  • Mmm, yes, I see. I think it would look weird if you tried to cover up those glitchy tiles with your Jirachi sprite. I also think I had my glitchy tiles in roughly the exact same place too!
But as I said, you could easily hide glitchy tiles like that. Try adding things like 'Press Start' text, or do something like I did with mine and add black bars. This will also help to make your titlescreen look better. BTW you add the 'Press Start' text alongside your Jirachi sprite, in roughly the place where those glitchy tiles appear.
If your still all confused, I can easily help you out and add the text and such for you. But hopefully you'll understand just by seeing how I did my image.

As for a mini tutorial.... I've never written a tutorial before. But I used 16 colours with everything in my titlescreen, except for the Pokemon logo. I guess I was just fortunate that it all ended up looking so good in 16 colours.
Ok Circa, I finally managed to fix up my Titlescreen. It seems that the glitchy tiles were actually being caused by my Jirachi image rather than the background. Resizing it down from 240x160 to 240x136 fixed it up.

However, I still get some glitchy tiles appearing in the bottom left-hand corner of my background. (though you can't actually see them when you view the titlescreen in-game). I have no idea what is causing them or how to get rid of them. All I really can do is hide them with my titlescreen image. So, if you've done everything you can and STILL can't get rid of those glitchy tiles, then try to find a way to cover them up using your titlescreen image.... It's what I did.
Thank you :) Sure I can help you with your titlescreen. I'm still testing things out with my own titlescreen to see if I did anything wrong. Once I figure out how to get rid of them I'll tell you.

All I can say right now is that the width size of your background that you want for your titlescreen has to be 256px. As for height...try 144px. Mine's 160px, so I'm going to try 144px to see if that gets rid of the glitchy tiles.
