Sadly, I think everyone who had been watching the court knew it couldn't pass in any more than a 5-4 majority, if it passed at all.
How will that sort of resistance translate to actions, in your opinion? Now that it's legalized, I can't think of much more than institutional prejudice and protests. What points did your family bring up? Did they did this ruling would affect them directly, somehow?
"End of the World..." "War on Christians..." I don't understand it when people say things like that. Bad things are happening all over the world, constantly (like our country's police brutality, which you mentioned). Why would marriage equality be so bad in comparison?
I understand. Honestly, I'm happy when anything good comes out of this country.
