  • This base is really great, however, I'd like to insert it onto a rom that already has some edits. Could you release a version where that works? Thanks. I'll understand if you say no, though.
Hello! Abut the CSS color on my thread, could you make it brighter? It's okay if you can't...
I give up the XML vs. Pre-compiled list argument. You win, XML is better. However this makes it your responsibility to find out how to efficiently read XML (like a libraray with find child element functions, etc.) :p Because I have no idea where to begin EDIT: Thats all lies, lets not use them anyway. I'll make up some file format to store commands. How is the GUI going?
And how far are you? I already have a simple mechanism that parses the commands and then does whatever you want with them... It should support changing text to the text table by the end of today...
Hey. Long time no see. XD
My computer crashed AGAIN, I had to do a really drawn out and tedious fix (i had managed to break my motherboard, graphics card and crash the OS, and the heatsink for my processor - I never knew that was possible :P)... Anyway, I got new parts and got everything working, and managed to log back on here... I have started a new tool project, because I lost the old one in the crash. I was wondering if you'd be interested in helping me out a bit? Post a response on my profile and we'll talk more on MSN :)
I never read the second half of that tutorial and frankly I don't have the patience to read it now either. What's so important about it?
Err, sort of. The coordinates don't get randomly moved around or anything. It's just that their location differs depending on the method used to access the world map.
Scratch that. The address of the coordinates is different depending on how the player is accessing the world map. For example, if they're using the Town Map key item, then the coordinates are stored at '0x0200811C' but if the player is using the map in a PokéCenter, then they're at a different location. At '0x020399E4', there is an address which should point to the X coordinate and, as before, the Y coordinate should be directly after it.
Ah, to be young and a programmer. :D
Don't kill yourself trying to figure things out. I've found that if you go to sleep, when you wake up you can look at the problem again and have a much better chance of solving it. Plus, after 1:00 AM you probably don't think nearly as well as you do normally and it's unlikely that you'll get anything of value accomplished past then. :P
Alright well it's past midnight here so I'm probably going to go to bed soon. You can update me on your progress tomorrow.
I found them. The X coordinate is at '0x0200811C' and the Y coordinate is directly after it at '0x0200811E'. Keep in mind that they're stored as halfwords.

And no, I won't really be interested because I'm an Emerald hacker and I already figured this out for Emerald.
