I ran a marathon a month or two ago for charity; raised about £35 each. (There was six of us.) People are really stingy. D:

We raised something like £1000, it was a really great evening, too! :D

That's probably the best thing to do. Have you ever thought of raising money for an Alzheimer's charity? I put on a singing concert a few years back... There was four of us and we dressed as the Spice Girls. It was brilliant. :D
