for stones, just talk to everyone after you battle them. four of them will say something about finding stuff or whatever. get their number, they'll have stones every once in a while. i think those four are located as listed, but not sure.
there's a fisherman just west of mahogany town
there's a...
on a recent run for a bug team, i caught a scyther and got third place. i raised the scyther, used it in my E4 assault, and then evolved it into scizor.
the thing was a beast, it took out red's team on the first try--no other pokemon were called in to assist--at level 55. swords dance, agility...
i'll be starting a G3 run somewhere in the near future and i'm wondering about the roaming pokemon. in GSC, those little bastards would run as soon as they could or else roar you away. is it the same way in the G3 games or will they actually stick around for a little while and give you a fair...
Ready to go on Victory Road, here's a recap
Run Complete. Victory Road and E4 run:
A very interesting occurrence on Victory Road. I was fighting the Cool Trainer with Bellsprout, Weepinbell, and Victreebel. I had Nidoking use Thrash, and he took out the first two before leaving...
Worst puzzle in all of pokemon, or worst puzzle in all of video gaming?
And I am almost sure that they tilt the odds away from you guessing the second switch correctly, because I guessed randomly ten times in a row and got it wrong every time. This happens literally every time I play Red or...
personally, i didn't know what to make of it. i was expecting the rival to be someone the character knew already (in the mold of RBY), so i was confused until i saw the "rival's name" caption after the officer's question.
i didn't set the name to ???, but i think there have been a few posts in...
well, in any case, i'm starting my run through Blue with only one of each of the nido- families.
i picked squirtle as my starter, but he's been relegated to the sidelines since i caught a female and a male nidoran. their queenly and kingly nicknames are Cleopatra and Leonidas--or, as i thought...
how was gender determined in gen 1 and gen 2 games? i read that in gen 3 it's derived from the personality value, but what was it based on before that was introduced?
is it like shininess where it's based on some existing stats of the pokemon (eg IV's)? or if i traded a pokemon from GSC to RBY...
i think the mechanics were too simple in Gen 1 to have this be anything other than chance.
it's an interesting trip, though, isn't it? there are so many players that a scenario like this is almost guaranteed to happen to SOMEbody, but when you're that somebody it feels like there must be...
Every site I read about game mechanics in GSC lists the same things which can increase happiness. Leveling up, vitamins, haircuts/groomings, and walking. But none of them mention the elite four. A few forum posts on other sites say it works, so I tried it out for myself.
I hatched two Eevees...
sort of an academic question, at least for now until i finish my current GSC water run. if i were to make a run using only nidoking/nidoqueen, could i get credit for both ground AND poison runs?
just a thought
