been...
I'd like to know more about the open world balancing. It's a tricky thing to get right, especially in a Pokemon game. Are there any checks in place to stop us from becoming too overleveled and blitzing through the story (assuming level progression is tied to story progression). How will...

I take really long breaks, like a year+ breaks when I'm not feeling it. I always come back to the same hack though. Can't bring myself to start anew after all the time I've spent on it.
This is a similar method to what I do, but you don't need the whole step with IPS Peek. You can do it directly by using the compare file function in your hex editor to compare the two ROMs.
It has a level of polish and detail to it that very few other hacks possess. It doesn't try do anything mindblowing or particularly adventurous, and it sticks to a fairly safe premise (the whole 8 gyms + evil team routine), but it has a consistent high level of quality to it absent from most...
This has actually happened in the past. I don't know about leaving the community because of it, but one of the nominees accused the judges of being biased and asked for their hack to be removed from the competition. Don't remember who exactly, but if you really wanted me to I could dig up one of...
