The reason why so many people find Elesa difficult is because of those Emolgas, they spam Double Team, have high Speed and your only hope of hitting them super effectively (at least by that point) is Rock-type attacks.

It's such a pity cos she's my fave Unova Gym Leader.

Sophie, what's your Emolga's level, gender, nature and moveset?

Speaking of Emolga, I have one in Black.

Mine's Level 58, female with Quiet nature. Current moves are Acrobatics, Thunderbolt, Discharge and Attract. Caught her in Lostlorn Forest with an Ultra Ball.

Did you know that Marriland, the man famous for his hilarious video walkthroughs actually hates Emolga? It was because on his Pokemon White Adventure series, he had bad memories of them when battling Elesa due to the constant spamming of Double Team, he did end up catching an Emolga when training his Pokemon for the Elite Four.
