  • Rephrasing that, "apparently" occurs with trades within the generation as well. As I'm currently at inner Castelia City, I can't check my PC Cobalion/Terrakion/Virizion right now, but going back to Black and checking a Treecko I have there, it notes "Egg apparently hatched". It was hatched on Route 3 from the Day-Care couple's Egg in a breeding scenario, egg received 12/20/2012 (this person apparently plays with the date somewhat ahead).

Then there are Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect, who "apparently had a fateful encounter at Lv.15".

Let's go to non-Events. Tornadus for me says "Met at Lv.40" as I caught it on Route 5 thanks to an incredibly useful (at the time) Watchog; I tell you, Watchog is a great Legendary trapper on roamers based on that one experience. Thundurus, however, says for me "apparently met at Lv.40" and caught at Route 4; this info is where you determine legitimacy, as within the generation this number should NOT change. If I trade you my Tornadus, it would again say "Apparently caught".

In other words, ANY Pokémon imported or traded will say "apparently" because you cannot possibly know, you weren't there to watch it be caught or hatch. Only your own catches and non-Events will not use the "A" word.
Indeed, and I did that with the Dragonite analysis before trading. The problem becomes that I considered the "met" level to be the level caught in that region. In so doing, I would have been marking my own Scizor as a hack.
You're exactly right, that's what happened. Now that I've seen it with my Johto Scyther now Scizor, I know not to look at a higher level in past generational imports as a hack, but rather, only at current generation. This might explain why some like trading within Gen. IV and importing themselves; they can check it for legality.

Of course, lower levels are still hacks. A Lv.5-10 Dratini has hack all over it from Sinnoh. :D
    Well I'll be a monkey's uncle:

    Scizor
    Brave nature
    11/20/2012
    Johto
    Apparently arrived at Lv.50
    Somewhat vain

What interests me is the bolded line. Is that the exact line used in the case of the Blissey? Chansey CAN be caught in Sinnoh, so Blissey is suddenly looking legitimate. Leafeon can be evolved in Sinnoh (even if it was first moved to Gen. V and then evolved at Pinwheel Forest's interior, that would still say the same for import), and when imported CAN be at Lv.16.

This also means the Dragonite IS legitimate under the same rules applied to my Johto-based then-Scyther, caught at Lv.13 but claiming to be met at Lv.50 and only caught in November. It does change when imported through generations. I'll be damned.

My apologies, consider all three suspect Pokémon as legit. (including the Dragonite), but definitely do Pokéchecks on your two just to verify. I've looked at Dragonite manually and it checks out everywhere.
    Looking at the list:

    - Leafeon must be evolved, cannot be caught otherwise. Eevee is only found from Bebe in Sinnoh (in fact, if you want some trivia, the Castelia City area is the first time wild Eevee can be collected in numerous quantities and can thus be considered its habitat). Levels are either 5 or 20. Definitely a hack as far as I know After other research, it's legal.
    - Camerupt and Numel are both found in Sinnoh; http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Sinnoh_Route_227]Route 227[/url] tops out at Lv.53, but the Stark Mountain Camerupt MIGHT be legit. as they appear there at Lv.55 (not Numel, which are lower). Shininess could be hacked, but there are some honest people even on the GTS (hey, you used it ;) ), so I want to believe that is legit. Perhaps get me some moves data and I can tell you for sure whether it would be considered legit., or even have a Pokécheck done on it?
    - Swellow is possible, from Route 13. Wish people wouldn't waste their Master Balls on these, but I guess they're more worried about knocking it out.
    - Rapidash is found on Route 12. Level checks out.
    - Drifloon sounds like a hatched Shiny from a legit. Drifblim or something. I'd be curious about the list of moves. Again, might not hurt to run a Pokécheck, but hatched Eggs always have a Shiny chance. If it wasn't a regular Poké Ball I'd call it a definite hack, as Lv.1 is extremely rare (I've seen Magikarp like that available, even Lv.100 of those and ironically in the same body of water).
    - Litwick checks out,
    - Blissey isn't even worth analysis Valid, see above. Met at Lv.100? Seriously? I will check my Scizor, evolved from a cloned Scyther I caught in a SS Bug-Catching Contest, and get back to you on whether the "met" level changes when imported to another game; I do not believe it does (if it somehow does, that Dragonite suddenly could be legit., but I'm banking that it doesn't).

Therefore, move Leafeon and Blissey to the "hacked" listing (pending research on my Scyther). I should be back shortly to comment on this.
I did some research; this Dragonite is hacked. In Sinnoh, Dratini can only be caught between Levels 15-25, and Dragonair between Levels 15-40. This Dragonite claims to be found at Lv.51. Since Dragonite does not appear on its own fully evolved, it has to be a hack.

What was the other Shiny you had? I'd like to research its legitimacy.
BTW, I can still trade...Black can be up on the 3DS as soon as I have word. I'm playing on the DSi ATM.
Speaking of, I got interested in W2 this evening. I did two Gyms tonite. I feel like I'm rushing; I beat Elesa extremely underleveled with multiple Ground types. Whoa. :O Time to get N's Zorua once I have the stuff to combat Heartbreaker Charles.
Think I got sidetracked last nite. LMAO

Provided I'm here between 2-4 (my time), we can try. Even so, you can always try getting into the WFC room alone; if you can get in, we can likely go without a problem.
    Ah, nice. :)

So what time should we shoot for? Again, my father's truck being ready could shift it later, but let's shoot for something.
Yup, one hour's difference. You're in Quebec, PEI, etc. or South America somewhere? (Newfoundland I know is 1.5 hours ahead of me.)
If my Dad's truck is fixed by the afternoon, I might be picking it up, so yes...let's schedule a time, and if I can't make it we can try again in the evening (when I definitely will be here). Let's check time zones again since I mixed up messages before. It's 10:32 p.m. as I send this. What does your side say?
I deleted an earlier message; sent a note about your Keldeo to someone else and told you about that person's. Keldeo is and has been ready for you.
I've verified that Dragonair can be found at Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh. Thus, legitimacy is possible, but when Pokémon move between games it's impossible to tell legitimacy otherwise unless it claims to be caught in a place it can't (I once received a Lv.3 Jirachi claiming to be caught in Johto, and obviously, Jirachi can only be found via an Event and usually at Lv.5). Check its catch level (also see where Dragonite can be caught and at what levels) and you can deduce whether it's legitimate based on that. Check that all of its moves could be learned by the same Pokémon (even two Egg Moves using different fathers says it's hacked). We have to go on faith otherwise.

Also, do not use Rare Candies. The only time I would ever use them would be if someone wanted a Pokémon with no EV training at a certain level. I'll be cloning my Rare Candies in the event of such a request someday. My point, however, is that a Lv.50 Pokémon leveled using Rare Candies is not as strong as one trained the normal way.
I know how that works - I didn't know the PW for the router, but since figured out where to find it and am now able to go online at home. Do you have a regular DS? The 3DS can accept more connection types, so B/W/B2/W2 can connect through it easily (HG/SS still use DS settings for wireless), but the same games on the DS, DS Lite, or DSi still get the old connection settings.

So yeah, let me get about cloning that Keldeo. Speaking of Shinies, I accidentally knocked out a Shiny Audino today (great timing for a crit. W2, seriously); now that I've seen it I might AR the next one to be Shiny in that area. We'll see. Even so, I still have a Lv.100 Shiny Audino from a trade. Never used it; don't like Audino's move pool, and it's Normal type so no good STABs.

That Lugia...was it a Wifi Event? I have all Pokémon, but I don't have any Event Lugia (just my Lv.45 catch from SS). Same question for Vitcini; is it the Liberty Island one or a Japanese Event? (I have a Movie14.) The Shiny Dragonite may also be of interest (though I tend to like Shinies in initial evolution, I might make an exception for this one).
I have a Relaxed Keldeo. If nature isn't a big deal, I can clone it and trade it later this evening. :)

I have the entire Pokédex, so what do you have that's of value? Once again, I can clone and return anything; in the event I return one, junk qualifies for the second trade.
